Yes, they are beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised as it was my first try.
Sequee, I think they are an annual and that it reseeds. - I hope so, b/c I didn't collect seed.
I just bent them over in their pots.
Robin, seed pods were beauties.
Here is another poppy I will for sure do this next season, too.

Wow, nut4spuds, I ache for poppies like yours. I hope I hope I hope my seeds come up! With our incredible warmth and no rain, I can't see how anything will sprout. My nigella has sprouted so there is hope, just not as much as if we had rain.

Poppies are drought resistant once established, some can grow under trees where it's too, too hot or sunny and most are 'deer proof' unless there's really nothing else around for them to eat on in the late fall.
Someone was very kind and thoughtful and sent me a small amount of 'Oriental Poppy' (color unknown) seeds as an 'extra' with a trade; so I'll be trying them too next summer.

Any word on our bird? We are having incredible summer weather - low 70s to 80. Hopefully it will last through next week when I'll have some time to play in the garden.
I have sent it out already - on Tue . .. so should be over there already. I do have a conf number but not right here..

The bird landed here on Wednesday and I was a bit delayed with the holiday relaunching her. I will get her out Monday morning and find lots of seeds to add in the meanwhile. Keep your eyes out, Golgi.

Sorry, ZZ.... I think the intention was to put you at the end of both lists temporarily and then to put you back into the list when you were ready.
I'm afraid the backwards robin may have crashed, as we've had no news of it since October 4 (confirmation number indicated it was delivered to Tinawind's address, but I haven't seen anything of her here for months).
Farmerpickle, please send the forward robin on to ZZTOPSOIL since it sounds like he's quite ready for it now! Then it can go from ZZ to Imzadi, and we'll be back on track.

It has been over two weeks and no word from farmerpickle. I sent it out priority mail on the 6th.
Did you get a confirmation number when you sent it? If I remember right, it was a long wait when that person got the other robin, but it went on eventually.

hello all i think i got the forward one today. still trying to figure it out but i believe i do.
okay this one will go back out after the first on the 2nd or 3rd of january. dont want to send it on during the holiday rush.
i got a small list with it. says it is supposed to fly to momcat then plantnutz then gourd the Kile Dean
the address on Kile is incomplete for street wise or road .

When it gets to Gourd, she'll have to decide if the robin is still in good enough condition to continue flying. If we do keep the robin flying, we should probably start a new thread after Gourd gets it....
Makshi, if you're asking about the backward robin, it should be just 2 or 3 people away from you, but we haven't heard anything about it since it was sent to Tinawind, so it might be stuck. :-(

Leslie, There is a round robin forum and there you can usually find one starting up or asking for members. Each has their own rules so you have to ask the host how it goes.

Has anyone tried to d-mail or e-mail tinawind lately to see if she's still got it, or maybe it got lost in the mail? I'd hate to think someone purposely hijacked it...maybe something happened to her or someone in her family...?
I snail mailed her (tinawind) 2 & 1/2 weeks ago. No returned letter, no news either.

It gets kind of scarey when that happens. People are in accidents all the time. I remember one here not too long ago when a family of three generations, Mom ,daughter and granddaughter were all killed by a guy who ran a stop sign at night. It happens so quickly. I didn't know any of them but it is so sad to hear.
I sure hope that she is all right.
