Opinions, Please!!??

Yes, some neighbors won't listen, I have a neighbor (2 doors down) that has 2 dogs, golden retriever and a black lab, Where I live it is law that all dogs be on a leash when outside or a fenced in yard (where they can't get out) They let them out of the house unattended and just let them roam where ever, The neighbors in the middle get the worse of it, Those male dogs have just about killed all her flowers and the other morning I saw the blk lab prancing out of my yard going home, b/c he did his business and was ready to leave. These ppl think they can do what ever they please, where ever they please. Just the other night they were playing hard rock til midnight, the whole neighborhood could hear it, I had to shut my windows and could still hear it.
I Love all animals but we don't have any, I am allergic to most now. Age I guess :o)
I told my dh, I don't want to really harm the dogs, it's not there fault, But I had an idea and I think I have dh convinced it is a good idea :o) I am going to borrow his brothers paint gun and see how they like their dogs in different colors...
Some ppl you just can't talk to, THEY WON"T LISTEN. so you have to take action. :o) cg

Well the paint idea is a funny one! Seriously, though you wouldn't want to be arrested for animal cruelty.

You can do two things about those neighbors.... if the noise is too loud call the cops. Here if there is loud music after 10pm the cops will come out if called and tell them to turn it down. City ordinance against it.

Re the dogs: There may be some scent you can get to keep them off your property though I don't know, how well it works. http://www.predatorpee.com/
Otherwise it may have to come down to calling animal control . I know that's harsh , the dogs themselves aren't at fault. Their owners may just start keeping them in after paying a hefty fine to get them out of "doggy jail".
However if they only let them out "after hours" then it will be hard for the dog catcher to round them up.

You might consider putting the dogs presents into a plastic bag, then hanging the bag on their front door with a note that they'd forgotten something that belongs to them. If everyone in the neighborhood returns their "lost" items, they might get the hint.

Cegoins, I love the paint idea! Otherwise, call the cops. People don't like them showing up at the door. Of course, we're supposed to have the town cop take care of our problems. Problem is, we only have one around off and on. Never when we need one. Deputies hate to have to come and do a lowly dog case. They aren't doing anything else. I know because I have a scanner.

You don't have to give your name to the dispatch either. Just say you fear retaliation. The cops say they don't tell who called, but I don't trust them. I say I'm representing the neighborhood.

As an Accomplished Prankster, I love the paint idea, and wrapping up doggy presents and delivering them is great!!! It would be fun to organize some civil disobedience and round up the neighbors and paintball/tp their house at 4:00 AM!!! LOL--can I come and help???

I thing the people need to be punished, not the dogs. If you have an Animal Control officer, you can contact him/her and report loose dogs and have the licenses checked. These people don't understand that there is a good chance the dogs will be hit by a car (or shot, paint balls or buck shot). There are many people in your position who would poison the dogs, too.

My neighbor at the back of my house (about 20 years ago) fed meat soaked in Freon to our little Min-Pin and she had the shakes for the rest of her life. All she did was bark at them WHEN she was out doing her business....and she was a HOUSE dog. Hmmmm hadn't thought of that in years.....I guess I have a problem across the "fence" again!!!

That's cruel and sick! Min-pins are neat little dogs.
