Asking for a friend, lol. Neighbor is from Chicago and now lives next door in Central Florida. It is rainy season here and hot/humid. She is a lifelong gardener and had planted Jalapeno peppers, red/green/yellow bell peppers, cucumber and tomato on a small screened porch area. It gets approx 6-7 hours of morning sun. Plants were thriving as of two weeks ago. Suddenly, what appears to be a fungus, according to the lawn guy, has swept through the plants, along with some small flies, one black and another white cream color. She said looks like something eating leaves. She has tried 12% Hyd Peroxide 1 to 4 parts water on soil everyday for the past 4 days. Baking soda on soil 1x on soil. Vinegar and dish soap in sprayer on leaves, Copper fungicide, Neem Oil, and recently added mosquito bits, with BTI, along with fly paper to catch the bulk of flies. Attaching photos to help identify. What is going on. If she gives up and removes plants, can she still use soil if sterilized in the sun? Or does she need to throw all out and start from square one. She has fifteen 14 x 14 containers, so a lot of newly purchased soil. Any recommendations welcome. Blue on plant leaves is from copper.
