Are we repeating Tuesday?? LOL

Another chilly one here- 35 deg! I heard it got to 101 deg in Texas! Whew, now that is too hot for me! We have clear skies, so things should warm up.

I have no big plans today - h/p first, then putter around in the garden for the rest of the day.

GG - I went on a hosta tour and the most gorgeous place was a man who ringed each bed with a different hosta. It was so stunning. I asked him how he could ever do that ($$$) He said he always buys the biggest pots of hostas and then divides them up. Each ring in a bed was a differnet kind and some beds had 4 rings around. I would love to do that, but I have too many of one kind and just couldn't part with any of them.

Vi-I admire anyone who plays an instrument - I took piano as an adult and hated it - I was so self conscious. I can plink out a tune with my right hand, but my left just won't co-operate!

defoe-I think you need the 2x4 to knock some sense into the fisherman!

Well, the ladies room is hollaring at me, so I need to go see her + senior citizens day at my favorite garden center too>>>hmmmm

Good Morning

this is going to be fun having two threads to post on for today!

:-000

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Good morning all! Bit chilly here but it's supposed to warm up. We could use a little rain, but I haven't checked the weather wizards to see what's coming. Might do a little more clean up if the wind isn't coming straight out of the north or off the lake.

I see my Dragon's Blood Sedum has survived the winter, and is sending some new shoots out. Most of the lilies I started in the little pots are coming up. DH wants to dig up the beds in front of the house and put down black plastic because we can't get that darn crabgrass under control and we're sick of yanking it out, only to have it reappear. We need to divide the mums that are there anyway, and the only thing we'll lose is the Woodruff which is not a big deal. All the rest of it can be put back in without much trouble.

Loved the picture of your mum, Babs, she is tiny isn't she? My stepmom was only 4' 10 or so, those little dynamos have staying power! Your niece is adorable, and seems she fits in very well. I don't recall my girls being overly helpful at that age!

Good ride, Mary! I don't suppose they give any bonus points for the weather, since everyone has to suffer through it. How's AP? Did she miss you? We get scolded when we come home by all three cats, as if our job is to be here all the time, tending to their wants and needs. As if they aren't sleeping the whole time they are gone. When DH comes home from work, Sammi runs to him and cries to be picked up, and DH complies like a good daddy. This morning he's hyperactive, running all over and jumping, must be the sunshine!

Wonder what Bal is up to, must have started a new project. And Carat has been missing for a while, too. You better check in soon so we know you are all right. I think a lot of us are out getting our hands dirty now that the weather is improving, giving less time to sit in front of our computers.

Me too, gotta get moving. ~~~ to everybody, rest assured I've read everything, even if I don't mention you by name you are in my thoughts.

Have a great day....

Sheila

Before I hit the house in cleaning mode, thought I would check in to see what's going on. Our weather here is chilly today, the sun is shining, and it is supposed to hit the 70's, but it sure doesn't feel like it now.

DH got up a 7:00 this morning to go---what else---fishing. I was planning to sleep a little later, but Mr B, wanted to go out, and DH wouldn't let him, afraid he would try to follow him, and he was barking his head off. So between the two of them, I was unwillingly pulled from the warm bed. That's all right, I will get them back!!

Well, you all try to contain your energies, or direct them into a constructive path today, and I will check back later.,

Morning everyone!
What a hoot ... *2* days LOL Does that mean today will have 48 hours in it? Maybe then I could get caught up. You think? thanks Molly and Meezers ... y'all are *great*!!

Well, everyone makes me a tiny bit jealous talking about all those gorgeous flower beds. I have an ugly yard with terrible weeds I fight constantly ... trying to keep them in the woods where they belong. Part of the yard is fenced, so I have my big shrubs around the fence. All the things I grow other than that are in containers. Hats off to y'all for those beautiful flower beds and all that hard work!!:)

ViAnn, can't remember now what was said exactly about the piano ... or maybe I just formed the wrong impression. LOL That certainly wouldn't be the first time. Either way, you're still talented playing all those instruments. :) What kind of crocus do you have? I was looking them up as I am not familiar with them but saw where they were poisonous? Maybe I'm not looking at the right plant?

Hi Bonnie ... am handing over the 2X4 but please pass it back as we seem to have some of the same DH problems. Had to clean out *his* closet yesterday just so I could close the door. I know ... y'all all say just leave it. But honestly ... it's worse on me than him. LOL

Well, here's a picture of my baby at her party. Am waving at everyone before I go.

OK. Back from aquafit and I'm gonna try to catch up.

Darius, too bad you can't keep the bus after you move. Maybe it could be made into a DG bus. LOL Great news that the seller will pick Bruce up.

Maria, your clock is wonderful. I'm sure it's a minor miracle that it arrived intact. But what a great piece to have. Does it work?

Sarv - great buy on the oblisk. I wouldn't argue with a manager either. I still say, you Yankees don't know what high gas prices are. Good for you, passing up on the drive through. We have until the end of April to finish off taxes in Canada. I guess the crunch is now on.

Elaine, glad you made progress against the monster. I need to start battling it here. I think many Canadians cook outside and eat inside. Extends the BBQ season a lot. Plus half the summer or more, we have those pesky mosquitos.

Darius, hope you get the camper.

Hi Molly. Hope you get the rest of those DL's listed. The meatloaf sounds good. Haven't made one of those for a long time.

Hi Babs, Glad you got Easter off and had a good family celebration. It is indeed a blessing to have a mom who at that age is able to keep up and contribute to a family gathering. So many of our elderly relatives are with us only in body. You are also blessed to have a great niece like that when you hear of so many who resist step-mothers. And I bet with the family support that she's obviously getting that she'll grow up to be a terrific young woman.

Lauri - so glad to hear that Salsa is home and doing better.

Bonnie, sounds like you had a busy day yesterday.

Mary, glad your ride went well though it would have been nicer with better weather.

This is getting long. So I'm going to attach a picture and send it. Then I'll pick up where I left off.

For those who requested it, here's the Porsche just after DH and a friend got it down to ground level and put the battery in it. It now occupied the other half of the garage; so my car sits out on the driveway all summer.

Good morning. The sun is out and it looks like we are going to have a pretty day after 20 degrees overnight. I need to get my vegie seeds planted in their little cell packs today. Also today I have things to do in town, so I need to unhitch the diesel pickup from the trailer. For the time being I have quit driving the old truck, it has a very stiff clutch and the seat is too far back (can't move it) so I use pillows behind me but shifting it agrivates my hip/pelvic alignment situation, so I drive the truck that fits me better. Unhitching it is a real workout, no electric hitch thing, just a big crank on the side that gets stiffer as the trailer raises up off the hitch ball. By the time I thought about asking my hubby to do it this morning, he was ready to leave for work.

I've been reading a lot of comments on the endurance email list, and we all agree that the Grizzly Mtn ride was Grizzly Bear ride this year. It really put the Endure in Endruance riding! No extra points for enduring the weather. Sometimes we endure the horse, the trail, our riding partners, the weather, or some days it seems it's all of them.

My AmandaPanda kitty does just fine babysitting my hubby when I am gone. She was glad to see me when I got home, for all of 10 or 20 seconds, then went off to chase her toys. Hubby said she slept right up against him both nights when I was gone. My other house kitty, SweetiePie, disappears when I go away and reappears about 2 minutes after I get back home. She sleeps in the haystack and eats the outside cat's food and hubby says he never sees her. Sometimes when I am coming down the driveway she is racing across the field to meet me. She's a real one person cat, kind of scared of people and definitely bonded to me. It makes me wonder what happened to her before she wandered in here a few years ago in the middle of a stormy winter. The 3rd cat, Neut, loves everybody.

Nice bus, Darius, and now it gets a new career as a moving van. Somebody else's picture of the psychadylic (sp?) bus sure brings back a few memories of busses, vans, vw beetles and just about everything paisley from the Hippy 60's, long straight hair, bell bottoms, beads, and all the rest. It was definitely a new culture. We still see a little of it from time to time, and there are a few people who didn't change much once they had found their lifestyle. I call them leftover hippies.

AmandaPanda is sleeping in my lap. She is in a rare cuddly mood this morning so I hate to disturb her but I do need to get up from here and get something done. I'm still not caught up with reading all the Coffee posts from last weekend, maybe I never will be. Got to go now. See you later.

Back from the h/f - but man, I just wasn't with it - could hardly lift my leg!! My tummy is rolly polly from the gunk rolling down my throat - didn't take the old allergy meds yesterday or today. I always think I can get along without them. Guesss not.

Darius - good luck on the camper - we've had two of them and had a ball using them.

Vi- good looking car!! Looks like it would be fun to cruise around in.

IO1- I have the same weeds in my garden - drives me crazy. Some years I put down preen, but most often don't. I want some of my stuff to reseed. My gardens are really hodge podgie types. A little of something here and there with no rhyme or reason! Every year I vow to do better...

Bab's your mom looks like a stinker!! Love mom's with spunk. How lucky she is to be surrounded by family

I have my dahila's to get potted up, but just haven't gotten motivated..Think I need another kick in the hinnie (bending over now...)

Here goes edition 2 for the day. -
McCool, nice to hear from you last night. You are so right about downfalls. Mine is cheese. Give me a sharp cheddar cheese and I'll eat way to much.

Planticide. LOL I reckon all's fair in the compost pile. And if a plant isn't growing where you want it, it's a weed. Sometimes I move them. Sometimes I just yank.

Molly, your beans sound terrific. Never thought of using fennell.

Kelly, you talk to those Drs. Hope you resolve the problem. You'll need to be in good shape for the garden not to mention your business. I read somewhere that hairdressing was one of the most taxing jobs available in terms of wear and tear on the body.

Bonnie, isn't cornflower a weed? Sure grows like that in my garden. I try real hard to keep on top of deadheading it or it seeds all over the place. Sounds like you got a lot of work done yesterday. LOL about DH's work.

Kelly, keep calm. Exercise control and stay away from ordering hostas. You already have way more than I do. You don't NEED more - at least not until the new gardens are ready. And if your feet are bothering you, you don't want to HAVE to make even more new gardens do you? Concentrate on taking pics of the ones you have.

Hi Woodpsirit. Hope all goes well in the fire zone and nobody loses a home.

What a hoot - two Tuesday threads. thanks to both Molly and Sheila for starting them.

I'm gonna post this again before I start catching up on today's thread.

the pic this time is of DGD and the crocuses.

"Maybe it could be made into a DG bus."

Yes, yes, yes! We could have a contest for painting it with the season pictures like the DG heading, and have the DG logo HUGE on the side. Have a big speaker mounted on the roof that plays Queen's "We Are the Champions" as we roll into town.

Darius could drive it and collect all the people for the Roundups in all the states as they are scheduled. She could stay with DG'ers all around the country and never have to look for a home again!!

As she passed through towns, DG'ers would supply her with food made with the many wonderful recipes posted here and she could bring them along to share with other DG'ers. She also could pass along cuttings and plants from town to town like a rolling plant exchange!!!

Well, now you know why I mostely lurk...sometimes I just can't get over myself. LOL
Pati

Edited to say thanks to Ann for the idea LOL

Hi again,

I'm on the thread for Toozday now. LOL

Sarv - that hosta garden you visited sounds wonderful. Do you have pics?
I think it's much more challenging to tyr to learn an instrument as an adult. There are a lot of little co-ordination things that are easier if you start early.

dmc - wouldn't it be fun to have a bus like that hippie bus?

Are you people in MI and WI sending your weather this way? I don't want the cool. I needed a jacket to go to Aquafit this am, but by the time I came home, I could probably have gone in shirt sleeves.

Bonnie, I thought you did most of the cleaning yesterday! Don't over do it you know. I do, have a few things I need to do though. I agree with others. You need to use that 2 x 4 on DH.

Elaine - don't forget that I said I was exposed to all those instruments. Doesn't mean I can play them. I WAS, at one time at least, theoretically prepared to TEACH them. Ha! In regard to crocus, I just have run of the mill large Dutch crocuses. Don't know whether they are poisonous or not, but I've never heard anything about the possibility that they are. They sure don't do anything to the squirrels.

Happy belated b-day to Kota. Nice picture.

Mary, that ride sounds grueling. Strange how some cats are really bonded to one person and others aren't.

Sarv *********kick*********** Get working on those plants.

Pati - LOL sounds great. I came up with the germ of the idea. You filled it out a lot.

Well, I think I actually caught up for now. One more pic of my first tulips.

I think that sounds like a grand idea Pati, and I think you should share your thoughts more often!! Whaddaya think, Darius, pick your climate and travel accordingly!! No state taxes to pay, no rent, no mortgage, if you don't like the neighborhood, just gas up and leave! Like the people who live on their boats...total freedom!

Haven't accomplished one darn thing this morning, still not warm enough to poke around in the gardens, although my neighbor has been out there building some kind of rockpile down in the far corner where our lots abut. Haven't had breakfast either and it's going on lunch time.

Ann, that little crocus fixer is just too cute for words!!

So, back to doing not much of anything.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

I had to go to the post office today and ran down the asplund people again. They will be here after lunch to dump a load of mulch on me. I'm going to ask if they can bring the truck at the end of the day too.

Jeremy hurt his back yesterday so he's taking it easy now. I'll go out there and plant more DL's. The day is overcast, perfect for gardening, BUT gotta watch the sunburn. Very deceiving on an overcast day. We got burned yesterday.

Well heck Ann, was thinking they might work with the squirrels! LOL You know me ... always lookin for a easy way out. :-)

I always feel mean not to comment on the pics. I'm not ignoring y'all. I always go back and look when the DH is home. :) We enjoy them together. Seems y'all have always moved on to bigger and better things by then, but I always enjoy each and every one.

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Darius can drive the bus, but when she comes here she has to cook too!! I'll do the dishes... I would much rather cook what she makes then me trying to do it.

Molly -drat, I am so jealous- we had the tree cutters on our road and DH asked about a load of chips and he had to pay for them - they wanted $50 cash. Hmm, sounds to me like they pocketed the cash... I've used them for two years, so we got our $ worth.

Weather is still cold here- I am sitting with the heating pad as I type. Sun is out but it looks deceiving...gonna get my sweats on and go out and take a garden walk.

I need to go make some markers for the names of my tulips. After they lose their flower, I can't remember what was where. Plus I am forever digging them up later in the summer!! I had two jack frost brunnera reseed- yahoo- need to move them to a new place too

check ya all later

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

sarv - I'm with u, any bread (except rye) is great with me and with butter on top? an excellent snack!

My wonderful diverticulitis attack has resurfaced, ran out of antibiotics Sunday so start another round today. I'm a tad concerned, this hasn't happened before. The dreaded C. test is not yet scheduled, waiting for her to call me back with a date.

Read the info darius, sounds like a really great rig. Should last for many years! I do like that paint job up above. Maybe u need to have a painting party? Wonder how many DGers could help out? It'd be a blast!!

Talked to my cousin today - (actually DH's) - and am so sad for them. Their mom has gone from taking care of herself in her own house to assisted living and now needs an alzheimer's unit, in about 6 months time. Only the cousin lives here and two DBs. She has 5 sisters living away who are finally realizing how severe the situation is - Aunt M. is deteriorating daily! And one of the sisters found out Thurs. that she has acute leukemia and has 2 weeks to a month to live! The poor family is in shock. It's so sad....... wish I could do more to help..... sorry for the downer, it just makes my gripes seem insignificant when I see what they're dealing with. The rollercoaster we call life.

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

Quick check-in. Still alive at this point. Too much going on between rains, Landscaping is slowly progressing, frost did in my flat of coleus darn it. Off to wood store for more lumber then rock store for more rock. Anyone want a nice 8 ft. RR tie ? I'm too old for this kind of stuff!! Cheers, BBS

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7b)

Well, howdy-doooo everyone!

I'm staying home today and attacking the laundry monster. Let's hope I at least get a good whack at him if not have him slayed completely.

I was at Mum's most of yesterday putting down the Turf Builder with Weed and Feed, weeding out her planters alongside the front deck and potting up some geraniums for her deck as well as planting some seed for larkspur, lupine and canterbury bells. Mum does so love her flowers and I try to give her something to look at while she sits out on her deck. She was on the deck yesterday pointing out where I'd missed some wayward grass that has sneaked into her planter. Hmmmm, makes me wonder how "legally blind" she really is....LOL. I planted her half barrel as well and put some very pretty and colourful flowers in there as well. She had some miniature iris coming up so I cut those and made a small bouquet in a vase to put next to her arm chair where she could see them. I'm noticing, if whatever is out of her visual field, she forgets it's around and forgets to water or tend them. I got her a miniature rose to put in a planter she has in the living room and I noticed it was dead y'day. But, then I reasoned, well, it's out of her visual field when she's sitting in her electric recliner so she forgets to water it. I'd asked the Comfort Keepers to water her indoor plants, but I guess this one got left out.

DH and I went to Home Depot yesterday after he came home from work and bought the new cabinet, sink top, linen cabinet and medicine cabinet that will go into the bathroom. He's to the point of needing these things in place so he can finish the wainscoting and chair rail. Where those things go, he has to cut out the wainscoting and chair rail between each piece so they fit tightly against the wall. Ohhhhh, boy, we're getting closer to having our second bathroom back and I'll be VERY happy. No more doing the pee pee dance in the hallway waiting for the other person to GET OFF THE POT! LOL

I wish to thank those of you who mentioned my new great niece in their posts. You have to know this precious child stole my heart even before my niece married her father. She has been a loving child since I met her at age 5 when her father and my niece started dating. After they married when she was 7 we all made sure she was always invited to any family gathering. She was able to attend some when she was still with her mother, but only upon occasion and only for an abbreviated visit. DH and I always made sure even if she couldn't attend, we sent her a gift or called her on the phone to talk with her to assure her we would all miss her at the gathering. She spent Christmas with us the first time when she was 8. DH and I gave her a pair of garnet studs earrings. She was just thrilled with them and ever since we've given her something she can add to her jewelry box. I had her on my lap that first Christmas and whispered in her ear, "Any time a man asks you what you want for your birthday, anniversary, Christmas....you answer, Jewelry is always nice." She's such a dear child and now every time she sees me, she hugs me around the neck, kisses me on the cheek and whispers, "Jewelry is always nice Great Auntie Babs!" LOL

Well, I'd best be answering the dryer buzzer and getting the clothes folded and put away. I hope everyone has a wonderful day and enjoys at least 10 minutes of peace and quiet today. It's essential to ones ability to cope for a few minutes of sanity each day. For those facing adversity or challenge, I send my wishes for strength and energy to face whatever is coming your way. Many blessings on all.

With care, ~Babs

Hi everyone! Tried to catch up on the past few days, but it's just impossible. Work has been soooo busy. I'll be glad when this latest project is over with.

Hope everyone had a great Easter. We had a good time at the wedding. I do have a funny story tho. The best man was a very large guy. When they were walking into the reception, anouncing the attendants, the best mans pants dropped to his ankles. Thank goodness he could laugh about it.

Happy Belated birthday to Kota!

Lunch break is over already, gotta go!

Bal I would *love* to have that 8 ft. RR tie! Reckon how much it would cost to ship it to GA? Oh wait a minute ... I forgot ... Darius can bring it to me in the DG bus!!! LOL Thanks Pati what a wonderful idea!

I am just saying hello to everyone, what a gab fest you all had but in the meantime I have ben busy most of the day preparing my earth boxes for tomatoes and other vegetables.

Just want to tell Ann, yes, the clock works, it always has only stops if it does not get winded on Sundays. My FIL always wound it after he passed away my husband had to do it for his mother, then he did when we inhereted it, now I must wind it.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Just a quick note. Must change clothes before by next student arrives. There is a small choir made up of Red Hat members and it is singing in the Kiwanis Music Festival this evening. A bunch of us are going in full regalia to cheer them on.

But I have to comment more on Bab's great niece (or is that GREAT grqand-niece?). Sounds to me like it's a two-way street and she's practically been a member of Bab's family since she was very young. Also sounds like your family has really made her feel welcome; so it's no wonder that she's wonderful and fits right into such a wonderful family. I'm not so sure that all families would be so welcoming.

Got all my seeds sorted out this afternoon and threw a few away that were quite old - especially if they were duplicated by new ones. Pretty well all I've already sown are growing well and I even put some outside in a sheltered place. Will bring them in over night. Still have lots of others to sow. Some I know are hardy and I put in the garden such as dill and cilantro. They usually come up on their own but might not this year because I top-dressed so much. Others are hardy enough to be left in my porch or outside, but in seed trays rather than in the garden. And still others I'll have to keep inside for another month - at least at night.

I'll drop by later.

Ann

I'm baaackk!! And I thought I had been busy. I am tired, just reading about what everybody has done today.

Sarv, it was chilly here this morning, I started out in jeans and a shirt, and by 11:00 was in shorts and a sleeveless top. Those hosta beds sound really pretty. I was looking at a hosta site the other night and couldn't believe prices for some, the most expensive one they had was $225. I could no afford that, or I could have one plant for 5 years!! Thanks I got the 2x4 you sent, the screams you hear tonight will be from Kentucky!! Take the allergy meds, they do work.

dmc Loved that bus. Did you say it was yours?

M5, my TOOZDAY went better, maybe because of the new name!! I've never used the black plastice in flower beds before, is it better than the landscape cloth? Don't you just love those "do nothing" days?

101 I don't want 48 hours in a day, 24 is way too many for me. About the weeds, as you garden in containers, you always know when a weed comes up. The 2x4 will be on it's way to you tomorrow. Yeah, just leaving his messes would only get me a nervous breakdown. It wouldn't bother him at all. Kota's pictures are cute. It's good that you get to share the pictures with DH. My DH would not get the colors right, as he is color blind.

Viann, that is one cool car. I would love to borrow it to cruise Louisville at Derby time!! Meant to comment on all the instruments, even if you don't play them well, I still admire someone who is able to teach them. |I love cheese also, I will try any kind at least once. I don't know if cornflower is a weed or not. Anyway, if it doesn't do anything this year, I will commit McCools planticide. BTW, pics are great. If crocus was poision, we couldn't buy any, 101 would have bought them all.

Mary, I laughed about AP babysitting DH. I have helped DH unhook the trailer, but don't know if I could do it by myself or not, it ain't easy!! My DM had a cat who I took care of when she would go away. I would go in scoop the litter box, put out food and water, and would never see the cat, unless DM was gone a week, then she would start coming out, guess she got lonely. We have leftover hippies here too, but most of them did so many drugs they walk around like zombies.

Patischell, Loved the way you expounded on the Darius bus idea. When she come to my house, though, she will have to cook, as I hear she is a great one. This will repay for my southern hospitality. She could just shuffle plants from place to place, and we would always have something new.

MollyMc, sounds like you scored big withthe wood chips. Sure hope Jeremy's back gets well quick. Just remember to put on the sunscreen, as you can be burned really bad on overcast days.

Kooger, let us know when the c test is scheduled. We will help you get through the preps!! Gosh, news about DH cousins DM, and Sister. When it rains it pours. With all that happening, and hearing about it, we don't have any right to complain at all.

Bal Please slow down, you are always into a project. Nice hearing from you though.

Babs, Glad you are getting your mums planters ready for her. I know it is a challenge taking care of your stuff, and helping her out too, I do the same for my DM. I love what you told the great niece, "jewelry is always nice!! When she gets older, make that diamonds and precious gems are nicer!! Gotta get that girl trained right.

susieq, what kind of project are you working on? Have missed you, just drop in and say hi from time to time. Please tell us more about the fella whose pants fell down, what in the world did he do, and how did he react? I would have been mortified.

Maria, I would probably forget to wind the clock. Then is it hard to reset? How many earth boxes do you have. I have never had one, but want a cold frame for next spring.

I will post this, then be back later to tell you what all I accomplished today.

Hurrah Maria, good for you!!!! Anxious to hear how you go through each stage of planting and growth with these EBs. Much better than having cucs amd maters by the front door?????
Patti - you blew me away with the idea of the DG bus - what a more perfect person than Darius to "Captain" the bus!!!!As a fellow lurker Patti I gotta tell you, you need to come out more!!!
You all sound soooo busy either with gardens, relatives or just life. DH and I were fortunate enough to be able to spend all 3 days of the weekend in the gardens. DH has these grand plans of expanding his container gardening probably by the hundred fold - can you tell I am keen??? Guess who gets to take care of all of these wonderful pots after the initial excitement has worn off? Course once the fruit is there to harvest it will be his idea again. lol
When I went down to the garden next to the lake by the dock I was blown away to see that Pussywillows have decided to make this place their new homw. I have always adored PW but have never had them in my actual garden. Any hints or advice?
None of our Garden Centres are really open yet - they all usually
wait and have a Grand Opening on our long weekned in MAy. I went to both HD and Canadian Tire this past week and all they have our seeds - very few bulbs and a sign promising more to come - well I want it now - waeather is perfect let's get a move on.
Price is gas is outrageous here - $!.15 per litre in Kingston - guess that means the tourist income will be shot all to h**** again her this year. I live in a community that needs the tourists $$$'s and am very worried for our neighbours and the local businesses.
Kooger, it is so nice to see you post, I know you are so busy - does your family and extended family know how lucky they are to have you?????
MIL called yesterday and wants permission to go on a "date" with a younger man - 87 on the third floor of her home. LOL. My DH told her that he never asked for permission so why is she asking now. Think it is wonderful - she wants to get out and enjoy herself again -the Nursing Home is so supportive. Guess they will have to book a WheelTrans as they are both able to go out only in wheelchair or with supervised walker. Let ya all know how the big excursion went when I hear.
Happy belated BD to Kota - we celebrate our pups BD's with a cake and a special meal. They sure seem to enjoy the icecream and so do we.
Sarv - god bless you woman you are so dedicated to your huff and puff. Bet you are as think as a stick and are just leading us all on.
Time to clean up the kitchen, thank you all so much for letting me be a part of your day.

I'm heading for my comfy bed, going to watch Boston Legal, and fall asleep half way through. No matter, I'm recording it anyway. Here's tomorrow's link.

Just a quick good night. Well maybe a bit more. Nice pics, Maria. Especially GGD. Bonnie, I say I was "supposed" to be able to teach all those instruments. Aside from the stringed ones, I wouldn't have wanted to have been my student. But theoretically, when you do a degree in music ed., you're supposed to be prepared to teach them all.

Dianne, looks like gas prices are going even higher from the news tonight. Sure it's been nice and warm here, but you know it's too early to plant out for real except for hardy things. About 10 days and we'll see the garden centres open, I bet. I'd be surprised if they don't open the last weekend of April. Do you have a Rona store in Verona? I found some good plants there last year, but my Canadian Tire store took the best care of theirs. I often saw them removing dead leaves and checking the plants. Still wouldn't buy Hostas from them with the Hosta Virus around.

Anyway, good night all.

Ann
