'spin, is your lychnis the magenta, or the white? If yours is magenta, I've got a 1 gal white flowered (occulata, I believe). That way don either gets one of each, or two whites, whatever......Could you use 2 of the berggarten and 2 of the nutmeg geranium? And what about 2 of the nepeta for blooms?
Sherry
edited to say that I just looked at one of your earlier posts and mentioned the magenta lychnis, answered my own question!

July 8th Roundup Trades
don,
Do you want some of the white lychnis also?
Sherry
DON save me one of those Dahlia's. Can I make cuttings from them? I will bring a Titanum.
Mark
Don: Great, an S.sinaloensis along with S.stenophyllas (dark and light blue!) and that will keep that area lower than the S.cacaliifolia which PERSISTED in mounding up and over the 5' fence right there. A large packet of each of those seeds for sure! And Blooms will pick out (dig) a few more of the first-year seedlings of Lychnis as well -- I have a myriad!
Sherry: I will take two Berggarten cooking sages (Trying to find the site they want to live in! I'll put one at each end of herb garden and on different tier/levels) -- but only one of the nutmeg sages: if it is like other pelargoniums, one could populate all of Santa Ana! And Blooms says one of Nepeta will be sufficient by same reasoning.
I will warn those (Sherry, Donna, Janice, Barb and Kathleen) on list for Passi-viti and S.cacaliifolia, they have wilted like crazy, despite us having rigged a shaded patio the likes of some growing areas. We are moving them around to keep in shade as much as possible (however, I had laser PRK today and it took longer than expected so they did get a bit of sun) (however, the heat or at least the humidity DID break today as forecasted by DrDon!) -- I'm all for bringing the mostly-gallon pots even if wilted -- I really think the roots will overcome! Blooms kinda doesn't want to bring unless showing "rebound", but HEY, this Passi came back in quintuplet from the mother plant being uprooted so *seems* like it's pretty tough! And the S.caca is A SALVIA! I really think it's coming right back!
Woo hoo -- 35 hours and counting!
~'spin!~
'spin, some of my stuff is looking yucky right now, too, heat, moved from sun to shade, yada yada, bring the passi, it'll recover. Of course, the things we've promised to people look the worst, everything else looks grand!

I didn't think I'd make it to the July RU (but now I can, yeah!) so I don't have anything fancy to trade. I do have a few tomato plants, hot pepper plants, dragonfruit cuttings, and white guava plants that I could bring. Anyone interested?
I dont have much and hope most of them are rooted
A couple Martha Washinton voodoo
A couple of other colors to but if there not blooming not sure which is which. But there either light pink or pink and white or purple or coral.
I think some of my dark dark purple pelargonium ivy geranium may be rooted to.
I can find some small Geranium Maderense's to dig up around the yard if anyone really wants those. These do not bloom for two years though.
I am interested in brug cuttings any thing but yellow.... Since Charles Grimaldi is all over the yard...
Steph,
I have a rooted cutting of Golden Lady, she is a Double cream, and I have Frosty Pink, Candida Double White that I can take cuttings for you. I also have some rooted brugs, that I will have to go out and see their names.
Donna
Super!!!!
I'm bringing tall bearded irises and anyone is welcome to them. Don't even attempt to tempt with any plants, I have done run out of space! That's all I have to offer folks. See ya'all manana!
Quyen, I'd love any pepper plants you are bringing. I have seeds for Joe's Long Cayenne (12" long) and Beaver Dam frying pepper.
Weegy, I'd love some irises...that's something I've been thinking about getting for a few years now.
You guys should know that I've been pretty much a vegetable gardener up until now, so I know very little about most of the plants you all have listed. Do any of you have plants that would do well in mostly shade? My mom has moderate Alzheimer's and loves flowers. She tends to overwater as she doesn't remember when she watered last. She still lives in a senior apt, with my daily help, where she has a small balcony area.
Corona~Barb
I just took a look at the Flower Time thread. Is anyone bringing daylilies? I just removed two big Fortnight Lilies out front and would like to replace them with daylilies. My mom would love them in the floral arrangements I make for her with my roses.
Thanks,
Corona~Barb
Quyen, I'd love a dragon fruit and guava.
kanita
Caronabarb, I have daylilies but cannot dig. You are welcome to come over and take your pick. I live about thirty minutes from you.
Ok, Coronabarb, got plenty of irises you then. I have daylilies also but won't be digging them before tomorrow. You are welcome to come take a look at them while they are blooming. My garden is in Chino. Let me know, or we can talk tomorrow.
Quyen, dragon fruit and guava would be great if you have enough!
Kathleen/kaperc
Helllllp! I can't fit it all in....can we do this again next week?!!!! I've got my Cherokee parked in the shade, all windows open, jamming plants in...knew I didn't dare wait til tomorrow. Stay focused.....plants, hamburger buns, potato salad, cooler, chairs, labels. My neighbor thought she would be riding with me...bad news, sunshine! Well, at least I know I'm not alone. I'm sure you're all doin' the same...
Sherry
Hee hee, Sherry! I don't know yet, but assume it will be a similar story here! There is a reason for the MINI in minivan! I figure to pull out the back-bucket seats and slide the back bench seat up to the middle (as far forward as it will go and still have the seat down)... then me sit on it as I have the shortest legs -- and I'll share it with the cooler and the chairs! Plants in back.
Had plenty-many errands, and got home to too-hot to deal with it... although the humidity does seem to have broken somewhat, yesterday, as Don predicted... Hurray for that.
Still have three 5-gallon buckets of seed-heads to semi-clean and bag, as well as UNLOADING the van of the sundry stuff that finds itself living in my vehicle. Sun must get a little lower!
~'spin!~
Corona-Barb, I'll bring you Goat's Weed and a mystery hot pepper. I had a little accident with my pepper seedlings this year so I don't really know which one is which anymore.
Kanita and Kathleen/kaperc, potted white guavas and dragonfruit cuttings for you.
Woohoo! Thanks Quyen!
Quyen do you have another dragon fruit and guava?
Is it tomorrow yet?
I have one more white guava and lots of dragonfruit cuttings. Your name is on a set, Janice.
Janice,
1 more hour till tomorrow. lol I bet Fiona will have a hard time getting to sleep tonight. See ya in the morning.
Donna
Quyen,
If you see this before you go, what is Dragonfruit? Is it something I would like. ;-)
Corona~Barb
Corona~Barb,
Here's a link to my plant and fruits from last year. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/540734/
I'll bring a few extra cuttings just in case you want to give it a try.
Hi all!
Sorry about our late arrival, but what with my blinky eye and all the hand-shaking and hugging, the seeds that Blooms and I semi-sorted did not get offered around much.
I did just post them to Seed Trading forum, but anyone that wanted them from the RU, speak fast!
D-mail me specifying which seed(s) you are interested in.
(1) Nigella damascena -- great-grandchildren of "Persian Jewels", selected each year from blue flowers. Pretty much the ones that come up and flower for me, are pods I simply shake out in areas I like to have them and then maybe stir to cover. I.e. no special care needed. Flowers first year (self-seeding annuals).
(2) Lychnis coronaria. This is a biennial that looks like Lambs' Ears the first year and flowers second year on 2-2+' stalks. Depending on your climate and this year's PARTICULAR weather patterns, you might get some confused Indian summer blooms, like if you get the seeds in the ground and the lambs'ears rosettes form, then you get a cold snap with a little rain, and then it warms up -- the plants could be fooled. It has happened here. Usually flowers in the spring/late spring, however. Self-seeds. Here, it is happier to grow OUTSIDE the prepared beds (in disturbed but not improved adobe clay) as in them.
(3) Leonotis menthifolia. Some sites seem to suggest that this is the SAME as L.nepetafolia; I can't say for sure... but is more attractive than L.leonorus when not in bloom IMNSHO. Smaller crinkly leaves, same funky orange whorls of flowers. Hummingbirds like 'em. Sprout better in loose/prepared soil, but grow just fine in unamended clay. Gloves recommended for cleaning/sorting through the pods as they have SHARP points that can literally draw blood.
I also have plenty more of rooted pieces OR cuttings of the lemon geranium (pelargonium) that I need to get rid of to made room for stuff *I* brought home!
LMK ~'spin!~
Plants that I took to the R.U. may be looking better about now. I sprayed everything with Messenger a week before and I'm out looking at everything I sprayed on the property and I'm impressed, especially with the heat and all. Speaking of which, it seems like a good time to run away to Mendocino.
Sherry
Sherry, the plants look absolutely terrific. Here's a pic to show 'Spin's newly refurbished herb bed. Thanks to your generosity. There's a Berggarten on each end of the upper level, and the twin Viridis take center stage.
WE dug out everything including a 5 foot tall / wide Rosemary which had plans to take over the rest of the yard. added more thymes along the upper edge. Doesn't it just look fine. And those plants are standing right up happy too.
Blooms,
thanks for showing me that...you can come work on my place before you leave!! I'm sure the plants will do even better. I'm going to make sure that I keep Messenger as a regular part of my routine. I'm afraid that I don't get around to fertilizing and soil enrichment all that I should...I have a large area to care for. I wanted to try the Messenger on my roses, it's difficult to keep them in top shape, and after spraying, they're lookin' real good. I would like to have had a chance to talk to you at R.U., never did make it around to everyone. How lucky 'spin is to have a mother who is also a gardener, and vice versa.
Sherry
