Yea Sylvia, you're confusing me!AAAAAHHHHHH! I'm so confused!LOL You used to be Cedric? You know all these names have to fit on that name tag, right? Better not change it again.:)
Mary Lee
Texas Roundup - 4/29/06 HEAD COUNT!
I'll be happy to help you too, Marylyn! I'm bringing a snack, just don't know what yet.
Okay, I started the trading list:
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/586076/
Finaly got around to a room reservation at the Comfort for friday night.
Woohoo! Okay, so those people who will be in the area already Saturday morning, do you want to meet somewhere for breakfast? I'll be spending Fri and Sat nights in Brenham.
Sounds like a great idea to me.
Mary, what time are you considering meeting for breakfast and where? I plan on breakfast before unloading for sure! So if you let us know where you are meeting and when, we can come there first as we get in town. Us, being myself, Posie4U, City_Sylvia & a friend.
I can be wherever you want whenever you want, since you guys are the ones traveling the distance. Hopefully some of the College Station/Bryan people will join in, and will have some recommendations.
I'm up for breakfast! I'm in town too...What kind of food is your fancy?
Aggicorgi is from College Station and said they have a Golden Corral that has a breakfast buffet. They are usually very large and roomy so we would have room for anyone who showed up. Since Dave really doesn't want us to be there too early, we could meet for breakfast 8:30 or 9 a.m. Sound ok?? If so, I will try to post the address.
Edited to say: Oops, posted on top of the one I am speaking about! LOL!! Maybe you can give us the address???

Shelia Golden Corral is on University Drive (SH60). It can be accessed from SH6. The address is 700 UNIVERSITY DRIVE EAST, College Station, 77840.
That sounds great to me!
Mary, Ted ....?
Here is the mapquest link for Golden Corral, it seems easy to find.

Ok, I've got name tags. This is going to be fun! :-) We'll probably need several people at the "welcome table" at the beginning, anyway. Then maybe we can just take turns keeping an eye on it. :-)
I will be willing to help when needed at the check-in table.
Marylyn...since I am riding with you I have volunteered to help you...Jo
Roadrunner is the best when it comes to the Greeting Table at Roundups...better take her up on it, Marylyn!
(Jo,...make me an ID badge and send it to me, I can be there "in spirit " that way, or pretend to be there!!)
ROFLOL!!! Way to go Horseshoe!!!
Sheila, now I can only hope you'll be at that same table (keeping RR in line, right!!?) (Trust me, she's a handfull!) :>)
Ya'll have a great time. Take pics. Ain't nuttin' like a DG RoundUp!
Breakfast buffet at the Golden Corral sounds great. Thanks aggiecorgi!
Shoe, it'll be great to have you here in spirit, just don't go haunting us, lol.
Sounds great, Jo! :-)
Someone needs to blow up a pic of Horseshoe so we can have him in the group pictures. LOL
Well, I was going to be moving at that time, but now I'm not. So, hopefully I'll be able to come, even though I haven't been here at DG that long. Is it still possible to put me down as a definite 'maybe'?
Absolutely! Atleast it's a "definite maybe?" and not a "no way". We must remain hopeful.:)
Horseshoe....any Round up that I attend you will always "be there in Spirit" as you are in my Spirit heart always. If there will be a CD player at the RU I could always bring 'Shoe's CD Story! Jo
Good news, ampy! Hope your "maybe" turns into "I'm on my way!"
Jo, I'll bet we can arrange to have a CD player there. I have one I can bring, did I hear that there are electrical outlets at the park?
Snacks I can manage, I don't know how to do anything without garlic and onion, so the snacks I bring are likely to be loved by some and loathed by others!
-Bob
OOOOh Yum Garlic and Onions!
Garlic and Onions are a fact of life at my house! Yuuuummmm!
Mary Lee
I'm always attracted to garlic and onions, sounds like a real winner!
Well then here is a must bring for me!
This is a great snack for second breakfast, The meal between breakfast and elevenses.
In a mortar, crush with some salt, chopped parsley, rosemary, thyme, green onion and minced garlic. Don't be shy on the herbs. Mix 1 part of butter to 3 parts cream cheese. Add the herb mix. Cover and put in the fridge for a while.
Toast some slices of bagette. Scmeer some on the toasted bread and put a slice of radish on top. This calls out for a rich red wine, but coffee does well enough.
-Bob
You sound like a really good cook, Bob. Every;thing sounds great except the bread. I'm hypoglycemic, so I can't eat it, but I'd love to stand around and smell it.:)
Mary Lee
Can you eat fruit, Mary Lee? I can bring veggies instead of fruit if it would be better for you.
*Thunk... (ouch!...)
Sorry, just fell off my chair whilst dreaming about eating that, throneofyord/Bob.
I think you better make lots of it!
Shoe.
garlic and onions and bagettes....Oh MY !!!!!!!
I'll be there
Kip
Marylyn, No sorry I can't eat fruit either. But thanks for asking. I'm sure there will many others that can. I think others have mentioned that they will bring veges. I have gotten used to not being able alot of the things that are brought to gatherings like this. I used to eat anything I wanted and lots of it and someday maybe I can do that again. But not yet.
LOL at Horseshoe!
I would LOVE to join ya'll! I almost missed this, I was peeking in the RU forum looking for something this spring that I might be able to attend. Of course, I was thinking of something just a tad closer, it's a 1500 mile drive, LOL! Still, it might be possible.
I will try some wrapped in mint leaves. But then I like the crunch. I don't think I will have any celery growing, but I guess {Shudder} I could get some from the grocery. Perhaps if I just scmeered some on a radish slice? This is a recipe modified from one the French use for second breakfast. I love it, a Hobbit meal! They don't usually add the onion or the parsley, but there are few recipes that fresh parsley cannot improve. Anyway, Mary Lee Silverfluter (a perfect name for someone eating with Hobbits,) I will try and improvise a proper subtitute for your enjoyment. Do you think a carrot would do? If you brought a cracker that you were comfortable with, that would work fabulously!

Oh, jody, that would be wonderful if you can come! Don't worry, it will be worth the 1500 mile trip. :-)
Bob, I appreciate you bending your recipe to fit my needs. It sounds very interesting. I can eat carrots and I love celery. Radishes maybe. DH likes radishes so much he actually goes to the trouble of growing his own. There is a cracker that I can eat, but our HEB hasn't had them in a long time. If I can find some I'll bring them. BTW it sounds like you must be a Hobbit fan. That's good to know. There are more of us out there I know.:)
Man, I have a LOT to catch up on. Will we all be getting emails or something with a synopsis and itinerary????????????? Times, places, etc?????????????
