Here's My Christmas Tree

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

lol well we don't have kids so no one-eye snowman and such to make a tree with. I collect Santa's (just a few of them below) and would love a Santa tree. Mom started the collection and I've added on to it and I so one of these day's I'll have a special tree that will be just the two of ours :)

galega - those are beautiful trees. do you have sme kind of business that the tree is in a car dealership??

araness - your tree is georgeous.

South Puget Sound, WA(Zone 8a)

Herbie43 - Thanks! I have no business doing this (LOL), seriously, I am just a volunteer for a hospital foundation that auctions the trees as a major fund raiser. Typically they are purchased by businesses but some do go to private homes. I've been involved in this project for about 11 years, and even though it's a ton of work, it's for a great cause and assists low income families with the costs of medical care.

araness that is quite the santa collection! Is that big one life sized? They would all look great on a tree - you should definitely do it!

So far nothing on my tree at home...I think I'm burned out! Maybe the cats will decorate this year.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Saint, very nice tree friend! You have lots and lots of Santas!! How cute! I'm too embarrassed to take a picture of my sad little tree. I've had this fake tree for over 10 years and it is just not as lovely as the rest of these. :)

Here's our tree.
Also fake, but what the heck, better than burning the house down or trying to clean up needles.
We had this one for I don't remember how long.

Michelle, get your tree on here, no one is going to pick on you. All trees are welcome!

Enjoyed all the pics of the Christmas trees!!!! We're talking about not having a tree this year. I suggested maybe we could just hang some lights in the family/living room. We're doing some remodeling and I have a lot of stuff including some lumber and boards stacked throughout the house. It's a sloooooow and inconvenient process but it will be worth it in the end I'm sure.

julie - go to the store and buy one of those 2 ft. fiber optive trees. they are cheap and you just takethem out of the ox and plug it in. the lights twinkle and its pretty. you have to have some kind of tree for the holidays.

galega - that is great that you do this to help the less fortunate.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Okay Bernie, I'll try and get a picture of the tree tomorrow. Don't y'all laugh at it though 'cuz you'll hurt my feelers. ;)
michelle

ps. I love those fiber optic trees too.

pps. anyone watch the Dallas Cowboy vs. NYG game today? Great game! Especially since Big D won! YAY!! Gotta love that Romo! Sorry...off subject. hehe.

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

dallas is my favorite football team even though i live in new york. i root for the giants except when they play the cowboys. did you know romo is a no handicap golfer?? he is very good.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Herbie, I had no idea that Romo is a good golfer. He sure has a nice smile! I hear he is dating Jessica Simpson. ;) Tiki Barber does the "Fox and Friends first" on Fox news early in the morning. I can't wait to hear him talk about his game tomorrow. They call it "Tiki Tuesdays". Sometimes his twin bro that plays for Tampa Bay, Ronde, comes on with him. The only part about the Giants I like is Tiki.

Well Herbie, I knew I liked you for some reason...now that I know you are a Cowboy fan...i can figure out why. hehe.

Okay, back to Christmas trees. My DH took this for y'all this morning. It is a slim line tree b/c I used to live in an apartment and had no room for a regular sized tree. I used to put colored lights on that were purple, green and pink, but DH is not all about those colors so now I put on white.

I have lots of interesting ornaments from various places. This one was very special given to me by a friend who is not a Christian, but appreciated my love of the Lord. This is the Lamb and Lion...representing Peace on Earth when Jesus returns to reign. The Lamb also represents when Jesus came as the sacrificial Lamb of God to die for our sins. The Lion represents how Jesus will be when He returns.

Just one more....This is a fish made out of olive wood that I bought in Bethlehem, Israel. I visited Israel back in June 2000.

tomato - nice tree. GO COWBOYS

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks Herbie. I saw Tiki on Fox and Friends this morning and he didn't say anything about their loss to the Cowboys. I didn't see the entire thing, so maybe he said something early before I was up. i really like Tiki, but alas, one has to stick with their loyalties...and I will never like the Giants. :)

Well I see I put in the same ornament twice. duh. This is the one made of olive wood I meant to put on. I guess that is why I should Preview before Sending. haha.

And here's the dining room tree. The one in the Living room is a big mix of all kinds of ornaments, the one in the dining room is more formal.

By the way, I love seeing everyone's trees... all beautiful! I'm a little partial to the Chef themed tree, but you all are so creative! Fabulous ideas for theme trees... Galega, you are very talented!

Post more photos!

I love the olive wood carvings! They are gorgeous!

South Puget Sound, WA(Zone 8a)

I love this thread. It's so great to see all of these trees. I also love all of the different color combinations - Brenda, you have great colors on the walls in your house, too! Michelle - I really like your ornaments. We have a creche ornament of olivewood that my mom brought back from Israel. I try to hang it prominently since it's one of my favorites. That wood is incredible! Still not done with my own tree at home. Yesterday I had to do another tree, but this time for my husband's office. Fortunately it was only 4 feet tall so didn't take the whole day. Maybe I can convince my 13 year old son to help me with ours tonight.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Brenda, my DH's grandmother lives in Cave Creek. That area sure is growing quickly! We are going to PHX for Christmas and will be visiting dear Grandmother Hazel in Cave Creek. Nice tree!

Thanks Tir. I like the wood carvings too. :)

gal, you need to post a pic of your olivewood ornament from Israel. I'd love to see it.

I also have a sandstone cross, iron cross and a large nail. The nail was given to us at church a few years back during Easter service.

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Tomatoholic... I'm sure you'll enjoy Cave Creek at Christmas! It is lovely, and, yes, growing. By the way, I had an Aunt Hazel (now passed) that was one of my favorites. What a great name... Hazel.

p.s. The olivewood ornaments are very lovely, indeed!

Very nice, magoobu! Six year olds are the best at decorating Christmas trees!

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

Yes they are it is wonderful to do holidays through their tiny eyes of wonder!! thank you!!!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

ditto, Magoobu, me likes best too.

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

magoobu,

wow they did a great job!

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

It is the smallest tree we have had in years but I wanted it in the den where we spend our time and the fire is there

Thank you all so much my son is so proud he was the one to actually pick the tree out! Many may have looked better but I think it meant more that this one he chose himself! I am a Charlie Brown Tree gal! Put on the lights and ornaments and they all come to life with love!!!

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

That's Great Magoobu! My daughter has to have her input on decorating our tree also but it's ok.. It's really all for her anyway. The last few years I have started a tradition of getting myself one special ornament a year. IThe main thing is that it has to be something that speaks to me. My favorite so far is a little leather white ice skate. Reminds me of my puppyhood going iceskating down in the park. I liked it so much I bought one to send to my sister :) We don't have the tree up yet but as soon as we do I'll post a pic..

Love everyone's trees

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

Oh cannot wait to see your tree too!!!!!!

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Hi everyone. My 7 yr. old grandaughter has decorated my tree since she was 3 yrs old. This year her 3 yr. old brother helped her. I thought they did a wonderful job! I never changed a thing! Thanks for looking!
