November BINGO, let the game begin!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

ROFL... sometimes they don't have names! That one is a noid that I got from Nannanavarro, who calls it "Gypsy." It doesn't always bloom with those pinwheels, but it's doing so again now. :-) I have four plants growing of it (leaf babies), and I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll bloom!

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

Your plants are getting pretty crowded, critter. Need a new home for one of the babies??? hahaha JUST KIDDING!!!!

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

By the way, I just noticed they named a plant after me:

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

And a very pretty Sinningia it is too!

Thank you critter, Gypsy is an extremely pretty NOID.
CJ...you are one beautiful Sinningia : )

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

Thank you! My nose isn't really as long as that, but I'm just thrilled to have any plant named after me...correct spelling, too!! Whoo hoo!

I'm also available as a mum. They have decided to come out with the *many moods* of me (lol). Here's Spicy Cheryl:

Okay, I've really strayed from the topic....

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Boy CJ,Your moods sure are alot prettier than most of mine. : (

Madison Heights, MI(Zone 5b)

well, good luck Maureen! ...and everyone else :-)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Marueen, Bloomaholic, and everyone... hope you remembered to blow on the right die; I've switched to a 6-sided one!

Cheryl, your namesakes are lovely! I sure will have a lot of plantlets looking for homes once it's warm enough again to ship... :-)

We're celebrating "TGIF!" night here, so I figured it's time for another call!

The plant in this photo is actually a pink-blooming sport of the variety on the list. Everything else fits the description, but this variety blooms medium-blue rather than pink.

This plant has continued to branch and filled out nicely since its "first blooms" photo!

Rob's Gundaroo?

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

Dang...didn't see you edited it

(Zone 1)

I'll guess 'Candy Crystals' .... just because it's on my list! LOL

I still need 3 more!

Lin

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Yes, it's a pink sport of Rob's Gundaroo! I got this one from MsC, and I've been calling it "Guessaroo"... I think she may be going with "Gunda-who?"

I've also got a blue and a blue-tipped white plant grown from leaves of 'Rob's Humpty Doo' (didn't realize it was a chimera when somebody sent me the leaves).

They're lovely little trailers regardless, but I'd love to add the "real" 'Rob's Gundaroo' and 'Rob's Humpty Doo' to my shelf of trailers.... maybe somebody will be able to fix me up during spring trades.... or I'll break down and place another order when Rob's starts regular shipping again!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I don't think editing should be allowed! ;oP LOL

Critter, where is your favorite place to buy AVs? If I have already asked this please forgive me......I'm kinda dense lately. (lately??? LOL)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

The first person to post a correct answer gets the point. I don't think it matters if you edit your answer... If the first person guesses "A" and the second person to post guesses "B" and then the first person changes their guess to "B," then if "B" is the right answer the second person would get the point. In this case, Nancy edited her post to the correct answer a couple of minutes before CJ posted the correct answer, so I figured Nancy gets the point. ?

I've been up to The Violet Gallery (in PA) a couple of times, and I've picked up a few AVs in past years from Carousel of Violets in Winston-Salem NC (but she doesn't do mail order), and I got something like a dozen plants from Rob's last year in the spring. I think fall plants from Rob's are bigger than the ones I got in spring (they were probably started in teh same season), but my plants from both places were healthy and vigorous. A lot of my plants have come from trades, and I do a bunch of propagating by leaf, especially over the winter. There's a list of vendors in the "sticky" thread, too, and if you check back through old threads you'll find people's comments on Bluebird, Lyndon Lyon's, etc.

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Critter,I honestly won't mind if you give the point to CJ for the ID. : ) I certainly don't want to cause any ill feelings.I enjoy playing with you all so much and maybe I misread the rules.
Oh and I still need the same 1 I have needed since yesterday!! I think I need to send stronger vibes to that dice! LOL I hope we have a winner soon.I can't believe we have been playing this long without one : ) It sure has been fun!! Good Luck Everyone!!: )

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

Hi Cedar- I'm playing for fun. I've edited before. It's no biggie.

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

And I still need 3...lol

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

Oh, but I really do appreciate the thought. ; )

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'm wondering if anybody's last pick was 'Rob's Gundaroo'! Every time I see a new post, I think somebody has posted "Bingo!!"

Blow hard on that 6 sided die tomorrow... I think I'll be spacing the calls out a bit more to give everybody a chance to see if they had Bingo with one call before I post the next. I'm sure we'll be able to wrap the game up before the holiday weekend!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I was just teasin'. :o) I really don't mind the edits. I was looking through the last ones after cedarnest posted "Candy Crystals." I was going to post RG as my answer, but I hadn't refreshed the thread anyway, so the other's would have posted before me anyway. Did that make sense? LOL It would have looked kinda funny though if I had posted R'sG right after I saw cedarnest post CC, but didn't see her edited answer. LOL "Doh!" on my part!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'm glad everyone's keeping in mind that this is meant to be a "friendly game!" Now that we're down to the last few, I know the IDs will be even quicker... So I'm just going by the earliest time stamp (post or edit) on the right answer.

Madison Heights, MI(Zone 5b)

Wouldn't it be funny if everyone had one particular alike selection on their card, and in the end we are all waiting for that ONE to be called? Going to have to be fast calling out bingos!!

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Well, as usual I must have the last calls on mine....but that is okay too! I have had so much fun being a part of this game. Playing has been so exciting thanks again Jill, for making it such a fun game!

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

No winner yet? Thats amazing! Mgh,I knew you were teasing. : ) We all just have so much fun with one another on here. It sure has been an exciting and informative game!! I look so forward to catching up on the posts every day.You never know what CJ will throw in there : )Thanks Critter, for feeding our addiction! Bloomaholic ,I was thinking the same thing. LOL Maybe it will all come down to the very last call : ) That would be really crazy!! : )

Welcome back Janet!! We missed you : )Hope your friends surgery went well : )

Good Luck Everyone! : )

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'm hoping everyone isn't waiting for the same last call! I really do want to try to get prizes to additional Bingo winners so people don't feel they have to check DG a dozen times a day... but if we have more than 3 simultaneous winners, I think additional winners may have to be content with a Basil Seed Collection... We will see how it all works out! I have a feeling that once I start sorting through plants and grooming them, I'll come up with more leaves than I think. The person with the most (uncalled) picks remaining on their card will also get something, as will the person with the most correct IDs (with the earliest time stamps on their posts or edits, LOL).

Homosassa, FL(Zone 9a)

i have really enjoyed reading all the posting thats going on,sure have picked my day up. and i need only 2 more

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

My fingers are crossed for everyone, LOL!

Since yesterday's last call wasn't until 10 pm, I'm going to make today's call (probably just one) this afternoon so everybody has a chance to check their cards & see if 'Rob's Gundaroo' is their "Bingo!" pick.

Thomasville, GA(Zone 8a)

This has been fun. I find myself at the computer even during the night since our time is so different. I only need one, but have only needed 1 since 11/16. I don't know the avs as well but have enjoyed looking them up. What is so unique about the Russian avs, except the price? Good luck everyone. Elaine

Drumheller, Alberta, Canada(Zone 3a)

And I still need 2.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I guess y'all need to work on that dice-blowing thing. ;-)

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

LOL Jill, You need to call______________ then the fight is on..roflol.......Lauri

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Now you've got me really curious as to what this most popular variety is! I guess I'll have to wait to find out.... ;-)

(Zone 1)

Somebody PLEASE call Bingo soon ... The suspense is killing me as to the next call, and I'm getting tired of scrolling .... scrolling .... scrolling .... to get to the bottom of this thread to see who won!

I know it ain't me cause I still have 3 left on my card!

I've learned a lot about AV's just from participating in this bingo game! Thanks so much Critter for posting all those beautiful photo's! It's had me doing some research on some of them! I can see why there are so many "AV Addicts" out there! Georgeous Plants!

I'm going to be gone the rest of the day, but will check back tonight to see who won! I have a pretty good "feeling" that it will be today's call that will have the winner! I think a few folks are very close!

So, congratulations to whoever that is! Have a great day!

It's been fun y'all!

Lin

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

LOL, Lin. The suspense is getting to me too! BTW, there's a link at the top of each thread, "skip to new," that will let you avoid all that scrolling.

Homosassa, FL(Zone 9a)

critterologist

Red Oak, NC(Zone 7b)

I didn't know either. Jeez, we are silly folks!

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

We are not very observant...obviously, I had NO IDEA, it was up there either..LOL Just in too big a hurry to read the new post to actually look at the top of the threads...very nice to now though!

(Zone 1)

Oh, Now you tell me! LOL

Thanks! It is good to know, since I am not very patient! As a little kid, when in the car, I would constantly ask, "Are we there yet?", "Are we there yet?" !!!

Off to a Basketball Game ... (My second passion after plants)! Have a great day everyone!

Lin
