I'm still doubtful of them, they are such a small school - yes I know its all about scholarships. Hey Lawrence college in Appleton went undefeated in regular season(D3), but got knocked out of that tournament.
Meg - my kids thought they would eat the sunflower seeds last year, but were happier to play with the seeds instead.

Boy, just when it looks like spring, I end up with a couple inches of snow, YUCK!!!!!!!
I got very lucky when I bought my house three years ago, it turned out that the previous owner had planted bulbs all over the place. I was delighted to see flowers blooming everywhere, since I looked at the house in March and didn't see it again until early July when I moved in. There are crocuses, tulips, daffodils, primrose, and hundreds of day lilies. There are also roses all around, a couple of lilac trees, a dwarf burning bush, Russian olives, blackberries, raspberries, several varieties of perennial flowers(most of which I haven't identified yet), as well as a few fruit trees and many other assorted trees and shrubs.
I CANT WAIT TILL SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kingfisher, I know what you mean: serious spring fever here in the mid-Hudson Valley, too. I spent the day graphing my garden on my computer and wistfully looking at the still cold garden beds outside. It only got to 37 degrees here today...just flurries, though!
Think spring. Starts tomorrow, at least officially!
All of my tulips and most of my daffs have sprouted, though..
Morning campers...coffee's on in the mess hall...I'm headin to the showers, these mornings seem to just get away from me!!!
By the way - my yard's a jumpin' I notice buds on my daffies..yippee!!!
Hey - where is everyone??
all that shower talk must have scared them away
oh -- haha!!
Anita, Maybe everyone feels let down by this cold snap.
It's too cold to play out in the yard, or have new flowers open or even for the snakes. lol.
Sidekick Sarah had to settle for a 'ride' rather than a walk. I had to get supplies for work.
My Amaryllis is blooming again, though.
Andy P
I must agree with you Andy - this weekend was very deceiving with all that wonderful sun!! I went out and my fingertips were number after about 15 minutes!!
PS - glad about the snakes...they can hibernate all they want!
We're not going to get all the snow south and west of us, but the 20mph NE wind keeping it away is CHILLY.
Getting closer to working on my wall, but everytime I go into Menard's to buy stuff I always get dahlias.
Where are we? Many of us work! ;^)
Tough getting back to the old grind today. Tough being back in the cold.
Oh, Nature! Yoo-hoo! It's Spring!
Actually, other than getting through about 300 emails and several dozen pieces of snail mail, it was pretty good. No big messes to fix, no crisis.
Usually, I have to pay for taking time off.
Al, I didn't want to bring that wall up but seeing you did.... Do it now, Spring will break soon and you will put it off for months (again).
Think "domestic tranquility".
Andy P
well - spring has officially sprung..now someone needs to tell mother Nature...
Hi Andy! You know I went looking back over this thread to try and remind myself about what kind of wall Al is procrastinating building. Went back a long way without finding anything.I think Al is working on a wall of denial.
Al is building a wall of denial that he is a garden freak just as bad as the rest of us...
poor Al
My house of illusion has walls of denial.
I wouldn't know if I live in a house of illusions, its tuff to see through the padded cell...
How are you Gena? Over the bug? Used to your schedule yet?
Dave(NOT Dave)
Nahh ! ! He needs to re-Sheetrock his kitchen wall.
It's a winter/foul weather job and the wife wants it done.
Just bite the bullet and do it, Al.
LOL
Andy P
Actually I did put in a thread on it in an appropriate place. I think I have a good plan. I'll get it done, next warm up I need to get outside working.
Am I cross-threading again. So many forums, so little memory.

Hey you're bringing BROWNTHUMBS!
That looks like fun. Anyone going? It looks like there are a couple of them for the Northeast now. I got a d-mail today about one in New Hampshire.
I told him I said that...this was his retort...
"I can plant stuff, just cuz you can plant annuals that makes you some kinda gardening wonder...what do you call all the flowers that were here before you moved in?"
I said "bulbs that your mom put in for you. Can you name any of them?"
his reply "yeah...um...Tulips."
In reality there are four unknown Tulips, an assortment of Daffodills with no name, Crocus, Snowdrops, and a ton of other bulbs he has long since forgotten.
I have put in so much I can't begin to start a list, but realllly? He thinks the Roses are annuals? BROWNTHUMBS for sure...
well..they do come up annually - - - - denial - - -isn't that a river somewhere?
Good morning! Coffee is on!
Al, I know are photos are downloaded but I'm waiting for my tutorial from my DW. Should have something for you to see tonight.
Boy Dave - you go away on vacation and have imaginary friends and even miss a few jabs in your direction...better start excerising that whit of yours...!!!
Looking forward to seeing those pics.
So Dena - how much damage are you doing with the mechanical equipment at HD? Still having a blast?
Andy - how much longer do you think this restoration project will take?
Daisygrrl - have you finished mapping out your garden yet? Are you including light patterns too?
Lafko - I've been thinking about what you said with Job Lot's - I'm not sure I have that store near me? I've only seen this coldframe online.
Al - do you have any sunset pics off the lake?
GOOD MORNING to Al, Anita, Andy P., Dave, Gren, and all!!! The sun is out, that's a start!!!
Anita - The new on line circular comes out tomorrow. I checked this week's on line circular and it wasn't in there. Here is their website link so you can check locations that may be near you. You can check the locations too, there are some in CT. Not sure if that helps, but there are a lot of them in CT but how far from you I am not too sure.
Meg
It would help if I gave you the link, ha, ha, ha:

Good Morning Everyone!
Hi Anita, Thay wont let me drive the stupid forklift, I missed the training class on it cuz I was sick *pout* but I'm taking a make up class this weekend! : )
Al, nice pictures, is this how you spend your time avoiding the "WALL"?
Dave (here but not with it) you need to get on the stick with those pictures! We have been waiting to see them since you left!
Dena(not Gina)
Nice - I love sunsets..Here are few of mine http://lakehousecreations.com/sunsets.htm
Meg- thanks for the link. Unfortunately, they are only in Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. :(
Anita, There is one near me. Come on over.
Found thiw on Big Dipper Newzette:
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold:
when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.
-Charles Dickens
Fitting for today.
I must not be with it 'cause I don't even know what I missed. Did someone poke fun?? At ME??
Excellent quote, Dave (ND)!
Edited to remind everyone that it is J. S. Bach's 321st birthday today.
