Hi,

As usual I'll never catch up with everyone here, but I'll take a stab at it anyway. We seem to be having a re-run of that rotten bug here --- sinus headache, sniffles, etc., but at least no brochitis this time around.

DH ran the store today so I got a chance to repot some plants, bring in the last of the cukes and green tomatoes, and the poor half- ripe butternut squashes from what's left of my garden. Didn't manage to get any of the tulip bulbs I bought planted though. It was nice to see a little sunlight for a change.

I wondered if it was the wax story that got deleted. I can't imagine anyone who normally posts here getting all huffy about that! I think that I mentioned at the time that a friend has already sent me that story and that I had sent it on to DH's elder daughter.

Kooger, glad to hear the results of the MRI.

Robert, are you sure there was a stranger right next to your bed? That would have me spooked for weeks! Didn't the dogs even bark?

Maria, I hope things lighten up for you very soon.

My sympathy to all who have lost loved ones. There's really not much anyone can say to help.

Beautiful garden, Ann. I lost my few crocuses this year. DH had given me a little pot of them a few years ago and I planted them in my tiny garden in front of my store. They had been coming up every year and had even started to increase, but the long cold Spring apparently did them in.

Just a simple supper on the stove tonight --- ham, potatoes, and carrots which should be done any minute now. As I said, nothing fancy, but help yourselves!

I know that I'm forgetting stuff (what else is new?), but that's it for me for now. Goodnight all.

Robert!! That's unsettling... No Clues, since it wasn't your wife? No dogs barking? Must have been someone familiar to them... Scary.

Anne (magoobu), isn't it time for you to pick up that palm tree from your mother? You silly girl... lol

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

I may have mentioned that before but if you have a very clear sky look to the east and you will see the red planet Mars, in a size one does not see very often, I just keep staring at it and wonder if there was life on it once upon a time.

OK, here's what I got at the store, on sale, 4 for $10.

The best of Country Cooking 2002
The Best of Country Cooking 2003
Quick Cooking Annual Recipes
Taste of Home Annual Recipes 2004
(These were the four for $10, ) and
Best of Country Slow Cooker Recipes (this was half price) @ $5.

As far as the annual editions, there wasn't a complete selection.
I saw they had the older years, not all of them, but some from 97, 99, and 2001, 2, and 3. Not sure if I saw any more annuals from 04. They also had lots of Holiday Cooking -not sure of the year. If anybody wants any of these, I can go back there tomorrow while there is still a good supply and pick them up, and mail them to you. Postage shouldn't be much for media mail...but you have to let me know tomorrow a.m. so I can get there early. I will fill requests on a first come, first serve basis, so post early if you have a list! I don't have another 20% off coupon though....!

Carat, you wuz robbed!! $18 apiece? Whew! Now I really feel like a bargain hunter.

I got them because they make wonderful gifts...and at that price, you can't go wrong.

Robert, you need to lecture those puppies on their watch dog responsibilities! Maybe it was your neighbor's granddaughter again?

The dogs are crated at night, and aren't barkers, at least not yet, and we will be certain all doors are locked henceforth. Somehow I missed the controversial 'wax' story, hope it wasn't just a 'girl thing'. Some of those go right over my head. DW checked in and doesn't have Jury Duty the rest of the week. Gets to go with "The Girls" to a time-share one of them has around Lake Chelan (eastern Washington) for a few days. I guess it's pretty universal, when a bunch of you girls get together there's a lot of talking, and laughing, at least that's what happens with her group.

Cookbooks 4 for $ 10.00 ?? what a deal! Good thing I wasn't there or my truck would have been overloaded. Dinnerbell just rang, time to dine.

Thanks for all the wonderful support on the MRI issue. I told a few gals at work that his MRI was 'clear' - not a thing to be seen between the ears! Actually, I have to admit he really has been a good kid. We haven't had much trouble with him at all! And I also would like to see that actual MRI picture - proof positive that there is some gray matter, good ammunition for the future stupid act(s) that are sure to come one day.

For those of u who have lost children or grandchildren, to me it is absolutely uncomprehensible ---- my greatest sympathy and admiration to those that survive such a trajedy. I just was reading about one of the families of a 9/11 victim and it is like their lives are divided in two parts. Events that happened before Tom died versus events that happened after Tom diedl. It has always been my greatest fear to lose a child.

Maria, pls go talk to a psych doc - my DH's and MIL's is excellent and I think there's a lot of good ones out there. I think it helps to pick one that is somewhat on the same plane that u are on - faith-wise. Then again, maybe not, what do I know???????

Have a good sleep all!
