I knew the Snow would make people Nuts........I Would be happy to recommend a nice Sunny Place to over Winter for those of you that aren't life time'ers.(I'm not sure if Sun and Fun will reverse the effects)............
I'm gonna' go an' hang back round them sunny folks before this here snow nuts rub off..
(sorry to jump into Ya'lls Thread it did look like so much fun.
Get Well Soon EVERYONE.
Pheadra
Glad you're better Dave
You ought to come up here for a visit Pheadra. Sanity can be lethal.
Well if it makes a difference,My dad and his whole Family are all from N.Y scattered all over.(and a really big Never to be told again, and I will never own up to telling I was Born in Sodus,N.Y spent 2 whole weeks there....) .Hmmm Might explain why I was Drawn to this thread.
Sheesh, you make it sound like it's bad up here.
Wow, you guys took my suggestion and ran with it! Now I have to think about my two choices. Might not be human. The alternate personalities cannot be frequently sick, like Dave / Doug.
Has anyone noticed that nobody wants to be Dave47. Too sick!
Victor, told you we missed you ;0) hhmmmm...not human...an elephant! I'm always asking if we can get a baby elephant and DH always says no pets (dang!). they don't grow very fast and they live a long time with good care. they can help with the heavy work. definitely an elephant.
Georgia, it's not snow nuts...it's called Cabin Fever but it's not catchy, honest. Unless of course you live in a place that has snow, then it's just the "norm" and everyone has a bad case of it around Jan. The good news is it goes away right around this time of the year. Although I must admit, some of us on this thread seem to be having a hard time to get rid of it this year. I would guess it has a lot to do with the Easter Storm we had. Pretty soon it will be a new bug going round....it's called "Sunburned Brain" and it only happens to the ones who get "Cabin Fever", so your safe! But don't run away...we know you southerners have flowers in bloom and we don't.....thats part of why we get cabin fever. So SHARE WITH US all your lovely blooms!!!!!!!!!
One of my choices is overnight stand-in for Michael Douglas.
Victor - who's the co-star?
Guess!!
Not his current wife?
That would be the goddess.
Have you all quit work to keep this thread lively?
Hi GA! Pheadra is a great name.
Schicken, I loved the Spam can and the cure is kicking in. Is it too late to ask about the side effects?
I know Karen Carpenter, she grew up in New Haven, but who is Sofonisba? And Artemisia Gentileschi?
I would like to be Atticus Finch. The Dad in To Kill A Mockingbird. He is a favorite. And Dumbledore. Do I have to be Dave? He's too sick!
Keeping you healthy IS work, Dave / Doug / Atticus. Wasn't there a riot in Atticus?? Being Dumbledore would be cool. I'd rather be Harry though.
I'd rather be Marjorie Rawlings.
So glad you're up to typing a few lines Dave/Doug/Atticus/Dumbledore.
Do you want Michael Douglas's wife, too? I don't.
Then I'll take your share, Pirl!! Doubles for me. (Psst - don't tell my wife please.)
What's it worth to you?
As the commercial says - priceless.
But does she accept Master Card?
What's a Dumbledore?
The head wizard from Harry Potter. Shame Loretta!!
Dave, Sofonisba Anguissola and Artemesia Gentileschi were painters from the italian renaissance. Nobody knows about them because they were women. Cool! You knew Karen Carpenter. Poor woman. I feel for her life.
Victor - there's no shame in wanting Catherine Zeta-Jones. She is gorgeous and talented. Did you see her in Chicago? WOW!!
Harper
Man, I invent characters for me to play in all my favourite books - for Harry Potter, I am Sarah Finn - because that is what she is a seraphim - an angel of the highest order, the embodiment of pure joy. Ah . . . well, that could be my third personality, not exactly an alter ego . . .
Everyone seems to want to have personalities of already existing people or characters. Am I the only one inventing mine?
Seandor, We are pretty sure you invented Seandor!
Michael Douglas' wife is nice but if this is fantasy, I'll take Brad Pitt's significant other.
Victor: Attica! Attica! Attica! And you're a New Yorker!
Must look up those artists Haror. I always wondered about your DG name.
I'm off to a 15 hour work day today. Just your typical government employee. You should see what I do when I'm not sick!
See you at 20 hundred hours sir.
Harper: it doesn't matter if Victor saw CZJ in Chicago! He wants to see her in Stony Point!
Who is Brad Pitt's SO? Or is Dave delusional again? Must be the fever.
Isn't is Angelina Jolie?
Aha! The lips.
Jolie is sexy but very strange. I'd be afraid she would cut me or I'd wake up with some freaky tattoo on my a**. Then again, it might be worth it. I did see Catherine in Chicago - she was fantastic. And yes, I would rather see her a few inches away. A made-up personality? Some time traveler - my name would be Anachronos. Fitting, since I grew up in a Greek neighborhood.
Are her lips "enhanced"?
I grew up in a German-Irish-Greek-Italian neighborhood so maybe GIGI should be my new name?
How did we get to renaming ourselves and thinking about the personalities we'd like to be while Dave is ailing?
I saw CZJ in my office a few years back when she was pregnant. She was carpet shopping. I remember her bending down to feel the rug on display, slipped and fell on her bum. She was a very graceful faller.
Seandor, I'm ashamed that I'm not using my creative energies to think up of a fantastic personality (or three) for myself. My only excuse is that I'm in a mad rush these past few days to finish a rug I'm working on. See me working hard? Ha!
Poor Dave. We forgot all about him. How are you feeling today Dave? Don't work to hard. You need to save your strength.

Harper - Rug you are working on? You make rugs?
I design rugs for a company in NY. I just do the drawing of them, then they get sent to the mill (usually in China) to be woven.
How cool is that? Answer: Verrrrry cool. Any pictures that you can share?
I have a bunch on my old computer, but nothing on the new one. Sorry! Oh wait. There's one.
Most of the rugs I do are custom. Sometimes I have a lot of design input, sometimes none. This one, they showed me an existing rug and asked me to make changes to adjust for size and color. Oh, and I had to change the center letter to a B. I drew the whole thing, but the original design is not one of mine. It's all I have to show.
Harper
It's beautiful!
Wow! functional art . . . it's terrific!
That is very nice. I'm just not a carpet person. They're not healthy and harbor lots of problems. Nothing like wood floors. Or laminate.
