Yazoo Wild Violet ..
What's Growing, Part 4
Iris ~ I love "Yazoo Wild Violet" and "Prairie Moonlight", I can picture them together!
Not to sound stupid....but what is "GD lilies are so pretty." LOL I have an idea but not sure...enlighten me!
Dave - I liked the waterlilly, now stop taking pictures in pixie's yard will you
Iris - that Jambalaya grabs my eye
Dave ~ I like the water lily too......but stay out of my yard!!!! LOL
Al ~ Thank you for the info.....i'll try the peat moss and if that doesn't work I'll just resign myself to buying Dahlia's every year!!! (Not that I haven't already)
Pixie, You had a post above that said " Grandaughter's Lilies are in blooming great, she has many more buds in yellows and pinks coming soon." Thats where the 'GD' comes from, I guess I was too lazy to write it out lol!
I was going to get Moonlight Masqerade over the weekend, But, The lady said that it will need protection in my our area,
Does yours do well for you? Do you have it in a protected area? I just love that one and might still go get it!
The other DL's and Lillys you posted are really nice! That last one posted, Really did put on a nice show for you! Did you ever purchase a Wayside King Royale? The Unamed 2 above ( Not the pink, But the other) Looks a lot like it.
The lady you got Amethyst Temple from is probably right on the ID, Some can look so much the same but be totally different, Now that I've seen your new pics of it , It does look a little different. I'll get a pic of mine later to show you, Mine hasn't opened yet though.
I have the same problem as you with the Dalhias, I tried everything to keep them over the winter, But nothing ever worked for me, They eaither rotted or got dried out!! Hope you have better luck with yours using the peat moss ( That didn't work for me either lol)
Bigcityal, Jambalaya is another one that stands right out in the garden, It can't be missed.
Iris ~ I think you might be right on the "Wayside"... has it got tall scapes? This one is a redish-purple color w/almost velvet petals. It was one of the 1st beds I made (I have 11 now) so I have a hard time to keep track of the flowers in it.
All your flowers are lovely but im partial to "Ruby Spider" and "Etched in Gold". As for "Moonlit Masquerade" I only have 6 words to say.........BUY IT, YOU WON"T BE SORRY!!! LOL
I have had mine for 3 years with no problems, I do have a couple of inches of mulch, but thats it. I love that plant, every year it thrills me when it blooms. It does seem a bit slow to clump, but I don't care...i'll wait. (could be becuse its crowded right now...need to thin some of the other out)
OK...GD=Grandaughter's Lily, not Gosh Darn or G_d D_mn, wasn't positive. LOL
I don't know the names, she came over w/a bag of Trumpet Lilies and said "Memere...lets plant!" That was 2 years ago when she was 5, its nice for her to come and see the rewards of her work. This year she planted "her own" garden at her house. My daughter told her that they would go to the Greenhouse to get plants to fill it, put her in the car, and pulled into my driveway. LOL
Crockny ~ Nice rambling rose, can't believe it's only 3 years old. I like the Monster Lilies but I LOVE the swing in the background! I too have the black hollyhocks, and yellow, but I don't see my pink one this year..I think I may have lost it but i really can't see how with all the seeds they drop!
ok - you guys are keeping me on my toes!!! All the pics are great..now I have to go out and take some pics....
Hurry Anita!!! LOL
Andy ~Thats a beautiful glad!!
Anita ~ Lovely pictures (as always). I love the pink phlox and the white lily. What is the name of it?
