We were on CNN Headline News!

Aurora, CO(Zone 5a)

Cool beans, Dave! We get CNN piped in at work. I wish I'd seen this.

There's Dave's Garden shirts? Gotta get me one!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Fantastic Airtime Dave!!!! Way to go....bet you are smiling for sure, I am. That was a nice piece and on CNN!! Thanks for sharing the link since I missed it.
Oh, don't forget to put it in the News section...THAT is definately noteworthy.
Sheila

White_Hydrangea, in case you don't know how to get the shirts, go to Home and click the tab that says Extras, it is listed there.

Brigham City, UT(Zone 5b)

Dave, congratulations, A TV star, Now don't go getting a big head and all.

What I like most about Dave's Garden is the friends I feel I have made. We all have so many of the same interests. I love it. Wish I would have known about it sooner, I got my computer for Christmas last year, and found this site as I was searching for plants, also my friend told me about it, I just didn't realize how great a site it is.You are truly the Gardening Guru.

Why did they say 'gardening for dummies' ??? I think that's kinda stinky

Edited to say any press is good press

All I can say is "w00tage for DG" you are way too kewl & we love ya!

My daughter has been a DG fanatic for several years in AR. I joined DG after I moved to Tamarac, FL & needed help rekindling my green thumb for a new zone (It had almost gone brown from a N. balcony in Miami). I've found a fantastic group of people out here around FtL, FL and enjoy them so very much!

What is terrific! I agree that we need to let the press in on our roundups - they're just the kind of human-interest stories people like to read about. Gardening spans such a wide range of socio-economic groups, too.

Congrats, Dave & Trish!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I just checked back on one of our local newspapers' websites and saw they included a bit about DG. I started a separate thread here: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/638180/

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Hope we can all cope with the influx of new members! Such opportunity to communicate with gardeners everywhere, and share our experience. Thanks, Dave

Pittsboro, NC(Zone 7a)

Wow! I just saw this. Watched the clip - FANTASTIC!

Lakes of the Four Se, IN(Zone 5a)

Dave, I look forward to watching the clip from home tonight. By starting this website you have performed a great service to plant lovers -- not just in the U.S., but worldwide!

Did you ever think this would become such a great enterprise? It's the only resource I ever need, now. I never touch my gardening books anymore. I have learned so much from my fellow DG subscribers. There is always someone available to answer a question/concern or to identify a cultivar. To say this is great would be an understatement!

Tucson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Definite high 5's on that clip!! Awesome. Now we ALL really should have a DG tshirt!! People would point and say "hey..I saw that on CNN!!"

Congrats!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Since AOL/CNN will probably take that link down eventually, I saved the clip and uploaded just the DG portion to Youtube and Google Video. You can find the clips at those sites by searching them for davesgarden! :)

Thanks!!!!!

Thanks Gardenwife - good job!

Cochise, AZ(Zone 8b)

Maybe it's time to set up a section of the site for reviews etc... Sort of an "I'm not bragging BUT" area. My son who does some programing was looking at the site this weekend. Said "He's good". But we already knew that!

Key West, FL(Zone 11)

Congratulations Dave,
Did the new membership numbers jump at all because of it. Will we ever be anble to post WMFs or other video files on the site?. What a great way that would be to share landscape ideas.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Congrates you guys,

I couldn't help but smile while watching, thinking how the complaints where going to fly in from retailers when membership rises because this. Then all the trading and sharing and generosity (spelling?) will cause sales to go down at retail stores. Just kidding, It will not happen that way but that is what came to mind. hehehehe

great publicity and kuddos to you,

calvin

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

I got the youtube site to let me see it - you're famous. Oh, we already thought you were the greatest for making us a place to be. And oh, my I am glad you didn't name us Gardening for Dummies. We ain't no stinkin' dummies [ well, I am, but I get my answers here].

Seriously they got half the information right, which isn't bad for a news organization. LOL

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

I couldn't get it on the original link, but gardenwife's link to youtube came right up.
Nice to see national recognition of such a great site, Thanks Dave!

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Congrats, congrats, congrats!

Whoooo hoooooo!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Wow! Have you noticed an increase in membership since that aired?

Gives me goosebumps!!

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

Whoa,,,,CNN, that's Great. I just watched it and, and, how cool is that?!!

Next step,,,,a Super Bowl commercial !!! LOL

I'm also wondering if there has been a noticeable increase in traffic and/or members since that aired. Would be interesting to know,,,

Kudos Dave!

I had checked the logs and didn't see any appreciable increase in traffic since the CNN scene was aired. We already have so many visitors each day, though, that an extra couple thousand people a day really wouldn't be noticed.

Loveland, CO(Zone 5b)

I saw us on TV, too! :) Our local station ran a different edit of this same spot... unfortunately, they misquoted the membership price at $15/month, instead of per year.

I was also VERY excited to see "us" on the news :)

YEAH

Sarah

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Sarah, that's exciting (even if they got the $$$ wrong...at least if people come here thinking it's $15 a month, they're in for a pleasant surprise when they discover it's $15 for a year!) Which station was it?

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

this place just blows me away! :')

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I recommend this site to so many people here in Ottawa, Canada (Zone 4b-5a). There's so much to learn from ppl's everyday gardening experience. What a fabulous resource!

I also make a point of contributing to PlantFiles whenever I can, and have started documenting some of the many trees in the Dominium Arboretum, part of the Central Experimental Farm of Agriculture Canada (I am not affiliated, but take my dog there frequently). Though most contributors are American, I hope to add some insight for northern gardeners.

yes, tell Dave which station got it wrong and he'll get another 15 seconds on air when they correct it. LOL

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Now that's good thinking! See, I hadn't even thought about that - I just wanted to see if they had a video clip on their website ;o)
