I don't understand either. Here's a snake a friend and I saw......anybody know what kind it is? Red bellied?

Still avoiding hitting the heat but I was looking up a salamander for my grandson last night and had the book right here so just had to check for your snake! From what I can tell, it is a Red-bellied snake and they "search for worms and slugs beneath rocks, lumber, leaves, and trash." They don't lay eggs but give birth. Interesting. They sound like a nice snake to have.

Thanks Mollie! Unfortuanately, the snake was on state land, about 1 1/2 hours away from me :o(

I'm holding off on my brush pile.....I ID'd the tree out back as a tree of heaven. And so far, the "happy juice" Equil gave me isn't doing a thing. Anyway, I need that thing out of here. It's in the area I want the brush pile in.
