Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Hi, everyone!

(((((((((((Janett))))))))))) I hope you feel better soon.

I'm glad the gatorade is working on your migraines, Critterologist.

I'm very sorry to hear about Lynne. :-(

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

My ears were burning and I ignored them!

I am sitting here stunned and not stunned over Lynne. She sure put up a good fight but I guess it was just too much.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

MG, didn't you get your nutmegs???

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

LOL, Al!!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Good question, McGlory... I hope someone has an answer cuz now I'm curious, too!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

You can have whatever you like in your cocoa... nutmeg, cinnamon, marshmallows, peppermints schnaps.... It's the "good stuff" too, from Penzey's... no "Swiss Miss" here!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

**oblivious to anyone but myself**
Was Lynne Breezemeadows?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

McGlory, can you give us a context for "Rain Garden" & maybe we can figure it out?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

no... Lynne was "lmelling"

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

No, Lynne was lmelling.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

O ,don't know her
what's wrong?

Southeast, NE(Zone 5a)

I have a thread in Curb Appeal entitled "Curb Unappeal." The response I got used that term. See here when you have time:

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Al.... you don't seriously mean you went back to the last psuedo-chat thread and edited out typos etc?? I mean, that would be seriously OCD.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

She had cancer. She passed away this morning.

Oklahoma City, OK

Rain gardens are a way for homeowners as well as businesses to participate in the reduction of polluted runoff, simply by planting a specialized garden. Rain Gardens are an infiltration technique - water is captured in a garden that features native plantings, and the water has a chance to slowly filter into the ground rather than run off into the storm sewer. It is a popular way to reduce nonpoint source pollution and has been popular along the East Coast for a number of years. ..so says googleguys

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I don't think he meant typos... LOL He was being goofy and now he wants to deny it.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Hmmm... will check it out, McGlory... brb

(this format gives me plenty of time to browse between posts.... not moving too quickly tonight!)

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

YES JILL, I got the nutmegs, but apparently you didn't get my thank you?

'Chele, did they look like this?

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Aha! Thanks, Wysteria!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I have obsessive humour myself disorder if you haven't figured it out

Southeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Thanks wysteria. Sounds complicated though!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

By that definition, I would think almost any landscaping other than sod might qualify as a "rain garden"

?

Oklahoma City, OK

uhuh...agreed

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Sorry about Lynne - I didn't know

Southeast, NE(Zone 5a)

That's not too helpful. Whenever you guys have some extra creative juices, go to that thread and help me out. I'm suffering from overwhelmentia. Oooohh! New word!

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

We need to get Dave a chat pager. Only to be used in a chatmergency.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I *thought* I remembered that you'd received the nutmegs, MG... but then you were asking me for nutmeg on your cocoa, and I was suddenly unsure!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

LOL Great word, McGlory!!

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

Actually, I was being semi-serious, lol. I love to put nutmeg in my cocoa.

mg

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

You know tho, this totally blows the argument against a Saturday chat out of the water. No-one wants to moderate a Sat chat. Just how moderated are we if chat is broke all night and admin doesn't know?

Hmmmm......

has 8 x 10 glossy's with circles and arrows and everything...

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Oh, cool "blank slate" there, McG!

You need to start doodling some plans on paper.... Island beds of taller plants, maybe a tree or two with underplantings, groundcovers between in place of grass, and be sure to plan a curving path or two so you can enjoy meandering through it!

That skinny little bed by the front walk is just begging for some tall, skinny plants like skypencil holly or, what's that columnar cultivar of euonymous (if you want winter greenery) and how about some climbers like clematis to twine along the porch railing?

Give us an idea of what you like -- formal English or maybe Japanese style, with emphasis on clean lines and interesting forms, or free-flowing cottage garden style, or.... ??

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

**mg web cam 24/7**

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Well if we don't get chat tonite do we get a freebie later???

Gamleby, Sweden(Zone 7a)

wysteria I googled the word and ended up at the same site lol

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Saturday chats would be fun, especially on the Saturdays my DH has to work. :-)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

So, what do you think of freshly grated nutmeg now that you've tried it, MG? In some recipies, I reduce the amount by half when using freshly grated, or it becomes overpowering.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Maybe if we ask nicely, Lauri. :-)

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Wow you sure know how to put out the treats. Chele just told me about Lynne. Bless her heart she sure put up a fight.

MG I don't poke Dave. This is his family time. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the server changes the other day and maybe he will pop in later and fix it. I will send a report.

Hi Demstratt, the title under my name means I am an editor for PlantFiles not for DG. Do I work for Dave? MMM no not really I answer to Dave just like everybody on DG does but I prefer to think that what we do in PF is for everybody we all benefit from it. I'm not a paid employee if that is what you mean my time is voluntary.
