I like your choices, Victor, and would add Dina Merrill and Jennifer Jones.
Would that have been MAPS PUOS schickenlady? Sounds really Hawaiian!
Glad you're better Dave
Boy, I hate to take a day off...you guys crack me up. Youngest DGD 13th b'day party yesterday. That makes me about 113.
I was Roy Rogers when I was a kid. I don't know why. Outside of that I was pretty girlie..not a tomboy. Maybe because he could sing. I still watch his movies.
actually pirl, wouldn't it have been POUS MAPS? Put it that way, it sounds oriental.... And why is it that I loved Spam as a child and can't even look at the can now? Perhaps I didn't know what was REALLY in it then, nor did I care!
I always wanted to be Heidi.....and ironically, I now live with an old goat and several "newer" ones. ha ,ha...
We're all spelling it wrong: it's PUOS MAPS. Now I bet it will taste better.
Dave may be back but is he spreading the virus?
Yes, we can't think straight. Must be the GUB ULF. Dave, what the heck is going on in CT anyhow? ;)
Kathy
Don't blame this on me! I'm trying to understand people's posts. Backward or foward, Pirl can spell. However, she appears to be into foursomes (her, Marilyn, Elvis and Jimmy Dean (We can only hope she meant James).
Victor is attracted to octagenarians (not that there is anything wrong with that).
Schicken is dyslexic, and somewhere over the rainbow there are Misty Meadows that are into goats.
I only hope that Anita can twitch her nose or bob her head and make everything normal.
All of this seems perfectly normal to me, Dave. What's the problem??
You are all calling me sick!
Poor Dave! In denial again.
Sorry about mixing up my sausages and my men.
You're not really attracted to Jimmy? I remember his variety show. For some reason, I liked it as a kid.
Pirl, my response would get us booted.
And to think I let that pass!
Well, you are sick after all.
Thank God you're well, Victor!!!
this is a heck of a virus ;0)
Don't forget for the girls - Claudette Colbert. I loved her in the Egg and Me. Elizabeth Taylor's eyes. I was a big Errol Flynn fan too.
Swoon! Not over Liz but Errol.
and then there was Cary Grant - I had every movie he made on VHS tape. I have since sold them on ebay. I could watch him over and over again. There is a movie out now called "Are We Done Yet", which is a remake of Mr Blanding's builds his Dream House....I'm still trying to see the correlation!
How did we forget Clark Gable? He'd be #1 - even beats Elvis and Cary Grant (and Jimmy Dean, as well as James Dean).
you know, I've never been that taken with any of the movie stars (male or female). guess I go for real people...I'm not the fantasy type. I had a dream once about Lloyd Bridges (blah) If I'm going to dream about a celebrity, I do wish I had better taste.
I had a dream about Ashton Ritchie. I don't know if I should be admitting that publicly.
Yes, I agree about Claudette and Liz. As I said, there were certainly more I forgot. Brigitte Bardot is another. I am a big Cary Grant fan. Much better actor than given credit for. Ever see 'People Will Talk'?
Lloyd Bridges? oh my!!! I used to dream about Dr. Kildare or Ben Casey, MD. They were both quite handsome in my formative years. I thought for sure I was going to marry a doctor. And if I had, I could've had him check out Dave to see what ails him.
;) Kathy
Oh no! You could have helped with "you know who" and his ailment. But that may have eliminated this thread and that would not be a "good thing".
Or given advice.....
Katherine Hepburn. Smart, funny, wonderful wife in so many films if not in real life.
Denzel Washington. Did you ever see him in the Spike Lee movie She's Got To Have It? Hot, hot hot.
Man, I am definitely in a time warp - totally out of step with my own generation. When I think of a hottie - I think Orlando Bloom . . . .
George Clooney
George Hamilton was fairly good looking but seemed conceited.
Who was the guy on Dallas with the grey hair? He was droolable.
JR's brother? Wasn't his name Patrick Duffy? Can't remember his name on the show though.
I was hoping pirl was not referring to JR, or, Major Nelson, as he will always be to me. Was never into the soaps.
You know something, I really wasn't feeling so well today. I've been cursed I tell ya.
I'll call Dr. Kildare right now ;)
Thornbirds guy, right?
Doug, I think we've got to stop talking about you being sick. As long as this is a fantasy thread, let's go with the pous cure working. Ta da! Forget Dr Killdeer. I pronounce you well. And I do officially work in a hospital until 5/23. [ I am a professional...so do not attempt this at home.] ~wish I knew how to put that in teeny, tiny print
The guy I meant was on an old, early 80's, nightime big show (I never saw even one episode but it was all the talk at the bank lunchroom), with Linda Evans as the co-star. Not Larry Hagman.
As for Dave........he's not cured, Gram, he's given us our own talk thread while we pray for his health. Even if he were in perfect health he should at least fake it for us after all we've done to cheer him up!
Happy Mother's Day to all that it applies.
bigcitykitty also says "Happy Mother's Day" and Omar Sharif in Dr. Zhivago! The only movie I ever say twice as a teener.
