Coffee and...Part 41...! :-D

Sarv, you better lean against the wall or better still sit down when you get dressed or undressed, a friend of mine fell while putting on her panties without sitting sown she broke her hip.

Carat, will go to see her if I am not better but I think I am on the mend, what a huge cat!

I am going to bed early too, if not to sleep but just to rest
Night all, Maria

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Well as usual you all have outdone yourselves talking today. I didn't get back after my first post this morning, so it has taken me awhile to catch up. I clipped on the pedometer again today and so far have walked 3.48 miles!! It's still awhile till bedtime so I could do 4 miles!!

First thing this morning went to DM and was going to straighten the storage shed. This building has a shed attached to one side and it was crammed full of junk. So cleaned that out and straightened it up. Had 6 large bags of garbage. Mind you this is not my mother's stuff, it was stuff my son had put there when he was staying with her. So I will have to go back another day to tackle the building. Then I planted about a gallon bucket of daffodils for her and put in a hardy geranium. Then helped DH dig sweet potatoes. We had a wheel barrow full. I can home and planted the other 1 gallon of daffodils by my garage. I had lunch and rested. Went out and watered everything, and fixed supper. I still have not gotten a shower so that is next on my agenda.

After I have showered, I will be back to comment on several things that I have read.

Julie, I got one of those greenhouses last summer when they were on sale, tried to fold it back up to put it in the big bag, and it attacked me. Now it's just leaning against the wall inside the garage, because I know when I'm outwitted.

Went to dr. today, cholesterol is good, but I think she made a mistake. She put me on Crestor last year, and gave me 20mg. samples to try, when I went back for a blood test, she decided I needed a higher dose and added 10 mg. and gave me scripts for both. So today, she asked me (!) why I was taking both, and said she didn't remember prescribing the extra and now I'm back to 20 mg. Said I should drop the Vitamin E completely due to recent studies on women's health. Yayyyy two less pills to swallow.

Off to law'n'order. Good Maria, rest! Glad you're doing better.
Had leftovers for dinner....Since DH didn't offer to take me out for my birthday, I wasn't about to cook. pfffft. No card either. Maybe he's waiting for the "official" birthday which is the 22nd, 'cuz my dad was the town clerk and the story is like the shoemaker's children....last to get shod.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Just checkin in. Red Hat group lunch today was fun. Had a piece of mile high lemon meringue pie. We'll see what the damage is when I check in with the weight loss challenge people tomorrow. lol

I think I'll hit the sack early for a change. DH is on a plane back from Calgary and they had a 90 minute dealy because of mechanical problems. That means I might expect him to show up here around 3 am by the time he gets transportation. He might have just carry-on. I hope so because Ottawa ariport is really poky about baggage.

Good night all.

Millbury, MA(Zone 5a)

Just a quick hi to all.

kooger, thanks for saying you'll keep an eye out for those bobbins. I really appreciate it. I'd be willing to pay up to $10.00 for one because it's such a pain to try to sew with only one bobbin to my name.

M5, I don't know about "spoiled rotten" cats (ha, believe that one and I have a nice bridge to sell you), but I do know that it's written in the cats' book of rules that "it always tastes better if you steal it from the other guy's dish" The three cats in this household all eat expensive prescription dry food because one of them has a tendency to get urinary tract blockage. I wouldn't even want to TRY to feed them all different things.

Maria, I'm glad you're feeling better. I still think we might both need lifejackets though, if the next storm dumps a lot more rain on us.

sarv, hat's off to you for all that work that you got accomplished (and for being so willing to help somebody else out in the first place).

I just go through separating and re-packing a whole lot of meat from a trip to BJ's. The freezer is stocked for another month or more and I've about had it for today.

Have a good night everyone.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

want a laugh. The powers that be seem to think that a lottery here in Las Vegas would be bad for our image.

Now that should explain a whole lot about the strange place I live.

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Okay, showered, and sat down to read as DH is watching Baseball game!! No interest in sports unless it is UK basketball game.

Sarv, I know what you mean about parents. I watch over my mom. She lives by herself, and I check on her every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. She is still doing good, does some cooking but I have hired a cleaning person who comes every 2 weeks. It is so good of you to clean your cousin's house, and to take food to your niece. You must have an awful time managing those angel wings!! DH fixed chili for supper!! If mine cooked anything, I would eat it, he is not acquainted with the kitchen at all.

Aria, glad to hear you are better. Just keep moving for that back, and rest for that cold/cough. I agree beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Julie, tell me about those green house units. I lust after a custom built one. I keep thinking if I am a good enough girl "wink, wink" may eventually get one!!

Jasmerr, sounds like your weather is just about like ours. We set a record today with a temp of 80. Even now, sitting at the computer, with windows and doors open, at 11:00, I am sweating. Oh, it could just be a hot flash!!

Babs, thanks for the scones, been ages since I had them. Now on the other subject of lamb, have never tried it, just have a mental picture of the wooly creatures, and cannot make myself do it!! Sorry about the fax problem, and wouldn't you know it victim of an unnecessary accessory, Do we have dumb written on the forehead? Fat cat, but a nice pic. I have one who is huge. Haven't weighed her lately, but probably in that same size range.

Mary, I enjoyed the link to your trail rides. I stand amazed at your endurance, much less your horses.

Digginit, so you got bit by the DL bug. Same here. I am just starting, so watch out. Sorry about the no computer problem, maybe if I had that problem I would get more done. So tell me whatis pot getto?

Mg, I laugh every time I read your posts. Overslept, not so good. Hate it when the day starts that way. I chuckled at your getting all your bulbs planted, 4 hyacinths. To each his own. Now you can brag about it, but don't add the number of bulbs, sounds really good. Oh BTW, when you find the brain store, please let me know where it is, I find I need it occasionally. And had a post deleted from the test forum, you must be really bad.

Playa, and you are a guy, okay, have my censorship fingers on, don't want to offend the opposite sex. And you are just starting your garden. So is this the beginning of your "summer"?

Tgif, I am with you, I am my own person, don't think I am beautiful, but maybe attractive, average intelligence, so I think that I do all right. Come to think of it, I don't think any of my siblings, have beauty or brains. So I guess we are AVERAGE. I am really gullible, if you tell me something, unless it is outrageous on the face of it, I will believe you, until I discover otherwise. Trusting soul. I laughed, when I read about dropping your book 3 times. Isn't it easier to just get in bed and read, then if you drop it, it doesn't have far to fall.

Morning Gayle, are we really ready for photos. Let's don't, and that way we can perserve our mental images of each other.

Happy, you asked about energy. Well my philosophy is I would rather be doing whatever now than when I have to trudge through the snow to get it done. No some days, I just veg, do nothing, and enjoy it immensely. But with winter coming, I am sure that I will have too many of those days. So I guess, make hay while the sun shines is my motto.

Meezer, does it make you think your Dr, is not on top of things. Increasing cholestrol meds, and then telling you to lower them. And what about the Vitamin E? Haven't heard anything about that. I take it daily.

Viola Ann, hubby coming home, how long has he been gone? Are we expecting an intimate reunion tonight?

Well since I last posted, I have walked (according to my pedometer) 3.53 miles. DH says that that can't be right. He doesn't know, as he has not followed me all day. I am going to give it to him to wear tomorrow, and I bet that he says it is wrong, that he walked more than that!!

Well, I am going to prepare for bed. I slept like a log last night, and hope to do the same tonight. Mr. B (jack russell) was outside this morning, and I asked DH when he let him out. About 1:00, but I sure don't remember him doing it.

Well fuzzy dreams to everyone, hope you wake refreshed and ready to tackle the day.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Mc Cool, Bobbins. For what kind of sewing machine???? I love to sew. I have a Brother Innovis 4000D. I own 8 machine, I may have some of what you need.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Hi everyone. That's one big cat Crarat, and I thought my 15# plus guy was tubby! What do you feed him? How old is he and what's his name? Does he even fit on a lap?

Lee, welcome to the Gobs threads, we need more guys here for balance. I was reading something you have written on another thread about life in the tropics and enjoyed it very much. You write very well and it was a pleasure to read.

Robert must be very busy with the new pup. It's like having a new baby, they always need attention and this baby is very mobile!

Aria, it may take a few more days before your energy starts to come back so plan on doing a lot of nothing. It always amazes me how something you can't even see can wipe you out like that.

Today's "rain" amounted to a few drops and I wouldn't have seen those if I hadn't been outside at the time. We did have a lot of wind that made it uncomfortable to work outside but got a break this afternoon. I got the rest of the flower bed dug up and weeds cleared out, then got the tractor going and hauled a big scoop of ancient barn cleanings which were transfered to a wheelbarrow and taken to the flower bed and spread about 4 inches deep over it. I'm thinking I will dig it in next spring since I'm not planting anything in there this fall, and the weather and worms will have a lot of it taken care of by spring. Of course the cats will think it is the place to "go" so I might change my mind to make it less inviting for them. And more work for me. I'll probably take the lazy way out and work on another flower bed instead. As you can see, I'm undecided.

Goodnight all. Sleep well.

My sweet babies name is Kitty. He is 11 and he fits on wide laps. He is a big lover and when my dad was still alive he was his heating blanket. Kitty would curl up with him on the bed. I also have another cat who's name is PITA =Pain In The Arse. He is like having a 2 year old in the house again. He is in to everything, and brings me and DD presents way to much.

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Grrrr, can't sleep again, so hauled my bum outta bed and am sitting by the computer. It is almost 2am!!! And tomorrow I am taking MIL for her blood test - you know I need to be rested for that chore!! Hope she doesn't say anything to tick me off!

Defoe - my doc told me I need to walk 10,000 steps a day (5 miles) I seldom get that in unless I go to the walking path and huff away. I have made it up to 13,000 steps a couple of times when I was planting the gardens and hauling compost from the other side of the yard. Now I have a small John Deere and I don't get many steps in. Lazy girl here!! I think the steps should be prorated for oldsters!!

M5 - yikes - a doc with no memory!! Thank goodness I'm not on any meds except my allergy pills that are a 'take when needed type of stuff'- I don't like pills. My goal is to control everything by eating good- however with my awful diet, I fear I won't be pill-less for long! (scones are history here- ate them all by myself!)

Last fall I stopped in at a local 'bird feeder' store and looked down and said 'oh my gosh, I've never seen a stuffed cat before" On the shelf was the BIGGESST cat I have ever seen - hardly moved as it was so enormous - and it was alive. Poor thing looked mighty uncomfortable too.

Our kitty is being a pain in the patootie right now. She wants to be outside all the time, but wants in every 15 min for a couple of bites of food. If we don't let her in NOW, she scratches at the window screens and when she wants out, she has this annoying habit of meowing in a loud way then scratching at the door moldings. DH and I take turns letting her out. Come winter, she will freeze going out so often.

I'm hardly an angel gals - I charge for my cleaning!! I have to drive 45 min. to get to my cousins house and I told him up front that I wasn't doing it for nothing. He gives me 40 bucks, but I spend most of it buying him things for his house (ie, this month new mini blinds) I truely believe in doing for others if you are able.

Where's Bal been? Haven't heard any tales of the new pootchie. Maybe he's just tired out having a pup again!

Can't believe that it is Thurs already, man does time fly..gonna go surf for a while..

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

I've been up for over an hour and see I am first one in for coffee? Oh I see Sarv was awake at 2, no wonder, she's sleeping in.

Pretty dark outside for this hour of the day. Just checked the Weatherbug, looks like it's going to be raining from here until Wilma. She's a scarry one.

I'm trying to decide if I should pot my plants up or leave them in the ground until after this storm. They all have to be moved eventually you know. Also, a storm this size would decimate any garden. I could store them in the gym until the storm passes. But I did want them to be in pots and get settled before moving them north. They may have to sit for a month or so before I can get them replanted up there. That's probly what I will do.

In the meantime I will sit here in denial for a few minutes and see if anyone is in chat.

Molly
:^)))

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Hi Molly, I was in chat but the Foreign Host kicked me off, which I thought was pretty rude since I couldn't under stand a word he was saying! Did you get that photo from mg? I laughed out loud and DH came to see what I was hooting about.

Sarv and I shared a lousy night's sleep in our separate corners of the state. Yeeeks, one good night a week hardly seems fair. Would have expected her to sleep better after all that cleaning work.

Carat, what a lovely friend you have. We've got one chubby cat, who has to brace himself on a wall or furniture to bathe but he's mostly round, and nowhere near the size of yours! I have a photo somewhere but I'm too lazy to go look for it.

Happy I'm a firm believer in spending it now, I just wrote a big check to my son from my 401K...I don't see any point in being generous to your kids after you are dead and gone. I'll always have a roof over my head and food to eat, so I'm well taken care of.

Molly, the furniture on the empty lot is a hoot! They must not have expected much rain! I think a big hole is appropriate, don't know what else you could do with them! Plant spuds in them, and call them couch potatos? (Oops, sorry, it's early....)

McCool I'll check into the antique/junk stores I cruise through and see if anyone has left any bobbins you could use. You never know what treasures you will find....I always carry a tape measure in my bag, so I can see if clothes will fit, and it has metric on the back side.

I think it' time to run the Animal, I see clumps of fur on the rug...Poor Souky is avoiding me like the plague, she doesn't like the antibiotics I'm dribbling down her throat, (and on me.......) and is holding a grudge. They gave me a choice of pills or liquid, and I figured my chances of getting it into her are better with the liquid. I've had cats that would "swallow" it and later I'd find it in a corner somewhere.

Robert must have his hands full with his new girlfriend. Did you see he posted more pics in the Pet Forum. She's a livewire for sure!! Cute as can be though.

Off to the shower!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Good morning every body!
Got up early before sunrise went for a walk as it got lighter and decided to go back to bed, slept two hours more.
I feel so much better, cough is slowly disappearing.,

I am sorry, Molly, you are getting clubbered with another hurricane but am also some what concerned Wilma is going to travel up the coast and hit us. We have not had one in quite a few years, every one says we are due, I certainly hope they are wrong. I remember how awful it is.

Feel the same way as you do, Meezers, give the children now not after I am gone, I like to see the pleasure in their faces now , how can I after? What do you mean by 'Foreign Host"?( english sometimes slays me, why is there a 'g' in foreign? used to bug my teachers about that, lol)

Sarv, of course you are an angel many would not do this for all
the money there is! But please be more carefull what you put in your mouth I always worry about friends eating too much of not the right stuff'
I'll try to see what's going on on chat!
Maria

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Wow you guys talk lots in the morning.

I should be at Aquafit class, but ... well we'll get to that later.

DH arrived in about 2:30 am. I never sleep well when I know he's going to roll in middle of the night. He travels all the time. This was a short trip to Calgary - left at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning. And the dummy didn't take a house key and didn't tell me that he hadn't. That meant he had to find our kidden key - not easy where we hide it, to find in the middle of the night. And in the process, he made enough noise he might just as well have rung the bell. After all that I had difficulty getting back to sleep. He hit the bed and was out almost immediately. (Just as well as on Thursdays he "hangs out" with our grand-twins.)

I DID drag myself up to the pool (late) and started pulling stuff out of my swim bag only to find EVERYTHING including the clean underwear was covered with shampoo which had leaked from a bottle that hadn't gotten closed properly on Tuesday. I decided that I couldn't cope given the amount of sleep I had and came home. Swim bag and a load of dark laundry is now in washing machine with the detergent being primarily shampoo. lol

On the plus side - a gorgeous day here is a bit cool this morning. We will most likely have our first frost tonight. But this is the first day we've seen sun, GLORIOUS SUN, in - well I don't remember.

This just arrived through my Red Hat group. Thought you might enjoy it.

Subject: Maude & Claude

Maude and Claude, both 91, lived in a retirement community. They met in the social centre and discovered over time that they enjoyed each other's company. After several weeks of meeting for coffee, Claude asked Maude out for dinner and much to his delight, she accepted.

They had a lovely evening. They dined at the most romantic restaurant in town. And despite his age, Claude was still a charmer. Afterward, Claude asked Maude to join him at his place for an
after-dinner drink.

Things continued along a natural course and age being no inhibitor, Maude soon joined Claude for a most enjoyable roll in the hay. As they were basking in the glow of the magic moments they'd shared, each was lost for a time in their own thoughts.

Claude was thinking: "If I'd known she was a virgin , I'd have been more gentle."

Maude was thinking: "If I'd known he could still do it, I'd have taken off my pantyhose."
