Seed Swap #2

San Jose, CA

I'd love to participate. Count me in.

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

Wellllll.....if Badseed is gonna play, I sure want to play too. ;-)

I will get them to you by November 1, right? I am still waiting on some to ripen and with our 97 degree days right now, they ought to be ready by then.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Fran, Tracy and Susan - you are in!

Since I said that seeds mailed by October 25th should have enough time to reach me, I'll make that the cutoff date for signing up.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

But we need to know how many people will be playing in order to know how many packets of seed to send, no?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I believe you just mail 10 packs (more if you want) and you get 10 packs back.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Oh I see -- I thought we would send in as many packs as there are participants, but that it was originally limited to 10 participants. Got it!

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Would it make sense to add the plant's zone to the label, so that participants in the north will not get a lot of seeds that aren't hardy for their area (unless they specifically request that)? Obviously it may not be possible to tailor it that closely, but if you are willing . . ..

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Good Idea on the zones. I don't think zone's would make a difference with annuals, but would for perennials. On your written list, put your Name/DG Name and zone. I will make sure that you don't get a perennial that doesn't fall into your zone. Yes - only 10 seed packets each please. :)

Polkton, NC(Zone 7b)

I would like to join in - will be my first time.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

You're in George - welcome aboard.

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

I'm not participating in this swap, I'm in the first group, so just offering an opinion here. About not sending periennial seed out-of-zone; I have several plants not hardy for my zone. I grow them in pots and overwinter in my basement or in a sunny window or under lights. I don't think zones should be a considration. I really enjoy these plants and they seem to do well indoors over winter. If you haven't tried some of these, I think you're missing out on some great plants.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

I agree beaker, there are so many for the high zones that I like and would like to try even if they are as an annual here and I would have to bring them in for the winter. cg

Northern Michigan, MI(Zone 5a)

I grow things in containers or as annuals that aren't for my zone. The nice part about "not" growing things that are your zone is you get a break from the common and what everybody else has....lol. I like it when somebody comes over and says ooooooooooo, aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh what is that and where did you get it =0)

I'd rather not be restricted to "zone" for the swap. Besides which anything I get that I am unfamiliar with I'm going to look up on Dave's and google anyway.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

good point everyone. My suggestion would be to make a note on your seed list if you wish to be restricted to your zone. I think that should cover that? Sound good?

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

sounds great Anita :o)

I got all my other obligations full filled and I am working on my seed packs for this trade so I should be able to get them out this week... :o)

I ran into a snag (thought I'd be through seperating the chaff by now)but I'll get them to you in plenty of time to bet the Nov 1st dead-line.

Northern Michigan, MI(Zone 5a)

Haven't sent the seeds out yet, plan to work on my "stash" more this weekend. Will definitely be out before the deadline !! I've been waiting for some seeds I want to add, but I think the snow is coming tomorrow and it will be too late for them , they aren't quite ready yet.

I'm not ready for snow....lol

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Not a problem everyone.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Anita, I mailed my seeds to you last evening. I sent all of the same type seeds but failed to enclude a list of seeds per your instructions. Dummy me, don't know why I just decided to re-read the instructions when I've already mailed my envelop. Blonde moment....

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

No problem.

Salt Lake City, UT

Mine are in the mail.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)
