Dave there are still problems with displaying images.
I just added three images to the PlantFiles and only 2 out of 5 displayed an image in the preview. The two that did were both in a horizontal format, the three that didn't were all vertical format and therefore larger pictures in the preview display.
Before proceeding, I went to my info page and checked the images pending.
Here the result was mixed, thumbnails appeared for 15 out of 20 on the page but 5 stayed blank. Refreshing the page then brought up the missing images so I deduced taht the images had loaded into the pending queue correctly.
Sometimes I had to refresh 4 or 5 times before I saw all the images and each refresh brough up a different subset of the thumbnails that should have shown on the screen,

Culpeper, VA(Zone 7a)

I can only view some photos in thumbnail size only. If I click to enlarge, I just the big box with red x. One some forums I can't even view the thumbnails - just a page of red x's.

Clay Center, KS(Zone 5b)

Home, lurking as usual...no problems to report. All seems well, timely, good images..
Thanks Dave.

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Dave,
Most all photos are red x's for me.

Culpeper, VA(Zone 7a)

Well, now I can't see any thumbnails at all - just red x boxes. And I've refreshed, rebooted, held down the shift, yadayadayada.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Did you hold your tongue just right, as Pins2006 suggested? ;-)

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

me too,no pictures. i added pictures to the photo forum today, they were there, now they're not. debi

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Yep, photos are a problem here, too. But only in the forums - PlantFiles seems to be working fine (knocking on wood ;o)

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

i refreshed, held shift and stuck my tongue out, it worked. i hope we don't have to do that with every picture. i look goofy enough. debi

Give me some URLs to where you are seeing broken images.

Dave,
they are back. Just a glitch?

Arlington, GA(Zone 8a)

Thank you, Thank you I could have gone into DTs
with out my coleus fix ....lol
Dave you are the MAN.......

I did make a change. Did it fix the problem?

It was hard, since -I- was seeing the pictures so it was hard to fix something (kind of like fixing an engine blind-folded).

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Dave, checking todays Plantfiles Newsletter I clicked on http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/96707/index.html to read kell's negative comment. It's not there.
Thanks,
sidney

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Yea!! Thanks, Dave. :-)

Northwest, OH(Zone 5b)

NOW I know why I couldn't get DG to come up today! LOL.

That's a great error report, Sidney. There are a lot of PlantFiles pages that are a little out of date.

They'll all be fixed by the morning.

Dave, first let me say I enjoyed getting the PFNL until we didn't and particularily like the Keats quote today.
The picture of the day was a red x though and when I clicked it I got this message;
Database error: Invalid SQL:
MySQL Error: 1054 (Unknown column 'showimage' in 'where clause')
Session halted.
Thanks,
sidney

I had to try several times posting a message. It wouldn't go through. After several tries it did. Didn't get any error messages just slow as molasses.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

Hey i can see all the pics now and dont have to try all kinds of tricks to make them work!!!! great job dave!!

Culpeper, VA(Zone 7a)

Yup - same here. All pics are showing up for me this morning as well. Thanks!

Dave, several times today I have gone back to my "home" screen and have seen this config. in the "watched" threads... one in black and offset... Link still works, just looks funky.

Darius,

When is the last time that this happened?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Dave, here's another, but very different, captured at 5 pm

Darius,

This is highly unusual; and you're the only one to whom it's happening (at least, who is reporting it!)

I know you don't have a virus, since you aren't using Windows. :-)

Would you mind rebooting your computer, and then report what happened?

dave

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Actually, I have rebooted twice today, thinking that might be the problem. Didn't fix it.

It's intermittent so it's not a real problem for me and if no one else has reported it, maybe it's just MY problem somehow. However, I have had the screen like the last one I posted many times over the last 6 months, just not in a while. Never had the "black screen" stuff until today.

I ran Norton and Disk Warrior, no problems found.

I don't know, Darius. I'm at a complete loss. :(

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Just ignore it, Dave... unless someone else reports it as a problem. I'm adept enough to live with it. : )

I don't like the solution but it's all we have for now.

I am curious if it only happens when you use Firefox, or if it happens with all browsers.

dave

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Hmmmm, I seldom use anything but Firefox, except when a long thread won't open. I'll keep that in mind.

Well, Firefox is the best, no doubt.

But, does the problem also manifest itself with IE or Safari?

Irving (Dallas area), TX(Zone 8a)

Hey, Dave. I wanted to poke in and say that I've had the black highlight-type thing too (using Firefox-Fedora). But I've seen it before the new servers so I don't think it's related to that.

It isn't an urgent problem, but I'll try to watch for it carefully and see if I can figure out what triggers it.

-Paul-

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

I have not seen that and I am using Firefox exclusively.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Dave, I won't have any elec. tomorrow, maybe most of the day, but when I can get back online, I will do a half day of Safari, and one of IE for comparisons.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

i cant get gardentalk to open?

Spokane Valley, WA(Zone 5b)

A new pic of mine was entered into the PlantFiles this evening for this entry: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/53686/index.html

It is photo number 7. Normally, it would appear as either the last photo on that page or there would be an indication of more photos on the following page, via a note similar to:

"There are a total of 7 photos."
Click here to view them all!"

When I click on any of the first 6 photos which bring up the second page, I can readily find my own submission at the bottom.

Just thought I'd mention this anomaly in case it was related to the server switch; I haven't seen it before.
Donna
