July 8th Roundup Trades

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Ok, Chuck, gotcha down for some iris rhizomes! Any color preference? I have a few clumps that I'm going to thin out and they are mostly blue/purple and a few white. I'll just bring a box and I'll label with either names or color.

Perris, CA(Zone 9a)

Actually the blue/purple were my deceased mother's favorites. My wife and I have always tried to plant a few of our mothers' favorites...aloe vera and lycoris for her mother and allyssum (and now iris, too) for my mother.

Thanks,

Chuck

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

Would anyone like Epidendrums (reed stemmed orchids). I have lots of red, some oranges and maybe lavender.

I would like other colors.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Ok, purple it is Chuck.
George, I'd like a lavender and red orchid, can I interest you in irises?
You gave me a reed orchid last roundup and it's doing really well, no bloom yet but it's getting big. Thanks.

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

No irises, I cannot plant them. I will bring a red for sure, and probably lavender also.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Thanks George. What can I interest you in? I have a menagerie of plants in my backyard. I'll just bring some cuttings and if you like them, they're yours. I have plenty of Martha Washington geraniums if you'd like some, purple, red and other colors too. I should put a list together I spose!

Perris, CA(Zone 9a)

Weegy12,

I only have pink Martha Washington geraniums. I would be interested in freshening up the planted geraniums with a cutting or two of different colors. So far all I have to trade is an aloe vera, two four inch pot yellow and white honeysuckles
and a succulent that I haven't found out the name for yet...LOL

I will try to have more. Around the end of June, I plan on going to all the local Home Depots, Lowes and nurseries to look for clearance items in their plants.

Thanks again,

Chuck

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

OK, Chuck, you're down for irises and geraniums! I'd be interested in your honeysuckles!

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Weegie,
Yes, would definitely like some Iris.
Thank you, Sherry

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Ok, Sherry, gotcha!

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

George, I would love a lavender epidendrum.

I have a BIG one that could stand splitting, but I can't remember if it's orange or yellow! It's getting ready to bloom, so if it's yellow, would you like some?

Kathleen

Los Angeles, CA(Zone 10a)

Would anyone be interested in vegetable seeds or just plants?

Question...does anyone know what a ZZ plant is? I was in an office and they had this most beautiful plant, doesn't flower, just leaves and I want one! Let me know if you know the botanical name, can't find it here at Dave's.

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

Kathleen, I will try some on the chance that it is different from mine.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Thanks spin!

Perris, CA(Zone 9a)

Louise,

I misunderstood the label on the honeysuckle that I have left that is yellow and white blossomed. The blossum comes out first as white and then turns yellow. The two Sulphurea honeysuckles that I have I am assuming just come out yellow. Any of three that sound like something that you would like is fine.

Thanks,

Chuck

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Chuck, any honeysuckle you have for me will be fine, thanks so very much.

Columbus, OH(Zone 5b)

Weegy,
I would love some of your Iris, Purple and white sound great.
Although any colour of iris will make me hollar yahtzee!

hiya Gourd,

great to see you. I've been saving some seed of Sesbania grandiflora for you if you're interested. As far as the other stuff goes....done! You will have to tell me which Salvias you're interested in though as I'm taking cuttings as they are asked for.

hope you are well,
don

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Antoinette, you should see the beautiful bloom on the epi you gave me last year! Good to hear from you.

Mesilla Park, NM

Don,
I'd love it (sesbania grandiflora), just googled it and it looks gorgeous, love those flowers. As far as Salvias go, how about the blues?

Guaranitica Indigo Spires
Peruvian Blue.

weegy12, I'm glad it bloomed for you.. what color was it?

I've had a couple of blooms here also.

A.

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

hiya Gourd,

Done!

And I'll throw a couple of more exotic blues into the mix just for kix...lol. Isn't Sesbania incredible? Your Palo verdes and willows are fine. I don't know how many of the willows you actually want as I have about 70...lol....good seed! If you'd like to offer a few to some of the other native plant enthusiasts go for it, they're yours.

hope you are well,
don

Mesilla Park, NM

Oh my lord, each seed must have germinated. Yes, we need to pass some around.. WOW.. I can hardly wait.. and yes to the other (Salvia) Blues.. that is the color that is missing in the desert scape.. I sure hope I can repay you, let me know if I have anything here that you would like...

Gourd, it's a pink with a little lighter color pink, just gorgeous.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

don,
I can't stand it! I would really love 1 of any and all the salvias that you would start for me. (or I could just bring cuttings home since I'm close) Wish I had something here that you would like. I think you already have everything!
I think you may be WAY too generous and we all hate to take advantage of that, but I really do like salvias........

Anybody have an interest in alstroemeria? While I have heard these referred to as Peruvian Lilies, I believe they are Cordu, for they are about 3feet tall and one type is lavender edged with white and another is bright pink edged slightly with white. I also have some in cream with a slight pink center. These are about 12" tall.

hiya wcgypsy,
I've never heard where generosity is a bad thing....I'll make as many cuttings as I can find the time to make for you and will gladly share. Don't exactly know how well they'll be rooted in 4weeks, but we'll give it the old college try on this end.

best to you,
don

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

hiya ginny,

nice to meet you,

I'd be interested. Don't know how many colors you've got, but I'd be jazzed to get one of each. Please see my trade list and let me know if there is anything there of interest to you.

best,
don
