Coffee and...For Wednesday, March 15, 2006 =^..^=
HI!! Where is everybody?
Better go back and check the rest of yesterday!!
Oh, only second today. Good Morning Everyone. Hope you have a good day.
Ann
Good morning, sun is shining but temp is only 32' and a very icy cold wind
All of you have a ggod day
Dunno where they are....it's a full moon, think that's got anything to do with it?
Sammi came and woke me up this morning, cold nose in my ear. Laid there for a while and then figured I might as well get up. I'm going to go price dishwashers at several big stores that carry Bosch. Went on line and found they have a rebate deal going on, unitil April 8, with up to $100 back on the highest priced ones, others can be $75, or $50 but it's money back in any case.
Most of the snow is melted so we are expecting some more tonight and tomorrow. Enough already! Up north got quite a bit of heavy wet stuff, on Sunday but we didn't get that, we just got rain and bad winds. I'm so tempted to go uncover some things but I am not letting myself do it. Poor things have been through freeze and thaw so many times, all they need is to lose their blankets too early.
The Heisey glass sounds interesting, I don't believe I've ever seen any. My sis has a huge collection of amber glass, and was thinking of selling some of it when they sold the lake house. It isn't worth very much. She has one handblown vase that I found in a junky store a few years ago but the rest are all molded and not unusual.
Did good on Ebay shopping for a replacement mandoline and small chopper. I don't know how long I could manage without those tools. Last night we had pizza...no dishes. Sears put a rush on the parts order so they should be here today, and the repair done tomorrow. Then, while it is working, it's going to be sold! And if the buyer wants to know why, I will tell them. The warranty carries over so if there is a problem before August, it will still be covered.
Mini goes in for shots today, she will not be pleased. She'll wail all the way there, and then shut up on the way home. I've been asking the rescue lady for a picture of the sealpoint kitten that I've applied for and I'm not getting one, so far. It's not like this is a *free* rescue, they want
from $150 to $225 for under one year olds. I'm hoping she will send a photo so I can get a look at her.
Maria, just keep a close eye on Samson if he gets the cone off again, they are very good at hiding when they want to get at the stitches, and you will be very unhappy if he has to go back for restitching or gets an infection. If the collar isn't fastening well, get out the duct tape. They are also, as you have found out, very good at looking pathetic and getting extra treats for their suffering! You are a good mom! Tell him it will be over soon! I don't know if they will put a cone on Sammi after his surgery, he won't be happy either. Souky might get a good laugh out of it though.
Kelly, it's good to hear you are busy, but we miss you! Is the snowmobile repaired, and your SO healed up from his bumps and bruises?
Ann, we'll be thinking of you today as you go and re-school your successor. I hope he takes LOTS of notes, as you will not be available the next time he screws up...LOL Glad to know your DH is doing better. Your schedule is unbelievable. I don't know how you found time to work either!! Enjoy the concert! Also, bbl, means be back later. And you will LOVE your highspeed connection.
Susan, we'll be thinking of your DD today as well. And you'd better take heed of your PT's advice or you'll be out of commission for the whole summer and then who's going to pull your weeds? I might get out and prune some today if it's not so windy. The Climbers need a good trim and some rebracing on the trellises, they tend to want to spread out too far instead of going up. The one in front went all the way up to the garage roof last year and I had to curl it back down towards the trellis. It didn't seem to mind.
Got a gift certificate from a nearby Garden shop, so I'm stopping there to see what they have in daylilies before they get all picked over. Need to check Bluestone too, they have such nice plants.
Elaine, when we built this house, we decided we didn't really need a dining room, as we enlarged the dinette area. So, DH decided he would use it as his office. Having already seen how his office in the other house looked, I suggested he use one of the two smaller bedrooms instead. He protested, and said the leather sofa would not fit through the hallway, but when the movers were bringing it in, I said put it in the back room....and they did. We had done the wiring and phone lines so that there would be connections everywhere so there he is.
And it looks exactly like I thought it would, spare bits of auto accessories, papers piled everywhere, car magazines stacked on the floor, just what I didn't want anyone walking in the front door to see! And when he piles it up in the kitchen or on the coffee table, I just move it right in there and set it on his recliner. And I do not clean that room. If we have guests, I just shut the door!!
Well, Sarv is on her way to Chicago. Wonder what she had for breakfast! I'm eyeing a piece of leftover pizza (last night's no dishes to wash meal) but maybe I'll just have an orange. Having lunch at the pie place with DIL.
Dcat, didn't we warn you that housework was dangerous? Now look what's happened, you started cleaning, ended up painting, looked at the ceiling and now there's more painting to do! There's no end to it!
~~~ to all as I head for the shower. I have to plan my "map" for shopping for the dishwasher so I'm minimizing gas usage...hope someplace has a sale as well as the rebate deal....have a sunny day!
Sheila
Sheila, thanks for thinking of the duct tape, never thought of it, they used a bandage to tie it around the neck, I replaced it but now will use the tape to reinforce it. They said 10 days sunday will be the Dday hope I last that long, LOL
The coffee has done it's job. My eyes are open. dmc, ViAnn, Maria, M5, Good morning. I promise, I'm gonna try to keep up today.
The weather here is sunny, but cool. Supposed to be in the high 50's. We will see. Since I don't plan on being out today, it really doesn't make any difference.
M5, hope your trip to the vet with Mini, is quiet on the way to and from. Hoping that you find a "deal" on the dishwasher, with big rebate.
Since I have told you about my plan for the day, I don't have much to report. Hope today is less eventful than yesterday.
Gonna open that next paint can and get busy. I will check in later.
Good Morning, everyone. : )
McCool, no space here to do any craft work, and all my stuff for it is in NC in storage anyway. I hope someday to have 2000 square feet of space just for storage and craft work!
Hi again
It's 29 here and snowing like the dickens....sigh.....
Oh well, it will be warm by the dryer and I really need to get bedding washed, lots of vaccuuming - my allergies make me the canary in the coal mine. And truthfully, i've been extremely lax about cleaning.
defoecat~it was already said, my point exactly, housecleaning is hazardous to your health! But the only time I find it satisfying is in spring when I can open the windows and feel the fresh air. And fresh paint is such a mood lifter, I just hate it when each thing you do makes everything around it look dingier! And I don't like to paint ceilings, they are truly a pain in the neck! I do however, like it when they're done!!
Maria~you're almost there, in the home stretch, and you never have to do this to Samson again....I hope he heals quickly and completely
m5~Glad you got your mandolin and chopper replaced. Sounds like you have a plan! I'm surprised you have plants at the nursery to choose from! here they're still selling ice melt and firewood - nothing even resembling a planT!
Ann~I hope your successor goes the way of Samson's cone and meezers dishwasher!! The Heisey glass would have been something to see. I have collected WAY too much glass, I had an addiction to collecting pitchers and glasses...it was a fun hunt for years. Mostly the floral 40's and 50's stuff, and then the wire caddies to put the glasses in. Now what am I going to do with them all? I must have 100 sets. I kept thinking if only Martha Stewart would do a feature on lemonade sets I would be rich!!
Elaine~I had a great ride yesterday and it was 57 degrees!! I feel like I went away on vacation! (And now I'm back...)
McCool~I hope you will post some pics of the glassware, it is intriguing. Lol about the"poor catnik"... I can just picture it!!
9kitty~prayers for DD's surgery and for your peace of mind...It's harder to worry about our kids than to take the pain ourselves I think.
I hope sarv is having a great day. Had to laugh at her telling all you guys to stop cleaning cuz you'e making us look like lazy butts. Since she's not looking (or defending me and my laziness today!!) I'm gonna do it, I tell you, I'm gonna CLEAN something....be back later, unless I'm too ashamed that I didn't clean anything!!
Dcat it is all your fault!!! The curtains are in the washer so windows are visable and very dirty. And the trim needs painting and then the ceiling is in need of paint too. I need to carefully start spring cleaning.
Susan, your DD is in my Thoughts and Prayers. Keep us posted.
Maria, always turn to the duct tape. I use it for everything. It's getting closer to d-day and then he will be a happy gut and back to normal.
My Gladys just brought me in another dead wood rat...UGH!! Thank You, now mom must toss your prize. She is off to find another.
Sheila,Good Luck on the dishwasher hunting, i hope you get a great deal. Have fun at the garden center, bet ya come out with more than daylilies, as I always do...I get grounded from the nurserys here from time to time. Once I went to get a bareroot maple and DH dug the hole for me while I was gone. Well they were picked over and ugly so they gave me a heck of a deal on a 30gal one so I got that. Well DH was not a happy camper but dug the hole deeper and bigger and then promptly grounded me from the nursery. Oh I got three flats of flowers too. That grounding lasted for 2 months. Oh well.
I better get moving must rotate laundry and head off to pt....Have a great day, and to those I missed ....waving at ya......Lauri
Ok you guys don't blame, just call me the great motivator!! Got the lower half of the wall, below the chair railing painted, paint stuff cleaned up, and ready to move on to wallpaper, and border.
kittymom, hope your DD does well with the surgery. Have been thinking about her. Please let us know when you hear from her.
Darius, 2000 sq ft, would be a dream. And just think, if it was a work and storage area, it wouldn't need much upkeep.
dmc sorry about your weather. I wish what was left of winter would come all in 3-4 days, then we could make plans about getting out and about.
Wonder where 101 is, I don't think I saw her late last night, as she always posts right before bed.
Well, off I go again. BBL
Well, Molly has changed her plans due to work schedules so it looks like I will be going to my sister's soon. (My sister is in Kissimmee, FL and then I have another CT scan in May in NC.) Sis still has work inside to complete to sell her house and I have all the tools and skills. Getting them and the rest of my stuff from here to there will be a bear but I'm sure Molly will be glad to have her space back.
Good morning! Just popping in for a minute. Read most of yesterdays posts, but didn't have time to comment. Was in a meeting that lasted for 3 1/2 hours! That put me way behind on other stuff.
Leaving work at 12 to take DS to Dr. They will unwrap his arm and pull out the stitches. They will then determine if they will re-wrap it or put it in a cast.
Washed the cat TWICE with the Natures Miracle skunk remover. Lessend the smell, but didn't get rid of it. I mixed up a batch of the stuff Babs gave the recipe for, but then couldn't get the little bugger to wash him with it. He was totally ticked off at me at that point. I am taking him and one of my girls to vet tonight anyway.
M5 - does the rescue you are contacting list their animals on Petfinder.com? Maybe they would have a picture of her there. Hope you get a good deal on the dishwasher.
Defoe - Be careful with all that housecleaning / Painting. That was a scary thing with the gas at DM's
Susan - Will be Keeping DD in thoughts and prayers today.
DMC - Stay warm today!
Lauri - LOL at being grounded from the nursery.
Gotta go. See Ya!
Hi suzieq~actually I'm freezing....I hope your son makes out very well at the doctors! Thanks for the update.
darius~I bet Molly will miss you and your skills. I hope you do all right at your sisters. The way things are with my sister (not speaking) going to live with one sounds very treacherous!
Guess what? Got a bunch of bedding washed, now if I could get the sleeping 110lb dog to move (yes, the one I'm allergic too, and yes, on my bed!!) I could put the sheets back on. They're so spoiled I have to wait until she gets up for lunch to remake the bed. Yes, I deserve the allergies too. As I told the allergist though I never ever let the horses in the bedroom. Glad I'm not MaryE having to confess that she let a sheep in bed!!
Darius, hope that your trip south is successful. So does that mean that your temporary home is moving for awhile, or are you going to DS for a few weeks then back to Mollys?
Anyway I wish you a safe journey and a peaceful stay.
Susieq, don't you just hate those long meetingss? Since I retired, I don't think that I could sit still in one anymore. Good luck on the Dr visit. Hope it is healing well.
dmc, sending warm thoughts your way. Sorry for the cold!! Glad the laundry is done, and chuckled at waiting for dog to get up for lunch before you can make the bed!!
Well, I am almost through with the wall paper, and will have to wait for DH to get home to help with the border. So, I will just move to general cleaning until he gets home.
Gonna grab a bite to eat, then back to the salt mines!!
Just heard from DSIL, DD is in recovery and everything went well during the surgery.
He will call back in a couple of hours after she is in her room.
Susan
=^..^=
Good morning/afternoon, whatever you have.
My goodness, we are a busy bunch. Darius is on the move again soon, I sure hope this time with your sister is peaceful and that you have a safe trip. Who gets Darius next?
Suzie, I can't emagine giving a cat a bath once, let alone twice. I guess by the time you get him back from the vet he will smell ok. I'm guessing he is staying for a fixit operation. I hope you can get ahold of him now that he will be thinking you are gonna give him another bath. Skunk is one of the hardest smells to get rid of. And when one gets killed on the road nothing eats it, nothing wants it. Highway crews have been known to paint the line right over the skunk.
I think there is no stopping Defoe until she is done, she's on a roll. Outa my way, I've got cleaning to do. I rarely get so inspired, actually never. One room and I'm done until the sickness strikes again. Maybe we should all be having a get well party for her.
Maria, duct tape holds half the world together! It comes in so handy we keep a roll of it in the house, one in the shop, and one in my trailer. It's ugly but useful.
Lauri, very funny how you got grounded from visiting the nursery. So far that hasn't happened to me.
My back and pelvis seems to be staying in place and I have been soooo careful with it. I catch myself doing little things that I shouldn't do, like crossing my legs at the knees. I'm taking it real easy and trying to remember to keep my back from twisting until the muscles get readjusted to hold me together. That also means staying off the horses for a few more days, and wouldn't you know it, today is a pretty day! I think I will just take a walk with the dog.
My good news it that it looks like we have a buyer for the horse I have for sale. He will put a substantial down payment on her, then ride her in the 50 mile ride on the 25th, and if all goes well, he will buy her. If not he gets his deposit back and I bring her home unless my friend has another prospective buyer standing in line to see her. Meanwhile, I wait, anxiously! I'm planning to be at the ride but the weather has been so bad lately that it has me wondering if I will be able to haul my trailer over the mountains. Maybe it would ease my mind to look at the 10 day weather forecast.
Dmc, funny about the dog sleeping on the bed so you can't make it. I'm glad you had a nice day to ride, if you get to go again soon, enjoy it for me.
Ok, I need to accomplish something, and I think I will make a bread pudding. Ummm, I always have a bowl of it when it is still almost too hot to eat. Want to join me in a couple of hours?
AT LAST! I've been trying to get here for ever! Hi to everyone. I've been so busy again. Next time anyone mentions housework I think they ought to be band from coffee. Well, maybe we could just eat their share of the weeks dessert? Works for me! LOL
Defoe, I fell asleep in front of the computer last night. Really, seriously I did. Came in here to see what I'd missed all day and the next thing I knew ... I woke up with a *terrible* neck pain* I thought it was broken. Figured it was time to go to bed.
Maria~ counting down the days with ya! Oh, what about your yard? Anymore luck with getting it repaired and some plants replaced?
Meezers, yeah, that's exactly what I did. The only thing I miscalculated on was ... I gave him the biggest bedroom. Also wanted his room far from the master so when he's up at night he's not bothering me. Anyway, it's the first room you come to. BAD plan. :-( I know ... live and learn! Know what you mean about keeping the door closed. ;)
Mary~ glad you're staying together! Would hate to have parts of you flying apart! LOL Do take it easy so you'll be able to enjoy riding later. Hope you're able to sell your horse.
McCool, sorry I haven't called. I'm still enjoying the gardenias. What, they *aren't* gardenias? Sure smells like them! LOL
DMC~ shhh now don't go saying that. You'll give me a bad reputation. Whew, just remembered ... Kota can't read! :)
Susan~ so glad your DD has her surgery behind her now. Please keep us up to date on her progress. She'll be in my prayers ... and so will you.
Lauriwilson~ I've been band before also. Don't worry ... it won't last. Do like the animals and use those *looks*. They work every time! LOL
Suzie~ am saying prayers for your DS that all goes well for him this afternoon. :)
Hi Darius~ ... am crossing fingers that all goes well for you with your move.
Has anyone heard from Carol? I need to go back and finish yesterday's thread but haven't had a chance yet ... so there might be some news from her.
To those I've not spoken to ... I'm waving frantically ~~~~. I *must* get up and get back at it. Defoe, when all this cleaning is over ... I'm sending the 2X4 after you, girl. I'll be gentle since you're my friend, though!! :)
Hugs to all ... Elaine
Hi Everyone,
Susan, glad to here that DD's surgery went well.
Mary - also good news about the horse sale. Hope it continues without hiccups.
Sheila - chances are that you HAVE seen Heisey glassware and not realized it. It was EVERYWHERE. Used in hotels and bars. Very popular for wedding gifts during its time. It was much clearer than other pressed glasses of the time and came in many, many patterns and quite a few colors. I'll post a couple of pictures of items which I kept. I realize that I have a few other pieces which I should photograph. Makes a good record in case of fire and/or theft. the pieces below are the aforementioned pitcher which my grandparents received as a wedding gift. The smaller pitcher is the same pattern and one which my mother acquired later.
Darius - hope all goes well for you.
Ann
Got home from the Food Cupboard less than an hour ago. Successor was TOO busy doing STUFF - who knows what - in the office to work on the things he needs help with. I told him that I would oversee as HE did it and made notes and that if he wanted to run the tape while we worked, that was OK, but that if it took him a month to transcribe the tapes that I wasn't going to just sit down and make tapes for him.
When the program closed at 2, I asked if he wanted to work on things then. No. So, nothing was done. I also suggested to a couple of other board members who will be at tonight's meeting, that they ask some pointed questions about how many used the program in February. He doesn't know.
Anyway, here's another picture;
Sorry. It helps if I click on the right button - NOT "send" before I've attached the pic.
This is a fairly rare piece - a cigarette holder which has been engraved. This came to me through my DH's extended family and my mother was astonished when she found out I had it. LOL The bowl behind it is a Zodiak pattern relish/pickle dish. Not a great picture of it though.
M5 Just want you to listen what my daughter has to say a out her new dishwasher, about 1 1/2 -2 years old:
"I absolutely love my Bosch dishwasher. It cleans everything beautifully and dries without using heat. I am able to put things in the dishwasher without any worry that they will be damaged. It is incredibly quiet, too, and,
it is a beautiful appliance. I like the fact that the control panel is on the inside . I highly recommend it!"
Just thought you would like to know a little bit more about Bosch from My daughter who is here having Dinner in a little while, just waiting for her husband.
Wow Ann those pieces are pretty. I love looking at glass...hmmm I guess it stimulates my imagination...the grandmothers I never knew(I always wished I had a grandmother, so I kind of invented one. I decided she would give me depression glass. I have a cool diningroom set that I bought at a garage sale and pretend my Aunt Edna left it to me, since I didn't have aunts either!!)
Maybe I should have invented a higher class grandma!! LOL
Ann, I just can imagine what beautiful pieces you have, thank you for showing. My MIL colected Cranberry glass of which I have quite a few pieces and have added some, must have about 100 of them.
for you, Elaine, I having for an appetizer I having smocked scottish salmon stuffed with garlic and chives cream cheese. Cream of chicken soup, from scratch mind you, tenderloin steaks with rosted vegetables, (potatoes, carrots, parsnips, onions, celery, zucchini)a spinach salad with Chabasa ciabatta bread and Darius's Peach cobbler for desert with coffee.
You are invited, plenty of food
Maria, the menu sounds terrrific, hope the cobbler does well for a dessert. Our oven runs low so I was a bit dissapointed.
OH if only I had wings!!! Maria that sounds absolutely wonderful. Much better than tonights fare which will be restaurant food, DH got bribed to do some extra work for an associate and this is his reward. It's one of those chain places, so my expectations aren't too high. Yours sounds much better.
Dcat if you don't sit down one of these days, we are going to come after you! You, Babs, Ann and Elaine are making us all look like what Sarv said. Lazybutts. I did strip the bed today and wash the linens, but unfortunately with my shopping, lunch with DIL, vet visit, more shopping (since we are likely to be snowed in I needed to be prepared) I haven't remade the bed. DH can help when he gets home.
Susan, good, the surgery is over. Maybe you'll get to talk with her this evening.
Ann I probably have seen some of that glassware and not known what it was. It has classic lines, and I love the pressed designs. I am determined not to collect another single thing. I think we all kind of figured that your successor wanted you to do the work.....I hope the questions are sufficiently pointed that he will feel some pressure to learn to do the job he is being paid for.
Maria, thank you for quoting your daughter's comments about the Bosch. I've heard nothing but good things about it. When I looked into them at the store, I was really impressed, The inside is all stainless steel, even the racks. Not that cheap plastic all the other ones have. And not the coated racks, that eventually chip and discolor. I am more determined than before that that is the one I want. One model with all the features I need is $599, which is not bad. Subtract the $75 rebate, and the refund of the maintenance agreement from Sears, and whatever I can get for selling this one, and it will be a good deal.
They do have to order it though, and said it takes about a week. So, I won't have DH pull out the old one until the new one is here. Oh, the top rack has two sets of wheels so you can adjust the height of the upper basket! How cool is that?
Darius, you want 2000 sq. feet for hobbies and crafts? That's my whole house!! We have considerably more garage space than living space. Good thing I don't have as many cats as DH has cars.
Laurie grounded from the garden shop or nursery!! I don't have that problem, I just ask DH if he wants to go, and we're off. Last year we came home with trees in his little Honda hatchback (impulse buying should only be done when you have a truck to go home in), along with several flats of bedding plants. We could barely squeeze ourselves in.
Weather looks ugly for later tonight and tomorrow. I hope it doesn't hit all the midwesterners and then move on to the east coast. With luck it will melt fast, but this time of year who knows.
I'm outa here, ~~~ bye to everyone. I might check in before bedtime but that's only a vague expectation. At any rate have a good evening.
Sheila
Just enjoy cooking, Dasrius now on;y once a week when D and H come..
earlier I made anothrt banana bread for them to take home
Elaine I'm going to Maria's with you!
dmc - I'll share both of my grannies with you - after the fact. They were both so wonderful and would adopt anyone in a heartbeat! One was English married to Irish, one was English married to Greman. Both were perfect Grandmothers! Needless to say, life was interesting with the English/Irish/German/American mix that showed up in my life.
Life is good here - I wish this beautiful day for you all!
BBL - ginni
Oh Darius, Your wish for a 2000 sq ft craft and hobby room
sounds wonderful !
I have often thought of how many sections I would need .
Let see now ............
Wood working with all the exhausts ,
sewing, knitting etc, corner
Cement ,plaster stuff w/ running water
Mosaics and stained glass w/ running water
and a room for all my exercise equipment
Large glassed in area for plants too .
Each section gets abundant storage for the area
and a lav and shower.
so I guess all I would need after that is a bed and a kitchen ..... am I crazy ? I earned it ..... hehehehehe
Scoots, we think alike!
Hi folks,
We actually got a little snow today --- only 1/2 inch or so, but it was rather unexpected. Wonder what the weekend and the expected snow will be like!
Maria, I'll add my comments to the rest. Your menu sounds wonderful. I hope you all enjoyed it to the fullest (no pun intended). As far as the glassware is concerned, I had looked for any distinguishing marks and found nary a one. I think that it must all be inexpensive, run-of-the-mill pressed glass, but some of it is still quite pretty. DH took some photos this morning so I'll post some. Please bear with me as I don't know how to make one of those photo collages and will have to post them one by one.
Susan, glad to hear that your daughter's surgery went well and hope that she has a very swift recovery.
V-ann, also glad that your DH seems to be progressing well. D'cat, same goes for your MIL. After all that she (and all of you) went through, I think she deserves to have smooth sailing for the rest of her life.
Dmcd, I thought that WE had spoiled pets! Not a patch on yours, from the sound of it.
Hey 101, ~~~~~ I'm waving back at ya.
Darius and scooter, 2000 feet of storage and craft space??? You realize you've just reduced me to tears, don't you? I think I've got about 2 sqare feet of workspace in my store and not a whole lot more at the house.
M5, tgif, lauri, Mary, and suzieq, waves and greetings to you as well. I've read everything, but still have more work to do tonight before I get to relax, so I'm going to post those pics of the glassware and then get myself in gear again.
101, I wish that you could see these, but it would take me about a week to try to describe each one with enough detail for you to be able to envision them. They are mostly bowls of various sizes plus a footed plate and a pair of branched candleholders. Some are clear glass and others are lightly tinted yellow, pink, amber, or blue. Most have patterns in the glass. Okay, here goes.
McCool, did you get my dmail about the message.
FYI, I ordered DD a pasta basket and kitchen candle from McCool, they look so nice. I might have to get one for myself. LOL
Scooterbug, that is MY list. Now if I could only make it come true.
Maria, you amaze me with the menu. That sounds so hard, but so very very good.
I got to talk to DD awhile ago. She sounds very tired and her throat is sore, but I'm afraid it may get worse when all the locals wear off. The doctor did say that she may get to go home tomorrow.
I am so glad it is over and I could get to talk to her a little bit. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers for her.
I have to go watch Invasion, LOL, so I'll be back later.
Susan
=^..^=
Yup, Susan. I got the message and it's in the basket. Now I just have to finish packing it and weigh it so that I can calculate the shipping. I'm going to ship the candle in a separate box as it's too big and heavy to go in with the basket. I'm planning to get both on their way tomorrow morning.
Thanks again.
Well, I worked until 8:00, then showered and sat and rested for a bit. My progress report is, kitchen is finished, with the exception of changing chair cushions, washing the floor, and waxing the cabinets. The curtains are hung, windows washed, wallpaper and paint and border done.
Mary, I appreciate your offer of a get well party. Made me spew my beverage at the screen. Sure hope the buyer for the horse accepts. Hope your back holds, and you stay in place, and that it won't be long before you can ride again.
101, I wondered why you didn't post last night, as you always do. I can just see you slumped, head at an odd angle, got a crick huh.
Kittymom, glad to hear the surgery went well, and that you actually talked to DD tonight. Hope she recouperates fast.
Viann, very pretty glassware. So since successor didn't want to work on the things he had requested help with, does that mean that he is going to do it by himself? I would have board members asking questions, just to see if he has absorbed anything at all.
dmc. I didn't have any grandmothers either. I like your idea of inventing some. I did and do have aunts, but none really close. Seems I got closer to one of DH's aunt's. She was such a giving loving person. Every year for Christmas, she gave me a hand made quilt. Some day when I feel ambitious, I will get them out and take some pictures. She passed away 3 years ago.
Maria, I wish I had read your menu before I fixed supper. I would have come to your house instead. Man that really sounded good. Give Samson a hug from me, tell him it won't be long now.
M5, Just call me a motivator. Did you see what I caused lauriewilson to do? Just keep reading, I'm sure that it will rub off on others too. Sounds like you had a very busy day.
tgif, I will join in on the "space envy" With me, it seems that the more space I have the more stuff I bring home to fill it with.
McCool, some of that glassware looks like depression glass. Especially the first yellow bowl and the last one. If you have a good library there, go see if they have "Depression Glass" by Gene Florence. It has pictures of every piece ever made. Some of it is very collectible, and expensive. Especially pieces with lids, as they mostly got broke.
Well, I am going to check out some other forums, but will be back before bed.
