Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Ok here we go.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

It's not so bad watching him from the front, it's the back view that gets you. Let's just say.......remember Austin Powers, when he had his shirt off?
April, I don't know what you look like but, I would probably place a call to the HOA....we have rights ya know. lol

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Well I don't know why I can't garden in the nude in my own yard! Really I rarely cross the property line!

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

april...thanks for the new link!!!

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

It is so nice out right now. A nice breeze blowin. My thermometer is still sayin 90 but it feels great with the breeze. Still haven't seen a drop of rain. Supposed to be a tropical depression on its way by Wednesday or Thursday but they said it probably wouldn't make it this far north.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

I went to the beach with my friend a few years ago. While she went to play in the ocean I got her camera and took a bunch of shots of some guys for her. These were the ones that should have been wearin shirts on the beach and not wearin the speedo's either. She was so mad when she got the pics developed. I can't understand why. LOL! She hasn't been back to that drug store since.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

REAL good reason to have a digital camera and a delete button!

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

Wow you are all so fast with these posts already!

Sticks, I love this forum more and more myself! Seems people in Texas really are friendlier. =)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

ROFLOL!!! That is just wrong!!! Wish I had thought of it!! LOL!

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

Scoolie, you are so bad!

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Boerne new zone 30, TX(Zone 8b)

Tir - dmail me your email ady and I will go to the freecycle group and send you an invite. It is usually a lot easier to do it that way.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Dallas, TX

Gee i wonder what the people at the drug store thought? lol I am told they are not allowed to look at the pictures or comment on them. but if the see one in error you know they are going to look again.lol

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

lol...I work all day and get all comfy and cushiony here in my chair and find out that everyone left our old Texas Heat thread, lol... But this is MUCH better..and its loading reeeal fast! :D

What in the world are ya'll talkin' about around here? lolol...speedos? *cough* Please......I'm beggin ya....no speedos...lol

Is it me...or I am the only one who pretty much sticks to this Texas thang?.....I dunno....I sort of lurk around the other forums and peek into threads a bit...even visited Great Britain, which was interesting because you can almost hear their accents..lol. Which is probably what they say about our accents around here...lol But I just feel more at home....with folks who know the regions around Texas. Its a Texas thang... :) ...... ya'll.... :D

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

Ditto TxT, I'm always tempted to ask things that don't fit the forum name "Texas GARDENING" just because it's important to ask geographical questions: like where are the best Goodwills. =)

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

lol Tir_,...how 'bout if I DMail you the locations of some of the best Goodwills in SA...lol ;)

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

lmbo @ the cam story Scoolie . . . that's just WRONG :)) :))

Yeah! We got an inch of rain tonight :) All my dance'n finally paid off . . . hopefully everyone will get some by week's end. :)

PS. I couldn't agree more TxT . . . this is so much better for us dial up folks . . . 441 replies was get'n a bit long for the loader.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Saaay, I think we did get a bit of rain last night...I was out walkin' around in the back yard a while ago and noticed that my wheel barrel had some water in it...I got home from work late last night....and didn't get to see that...so thats definitely a good thing.. :) Lookin' cloudy this am too.... :):)

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

We got rain, good hard rain.

Scoolie, I bet she doesn't go on vacation w/ you anymore! LOL. You are too funny.

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

okay TxT.

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

I don't know about you guys but I just walked outside and it's so hot and so humid- yes the rain always does good and gives us a break but oh the next day is awful!

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

Yeah, did my morning walk thing and sweating buckets!

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Fly-
I didn't get to the front yard yesterday, so I have to mow today! Yikes! Want to come help? Think of all the impurities we will lose in the sauna!
A

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

Excuse me! April, I have no impurities heehee

I mowed yesterday, today I had to pull the SA away from the sprinkler heads, I let it go and the grass was turning brown. I would love to get rid of that grass, it's such a pain!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

lol @ the heat....I just got back from Rainbow and my usual Sunday nursery thing...and its HOT out there....yah, since the wee rain last night, its huuuumid out there....and the snout butterflies are so plentiful they almost carried my purchases away..lol... ALOT of em down this way....making their way to somewhere or another... :) They seem to really the hackberry trees.....

Came away with some interesting purchases...4-nerve daisies...red ruellia....and some bee balm. I've just gone crazy for this type of daisy..! Wonderful little plant .... love the yellow blooms.. :)

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

For your browning grass try using ironite on it. DH bought some at HD and it really greened up the lawn and we don't have to water as often anyways.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

What happens is the SA grows around the sprinkler heads and they won't pop up, so the grass just fries. I tend to forget to check them often enough.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Hi guys, just jumping back in here. I've been out in the garden this morning uprighting pots that got blown over in last night's rain storm. Boy, here in west Houston we got some pretty good wind, a lot of rain and a really big lightning storm. I should have know it would rain since I watered everything yesterday morning! My grass looks like it shot up 2 inches overnight. The humidity is so high that even the mosquitos are complaining.

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

txt ...no i like hanging at the texas thing....or thang...; yall get it....whatever it is...; it is a region....it is a state...it is a culture...it is a mentality...i prefer here.....i said last night that i used to post here and in the appropriate forum...ie trees...etc...and in the trees forum i would get one answer to every 3 or 4 in the texas forum.....we get IT....(whatever IT is....we do(grin)

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

waaaaaahhh no rain here......

crow, even the squitos are complaining?? (grin) that is baddddd

ok all i did my early morning thing and did 4 hours.....then crashed at noon.....for 2 hours....was easier today....(but not alot easier)....gotta run errands...see yall later:)

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Rain? What rain? Humidity we got!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes Rain, and if my "weather knee" is any indicator, more's comin'! LOL, I've turned into Granny Clampitt. I can judge how much weathers coming from how many joints ache. When it hits the elbows, look out, it's a hurricane. I actually got out in this heat and made a run to Cornelius and Lowe's trying to find something to put in a REALLY big pot to go by the front entry. DH says I must be ill because we left both places empty handed. I think he's considering calling the ambulance. I need a break from this heat and vacation is weeks away.

Podster where in East Texas are you? I grew up there and family goes back 100's of years there. I miss pine forests!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

lol sticks......zactly... :) It definitely is a THANG....living in Boston made me feel like an alien...but I had alot of fun with it too...and everyone got a kick out of my ya'lls and howdys, lol. Ok...I probably hammed it up a WEE bit..... but daaaang, their caahs and pahking lots were a hoot too...lol....My honey is from Baahston...and to this day, he can't quite get use to the idea of Texas hospitality, i.e., driving on a highway shoulder to let a guy get around you...and then waving back at em after they thank ya... :) Its a great state of mind, to be sure... :)

It looks stormy....but nothing is happening...but I hear that the east side of SA is stormin'...! Too much cloud teasin' goin' on....

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

Granny, I hear you, I've got an old battle scar that flairs up when it's getting ready to storm.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Wooooo hooooo . . . guess muh extre lil shake'n in that last rain dance I did paid off :) We just got another nice shower out here south of town.

. o O (I knew I should have waited to clean up that moss ball/little branch mess left from last night's storm!!!)

Oh well . . . it's hard to complain when ya been beg'n for rain for months.

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

txt.....i bet your hubby was charmed by you .....you lil southern bell.....; i moved to arizona briefly and the same thing happened....men just loved my southern bell ness...and i don't even think i have a texas drawl....but apparently i do...it was fun being admired...but i do love this state....would almost give up everything tho to live back in dallas....; but a funny thing happened when i was working on my masters here at texas tech....i got on a single web page back in 97.....when it was REALLY scary to meet people on line....i was hoping when i finished my masters i could go back to dallas or houston(i wasn't picky) and marry whomever i met on the webpage....WELL...who do i meet...this lil countryboy born and bred here in mcadoo texas.....pop...23; thought i was such a city girl and marry a country boy!!!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Anyhoo.... :) I'm not a southern bell, fer pete's sake, lol.....I don't think I actually have a twang....I've even been asked if I was from Great Britain..lol...or the east coast...which is pretty much JUST like Great Britain..if ya think about it.. lol...

lol @ your moss ball mess, GD....and here I was going to bring ya a bag of those too...along with the skunk weed and mistletoe...lol And of course, that big ole china berry tree.. ;)

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

txt....how funny about your 'un hubby'.....we did the same thing....met online in 97...got engaged 9 months later, had to cancel getting married cause i got ill for several years....so we lived in SIN....but we had to lie and say we were married cause we were in this small town....THEN when we did finally decide we wanted to marry in 04.....WELL, we couldn't tell anyone, cause they thought we were married.....oh brother.....

as for the tx twang....i was an airforce brat....so i don't think i have an accent either....but when i got to az....they said that the world yall......made me a texan ...how funny...by the time i left az....i was saying you guys which didn't make sense cause i was talking to girls.....and i am back to yall.......how did yall meet on line??
