Seed Swap #2

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I am going to start, as of today, just noting on top when seeds have been received. Please check at the top of this thread to verify that I have your seeds.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Mine will be there on Halloween!

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

yikes! Mine need to dry out before I get them.. I wasn't able to this past weekend. We are having serious rain. I'm still on board though! :)

Susan

Clearfield, PA(Zone 5a)

I sent my seeds out yesterday. This is the first time I have ever been in a swap like this, so I hope I did it right. ~~Sandy~~

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm sure everything will be fine Sandy. Not a problem Susan.

Northern Michigan, MI(Zone 5a)

I just sealed my bubble envelope and it is sitting with my stuff for the post office tomorrow morning on my way to work !!! I made a list of seeds (some I harvested, some I bought, and some were extras from generous DGer's...lol), I put in postage and a mailing label so I think I got it covered... =0)

I'm soooooooooo excited....lol

Thanks for doing this swap !!

~Julie =0)

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I hope you like what you get in return, Julie

Winterville, GA(Zone 8a)

Anita,
My seeds went out in this morning's mail. They're on their way! All but the hollyhock seeds were grown and harvested in my garden.

JoAnn

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

excellent!

I've already started to divy out the seeds from the packages I've received so far. George, you sent quite a few more packets than expected and I am trying my best to make sure that you get a good variety in return. This is proving difficult as alot of people [I do this too] sent duplicate submissions or they sent the same as some of the others members. I'll keep everyone up to date on the status.

Polkton, NC(Zone 7b)

No worry with me Anita : ) I had a bumper crop and was happy to share. I don't expect an even return. Thanks.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

That is good of you George, but I'll do my best.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Hi everyone! I hope you have gotten your seeds in the mail if you haven't sent them already. I love to see what people grow. As I said before, I've already started the sorting and as long as everyone has their seeds to me in time, I should be able to ship the packages out by Saturday the 4th.

This has really been a lot of fun. Perhaps we can do it again in February. At that time we will have been well into our Wintersowing and would have a good idea of what we have left over and might still need. Let me know you think?

Anita

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

I haven't, but I hope to get it done by Saturday.
sorry to be laggin'...

Susan
=^..^=

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Susan.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Anita, I think you forgot to write me back the other day. LOL

I'm going to go ahead and mail these tomorrow. I did find something else to add to all the others.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

As I sit here writing "badseed" on the additional seed packs, I am reminded of my early days of trading, some 12 or so years ago. The pack does NOT say "bad seeds". LOL They are good seeds from badseed, really!!!

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

ROFL

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh sure! Laugh! When I first tried to trade, no one would touch anything I had. Then slowly people started trading with me. A few actually asked if I was going to send out bad seeds. LOL Like I was going to say yes??? It's a really good thing that a few people decided to give me a chance, or I'd have nothing. :)

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

I can see where the problem would lay, lol
But it is funny, lol
Some people read something and don't catch on to quick. :o)
But dang it, you just got to love that user name... ;-)

Connie

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Yeah, but it causes problems too. My nicks are bad, the seed and of course BS. Mmmm Hmmm. People that don't like me especially enjoy the references of BS being involved and the ever so popular just takes one bad seed. Good thing I have a strong back and shoulders. ;)

I did laugh hard though when people asked if I would send bad seeds.

I've actually talked about changing it a few times and was met with major resistance. LOL

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

rofl, don't change the name, make ppl's mind work and wonder :o)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I haven't changed the name since 1993 so there is a pretty good chance everyone is stuck with it. :)

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

lol,

I am no good at screen names, or all the ones I like are all ready taken, so I just stick with the same o same o lol...

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

That was sort of my problem in the beginning. All the names I liked were taken. Either I am not really imaginative or everyone shares the same likes. LOL

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

You will be happy to know that I have my package ready to mail out tomorrow. Finally.....

I apologize for being so slow. But I did get another 209 bulbs in the ground today. yippeee

Susan
=^..^=

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

another 209???? Yikes!

My screen name was from when I first joined AOL at least 10 years ago! I did a play on my name...
Anitabryk2 = I need a break too!

Looking forward to getting all the packs swapped and out in the mail again. I am hoping that everything will be in and I can get them back out by the 4th.

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Ummm, I don't think mine actually got out until Tuesday either. I don't think you'll miss it though. LOL

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Whew! For once, I'm not last. This will probably be the only time in my life. . . . .

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I received this email from Illoquin, which I thought was very nice.
Hi Anita,

Some of your people are AWOL on other swaps, too. I have some extra seed -- would you want me to fire it off to your 1st thing tomorrow (or tonight) from the post office for your swap?

It would be there by Tuesday.

I have common seeds-- and that's what I'd want in return.

I have Four O'clocks, Liatris, Great Solomon's Seal & Marigold 'Golden Guardian'. I also have about 8 packs of Rudbecki hirta 'Indian Summer'. I could send all one thing or several of each, or you could pick what you need to round out your swap.

Suzy

If no one minds, I am going to await her package and send out everything this coming week

Anita

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Anita,

If you think we'll still be short, I can send more. Let me know.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I should be fine. Thanks.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Anita, did you try d-mailing them? they could be having problems that's holding them up...

cg

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I don't mean to sound rude, but we are all adults and I shouldn't have to chase after anyone that signed up for a swap. If they are having difficulties or need to back out, there is no reason why they can't contact me. As soon as I get Suzy's package, I'll divy everything up and send out what I have. Thanks.

Renton, WA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Anita, I appreciate getting this swap completed. I understand if someone is awol and they have more important things to worry about than seeds. But no need for the rest of us to wait.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Suzy emailed a few people and Fran is one who wrote her back...
Here is what Fran had to say:

Oh Dear I am so sorry. I went on vacation and forgot. Please forgive me and I will get the seed in the mail Monday. Thanks for telling me. Fran

I appreciate the assistance, but after I receive Fran's package that will be it. Again, I know this sounds rude, but the rules were posted and were there to keep this swap to a time schedule. Thanks again.

Hanson, KY(Zone 6a)

Hi Anita & everyone,
I am so very sorry for not sending my seeds to you on time. I do apologize to everyone involved in this swap.

I have been down with the flu for the last couple of weeks. It was a bad one and I pray none of you get it.

Take me off the list and I will completely understand. The rules are there for everyone and should be followed. I will try to catch the next swap and mail my seeds off as soon as I enter my name on the list next time.

My sincere apologizes to you all,
rainy_jane

RJ, sorry to hear you've been sick. I know its going around at our church, one of the men there that plays the banjo and guitar has had it now going on his 5th week... His wife plays the piano and was telling us that Elmer hasn't picked up either instrument since he came down with this bug... Nothing seems to be helping him either. Don't know what the Doc's are going to do. It ended up turning in to pneumonia he is in his mid 70's...

Myself, I have been sick on and off since we came back from vacation the end of august... been having terrible sick headache's...
Now DH is trying to come down with something,

I blame it all on this crazy weather we have been having, cold one day then warm the next :( geesh... Even with the 20 something degrees and now its working its way back up to 60's here, What we need is a steady cold spell to kill all the germs going around..

You take care, hope you don't have a set back...

Connie
