Iris ~ Casa Blanca does look a lot like Amethyst Temple. Westward Wind looks like its a big flower and I love most any "Siloam" flower. Have a few different Siloams myself! The color of the un-named one is lovely and I have always been partial to Lavender Illusion.
William Austin Norris is beautiful, it is on my wish list for next year.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Iris, that Westward Wind must be spectacular in full bloom with that rich color and the size of the bloom. I like the white stripe. Mother Like Daughter is pretty. You must have an awesome collection, too. I also liked your Cranberry Cove above.

Pixie, the beauty and scope of your gardens are awesome!
I too, am amazed at how you do it. (In addition to your obviously excellent genes)
I live on a little less than an acre, have about 10-12 beds and can never keep up with mulching and weeding. Usually, when I'm overwhelmed, I start a new bed!

Dave
What is it about us? I come home tired from all the summer activities and work and cringe at the weeding yet to be done in my old beds. I had to grin weakly at the current poll going on where the 1st question is do you wish you had prepared your beds before you started? I inherited mine the way they are and it makes the work 100 times harder to weed in clay. The few beds I have dug up and redone - oh what joy to work in that soil. So easy to weed and move things around in soil that you can sift thru your fingers. And I don't have to change into gardening grubbies and boots to work in good soil.

ps that beautiful pink lily is another oriental - Casa Blanca is stark white - its my all time favorite lily followed by Black Beauty.

I love all the pics - I've been a lurker but I'm enjoying the photos. Keep em coming.

Dave ~ To be honest...my yard is a mess right now. I am at least a month behind in everthing due to the rain this spring. I am actually out in March & April cleaning beds and raking leaves. Lots of times I have a winter coat on and even mittens!!!! The other reason I'm having a hard time and struggling is my husband was hurt on the job 3 years ago and has been out of work ever since. He has had 3 operations in 3 years and that left me and my (now) 18 year old son to do everything. Did you notice in the pics. of my yard the little buggy? That is my life SAVER!!! It's a Yamaha Rhino 660 and it has a dump truck like body. I fill it up w/dirt, weeds, ect.. and then drive it to where I want to dump it. It also has a wench on the front in case I get stuck in the field, I can wrap it around a tree, give it some gas and it will pull me out. Like I said it has been my life saver.
Anita~ By the way...I was born in the city, am only a 20 year "country girl", but my husband said no one will ever know! LOL

Beachwood, OH

Yeah Pixie - I understand what you're saying. My DH broke his hip and I've been doing everything. I only hope to finish the chores before the end of summer so I'm not putting weeds to bed in November.

alyrics.....I hear ya. Get a Rhino! It really has been a life saver!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It the bottom right hand pic. of my yard you will notice a half dug spot. That is going to be a new flower bed so I can thin things out in the others. Providing I finish it before the snow flys! I don't know what comes over me sometimes....like I don't have enough to do already!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Todays flowers are to many to post as singles. Last night's rain brought lots of beauties forth! Even my "Vinca" is blooming again!

pixie what is the three petalled blue flower in the third collage [large, top right] I love it!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Same thing as the hot pink one in the bottom left hand side. LOL It's just a "Spiderwort" but my son showed me all these buttons and settings on MY camera and i've been playing around w/close ups. I love that photo too, suprised myself!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I also see that you purchased the program...

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

my son did...he loves it as much as me. I can now send pictures to my daughter in Florida every day. This is her 1st time living so far from home that she can't get here "in a couple hours". She misses seeing the flowers bloom, especially the lilies. She wants me to send her one of my lily bulbs in fall and she is going to try it in a pot in her apt. LOL So I send her pics every day so she can see whats blooming. In the subject line of the email I write "What's blooming @ Mom's?" , it brightens her days and she said she's not so home-sick.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I just got back from town and guess what I bought....yup another plant. Not a lily this time so maybe hubby won't be to upset! I got a Rose of Sharon Red Heart. Hope it blooms this year!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll keep my fingers crossed

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks, and i'll take pics.! lol

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Pixie, do you shop at the same place all the time? They must love to see you comin'. I love Rose of Sharon. Another plant that I haven't been able to fit in yet...but I will.

here's 'Lavender Delight', a mini rose that I got from The Uncommon Rose in a 3" pot, planted June 25th, and it bloomed today. Not bad. The plant is about 6" high and the flower 2" across.

Gram ~ Beautiful!
Yes to your question...they see me coming, they know what town I live in and what plants I already have. They love me!!!! LOL

Has anybody grown the double Asiatic lily called "Elodie"? It looked much lighter pink in the catalog. But this is the first bloom for me, so what do I know.

Pixie, Thanks, After reading Alyrics post I'm starting to wonder if Casa Blanca is Amethyst Temple, The tag on it said Casa Blanca, But, It could have been wrong. Westward wind Is a big flower, But, I had a bloom on Ruby Spider today that was 10 inches, I mostly collect DL's that have large blooms, I only have about 10 that have flowers that are under 5 inches. William Austin Norris is one of my favorites, It looks outstanding when it has 3 or 4 blooms at once!
Your collages are awsome, REally nice flowers! Nice close-up of the spiderwort, I'm going to look into that program when I have more time, I really like the collages that are being posted!

Grampapa, Thanks, Westward Wind is spectacular, I really like it a lot! I only have about 120 Daylilys ( I say only, Because they are my favorite plant, And I'd like to have a whole lot more!) and I have about an equal amount in perenials, shrubs, And Vines . I just love to go out everyday when the Dls are close to bloom and see which ones are open! ~ Your Lavender Delight is a Beauty!!!

alyrics, You are most likely right about the casa blanka, That was the name that was on it when I got it, But, I guess it was the wrong name, I was telling pixie that her Amethyst Temple looked just like my Casa Blanca, Now I know why! LOL!
