That is right Mitch, it was the second weekend with the Ross guys. I had forgotten about the haircut! LOL! It was a must to get through the doors.
I am truly sorry for your loss Sylvia. Good friends are hard to find now days. But like Dawn said you will always have the memories.
Hope you are still on the mend and getting around better.
Sylvia' s Plant Moving party!
You will not believe what has happen now! Remember that room I reserved at the Best Western in Brehiem(sp for the RU? I forgot all about it and they debited my check card for 112.00! Sheila you are supposed to remind me of these things. :) ... and I was going to stay with Linda anyway if I went to the RU! I made 100.00 deposit tonight and had a balance of 39.40! ...this error cost me 33.00. I will be glad when this dark cloud over my head is gone. I really need to pray. :)
Mitch you guys were supposed to cut back things anyway. last weekend I went out and back the Lorpetalum and the Rose of Sharon. I really need to get them in the ground. Greg didnt come over last weekend as he was supposed to. It was the first of the month and he got his check, so I guess he didnt need my "chump change". LOL i was going to round up some of the Ross street gang this weekend but that Best Western error got me in a slump... oh well I will get over it.
Dawn I need to find my invoice to get the name of that vine ... as if I know where anything is. lol
Sylvia, is that one of the vines I brought you? If so, that would make it 'Constance Elliott' or 'Incense'.
Linda, those are both really nice, I especially like the 'Constance Elliott.'
.sssooo Linda there you are.. Linda spring time will be here before you know it. I might take off the friday before, get my courage up and drive to Houston. I am still catching it with this left leg though its hurting less often, but the pain is more excructiating. I am still thinking about getting some of the Ross street gang for saturday.
I remember now Dawn it was a Constance.... I hope my Lysiamancia(? is out there.
Sylvia, I had no idea what was going on! Sorry I couldn't help. But I did enjoy reading this thread. I laughed so much DD had to come in to see what I was laughing about. She even read some of it. It was really great to read about how the DG community comes together when it's needed.
Sounds like you had a Round UP of a different sort.:) Are you settling in? You really should work on your timing you know. But I'm glad you finally did something about your hip. You have about 5 months to heal before the next RU. Maybe if you stay focused on that you'll heal faster?
Marylee I havent done anything about the hip yet ... but soon as My SS kicks in I will. I am looking at July. I cant go through another winter of this ... and now I am walking with a cane. Even if I do get the hip replaced I will still have arthiritis. but I will bw able to walk.
Yes DG people Are GOOD people! When I got home from the hospital that day. I cried. I wish you could have seen the before and after. When I think about a plant that might have got left behind, it always show up. Its just amazing! I just found that Acanthus that was hiding under the fig tree. I am hiring a garden to get as much planted out front as possible. No worry about the Hostas, this is their rejuvanating peroid.
That is one incredible story! I hope you can find a good gardener for your planting. Maybe you can find one through DG?
I have a guy ... just got to find someone to translate. :)
Just read this entire thread. I was newbie to DG and didn't know anything about the move......or many of the people. Sylvia, I guess my place was the final recipient of a lot of the things you gave to Mitch. When he moved,he would just show up at my house with dozens of plants I would put them in the ground wherever not knowing anything at all about gardening. I wan't in too good shape myself at the time. After having back surgery in Aug. 08 I had wonderful surprise as many DGer's showed up to "put the garden to bed". I can never thank The Lord enough for leading me to DG. I have friends now that mean as much or more as blood family.
Christi
I feel the same way Christi.
Josephine.
Agreed. Where is my group hug emotion???
And you two were the main players. I will never forget your unselfishness.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, everybody!
Christi, I hate to burst your bubble, but I was only involved in the good wishes, Sheila, Smockette, Partrob and many others were the real workers.
Josephine.
I was speaking of my garden, Jo. Never walk past the bed of iris and daylily that I don't see you and Sheila hard at work.
Well yes, that one I did help with, and it was a real pleasure, we will have to come and see those Iris this spring.
Oh my where did you find this thread? It brings back such fond memories.
Luv Yall! :)
Just searched on Sylvia's move or something like that. Threads never die they are just hiding in limbo!
