Twisted Round Robins - Part 4

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

kooger, I'm not sure if we need a new thread.... this one is getting long, but there are few images, so hopefully it isn't too painfully slow to load for those on dial up. The robin only has a couple more stops to make, and then she will probably rest her weary wings!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Still waiting here. Hopefully today!!
Deb

Wichita, KS

Bummer, I was hoping it would keep going and going and going...LOL
I have a box of seeds waiting to go in...

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Me, too!

Raleigh, NC(Zone 8a)

I have a bajillion seeds to contribute also. I too was hoping that it would continue...

Kathy

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Perhaps we should take a vote. Those who want to drop out could, and the rest of us could continue on this insane path we travel!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

If there is an interest in another seed robin, I would be willing to host one. I'll post on the round robin forum a little later.

In the meantime... ZZ, did you mistype the confirmation number?? The post office site says it's no good.

Deb

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

continue the robin cool

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

It was sounding like the selection etc might be waning, but clearly interest in the robin has not! It's better not to just continue exactly the same robin since Alice is no longer on DG and so there's no confusion about who is still on the list or not.

How about if somebody with a bunch of seeds waiting to be added volunteers to host a continuation of this robin? Then gourd can send whatever is left of the first robin to the host of the next one, and those who want to continue with this robin can sign up again on a new thread.

Oh, I just looked up and saw that Momcat volunteered to host for us -- Thanks!

Momcat, we'll look for your post on the round robin forum to sign up for the next one. Please post a link here, too.

Meanwhile, I'll keep watching this thread as the first twisted robin makes its last few stops!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

OK, I posted in the Robin Forum, here's a link http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/567700/
If Gourd wants to send the twisted robin back to me, I can include whatever is left in it with the stash I have to send out, so it'll be another huge robin making the rounds.
This should be fun!!

What happened to the reverse round robin? I am totaly lost as to what is going on. Please anyone

New York & Terrell, TX(Zone 8b)

makshi,

The reverse round robin was lost at member tinawind's place.
No one knows what happened for sure.

Hello Deb and Everyone-

I Tried to Send a D-Mail to Deb on Friday Afternoon but it Wouldn't Take My Mail Here at Dave's. And then I Lost the Connection and Couldn't Get Back on the Site. I Don't Know What Happened.

Well Friday When I Got Home from the University the Robin that I Had Sent the Week Before was Sent Back Here in a Clear Plastic Postal Bag and the Box was Crushed and Open on One Corner...but the Inside Tyvek Mailer was Fine. So I Rushed to the PO Friday and Just Made it...I Rolled Up the Tyvek Bag...Added a Sheet of Bubble Material Inside and Taped it Good and Shut...and Re-Mailed it on Friday(1/13). I Paid to Get a New Delivery Confirmation Number and Postage.

The 'NEW' Delivery Confirmation Number is:
0304 1560 0000 9082 9649

I'm Sorry Deb for Not Getting Back Here Sooner and Letting You Know.
I Hope it Lands in Your Mailbox Tomorrow, Tuesday(1/17).

Lelan.

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

I am absolutely amazed that something that I started so long ago is still going on!!!!

Is there any chance that I could be added to the end of a list of one or the other of the robins!!

I have absolutley no right to ask but I am sure curious about all of the things that have been added and subtracted from the original boxes!!!

I all most fell off my chair when I saw this post!!!haha

Alice

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Alice!!!!! Yahooooo!!!!!! *HAPPY DANCE*

I almost fell off my chair when I saw *your* post! I'm just delighted to see you back online!

I think the backwards robin has crashed, but I also can't believe the original one is still flying.... I was relieved when Lelan posted to say only the box had been damaged, and it was again en route.

Thank you so much for hosting the twisted robin and helping to get the backwards one rolling too! You can see how much fun we've all had with your seeds and with all those that were added along the way!

Aknapp should definitely go on the list after gourd.... Alice, if you're not in the addy exchange, please Dmail gourd with your address!

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

So nice to hear from you again! We were all concerned about you and are so happy to have you back!

Wichita, KS

Welcome Back, Alice :-)
We missed you !!!!

YES - Please add Alice back to the list.
WOOHOO - Captain is back in flight.

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!!! I feel like I have had several hugs this morning and it has certainly brightened the dreary looking day outside!!!

Momcat has all ready written to tell me I could be included and I am thrilled to be able to!! I have very little that I can add in so I promise I won't take much and I will get it back on the road ASAP.

My gardens at this point after two moves in the last few months are down to about 30 plants that I could not leave behind, most of which are things I had purchased last spring.

I did manage to collect a few seeds last summer but nothing that is very exciting. I do promise I will put in more than I take!!!

Thanks all again for the warm welcome back to this weary gardener!!!

Isn't this just wonderful!! Either Gourd can send it to Alice, or I can put her in next on the list. Just let me know.

Considering you're the one who started this whole thing, Alice, take any and all you want!! When I restart it, I have a pretty good supply to beef it up with!!

How long has this robin been travelling, anyway???

Deb

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

It looks like it started on the 1st of March last year! Wow, it doesn't seem like it is nearly a year, does it.

Very nice & happy to see you back Alice. You've been missed.

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Actually, it sure does! To me it seems like a lifetime ago, expecially since you don't even see some of these folks posting any more. Some come to DG and leave, others of us stay here and grow roots!!!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Sorry, I e-mailed ZZ to let him know, but forgot to post here. The robin arrived yesterday!
Deb

Raleigh, NC(Zone 8a)

Alice,

Don't worry about putting seeds in - I put in enough for you and me twice over. As our fearless leader, you get to take what you want.

Thank you so much for starting such a fun thing!

Have a great day,
Kathy

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Oh I am SO happy to see you back,Alice! Please D-mail me if there are Any particular seeds you are looking for. I just might have them!
Gail

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

aknapp, it should come back to you since you started it! It was fun to get it, although it was a long time ago for me. Are ya'll gonna keep sending it back through the list again? Too bad the reverse got lost, it didn't get here.

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Here either... Someone made out like the Frito Bandito!

Alice - won't it be fun to see how your baby changed while you were away???

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

The reverse got stuck after arriving at Tinawind's address. I don't think anybody has heard from her in many months, but since we don't know why she is no longer posting or able to post here, let's not assume she robbed the stagecoach.

Considering the length of its flight, it's amazing to think the original robin may make it all the way back to Alice! :-)

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

One may assume anything one wants!

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

I could collect names for the reverse if anyone wants to have one. We have just finished one short round of Yesterday's News and could add that to the reverse once it makes its way to the second helping for our group. Let me know if anyone would like that and I could start upwards with it from tinawind where it got stuck.

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

The reverse robin arrived here today, lots are veg seeds that are out dated.

It was a surprise to receive it as I was taken off the list but I guess it slipped by someone.

If anyone wants taken off the list while I have it lmk and I will mark you off.

Ruth

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Any explanation as to the delay???

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

There was a note from flowrernut state'g why she was late but nothing else.

Ruth

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Well, that's c'fusing... Glad it's back in action, though. Hope you found something in it for your trouble!

Happy gardening!

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

I want off the reverse if it still has my name on it.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Ruth, I think most veggie seeds are viable for a good 5 years, so if the seeds were from last year they should be fine. I think there are some exceptions, like parsnips? If the bird has gotten skinny, you may be able to mail it in a BE at lower first class postate rates... just a thought...

Edited to add, thanks for taking the time to deal with the robin even though you weren't expecting it! It's fun to have the bird back in flight. If you don't find anything much that you want in it, Dmail me, and I'll see if I can find you a goodie or two from my stash... :-)

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I totally agree about the veg seeds - I've had great luck with older seeds and would never turn my nose up.

Have fun!

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

I'm proud to hear that the veg seeds are still good. Thanks for the offer of seeds but I don't need any more seeds this yr.

The box still has lots of seeds.

Windy I marked you off the list.

Ruth

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

The reverse is headed to PO this morning, on the way to makshi.

Ruth

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh, boy!!!
