Wow, that is awesome. I am excited just thinking about all of the different things I may find.
Sounds great!

It is here, will go through it as quickly as possible. I may have to look several things up since they have the botanical names and not the common names, and I am botanically challenged! LOL but I will let you know when it is on it way in a day or so!

Dont worry I am going to have to do the same thing!

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

Someone once said that after a while they only used latin names and not the common ones. After a time it does seem you start using those names automatically.
Did anyone take my name off the reverse robin yet? I really don't need it.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I hope I get them in time... I keep trying to get them in my head!

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

kooger - you are absolutely correct. the reason the FLAT RATE box goes by th $7.70 rate is because it's by box size, not weight. According the the US Postal Service, the FLAT RATE stands, rgardless of weight. It's designed for convenience - anyone can just put the postage on and drop it off or give it to their carrier and be done with. The convenience for the post office is that THEY don't have to weigh it either - except when us sillies ask them to! (I actually took 2 home last week and repacked them ito other boxes! You will also notice that since they started with the flat rate boxes, they no longer have the smaller boxes to hand out...grrrr!)

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

you can get them online - they send them to you for free to (the smaller boxes)

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I always have tons of boxes hanging around, so it's not a problem. The problem came when they didn't have the smaller boxes on-hand so I could repack the box while I was there. Probably just as well - ya just never know what you might encounter while repacking at the post office - LOL!

Thanks for the info, though. I'm glad to know they still make them!

Still no word from Nature Walker.
The robin has been there about 2 weeks. Anyone else heard anything from NW? SEEYA, Margie

loudigger,

It will be leaving to you tomorrow.

My b/f is "A PITA" & he's taken me to the ER & such; but he's tired of my "miscellaneous" trips here & there. Time to break out the weed whacker on him! He can't even stand himself these days.

Edited to say:

PS: Neither can I!

So close! I think I am after loudigger! I may turn it around slower than I had hoped because I will be out of town next week. If it arrives before I get back, I will be a little delayed in sending it on. Not by much though!

(Our cat sitter brings in the mail each day, so don't worry about sending it to sit out in the elements...)

Sending Forward Robin to Flowernutt - Tami today. Took out a few and put in a few. Also added some empty seeds packets to make it easier for everyone to divide what they want to keep and replace some for the rest of you. It has been a lot of fun! Thanks!

Wow, I'm still 16 away from the RR...I can hardly remember getting the forward one.

;-)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I don't think I'll ever forget getting the forward one -- what a rush to open that huge box and see all those wonderful seeds to choose from!

I'm very excited for Amy -- looks like she may end up with both at once! Can you imagine?? Have fun, Amy! :-)

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

The backward birdie arrived here on Saturday, and I am taking her back to post office to send to avallidis (Amy). The bird is fat and sassy, and I put in a little surprise for you Amy. I will post confirmation Number after it is sent,. This has been great fun! I mostly took a few seeds out of some of the stuffed paks of things I have not tried. Put in some new choices. Spent the morning making lables for when these get planted. SEEYA, Margie

Momcat just posted that she'd heard from ZZtopsoil! He was in the hospital, but is on the mend and back home. Here's the link. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/530834/

Amy, maybe you could Dmail him & see if he's ready to be back in the loop for these robins!

Seattle, WA(Zone 8a)

We got home late last night, and there they were! I was so exhausted that I couldn't get very excited at the time (having been traveling for almost 24 hours at that point), but I have a jig planned for after my shower this morning! I can't wait to crack them open; I'll post pics :)

(And I'll also dmail ZZ - thanks, critter.)

Amy

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Welcome home, Amy ! Hope you had a delightful trip.

"them" ??!? Oh, I was hoping you'd find both robins waiting for you! Does anyone live close enough to rush over to Amy's with smelling salts if need be? LOL I'm sure you're having a great time sorting through all that loot! :-)

Seattle, WA(Zone 8a)

The "twins" are doing well, and I have made my first pass through both. I took pics, but all three sets of my camera batteries are now dead. I can't get any pictures off of it. DH got excited about little pumpkins before he went to work; I think he was as excited as I was to crack them open!

Thanks for the surprise, Margie! Cute, cute, cute :)

I had to take a nap and go to the grocery store, but I am going to dive back in with baggies and labels now. I should have them both back out by Saturday at the VERY latest.

I think I am out of the woods now as far as my ability to remain conscious through the process is concerned. I did redline briefly this morning, but it passed... :)

Amy

Seattle, WA(Zone 8a)

The boxes were sent on our way out of town on Friday morning (8/5); I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to post before now! The boxes were both wonderful, and I got some great veggies and some other great stuff. I put in a bunch of seeds that I decided I would never have time for, and I hope they find a good home!

The confirmation numbers are on a receipt that I can not currently locate, but I will try to post them tomorrow night.

I removed a video tape about wildflowers, which I had intended to watch and put back in. I didn't have the time, so I will post to the seeds forum after I watch it and try sending it along that way.

Thank you so much to everyone who is participating in this! It has been so much fun.

Miss fat robin was in yesterday's afternoon mail. I have just loved going through all the neat seeds. I took some out of the overloaded paks that were collected and gathered by a kind gardener, or gardeners. added some of my own collected and extra pks I hope will be usefull to someone. This has been a great opportunity to try some things that I might never have tried. I just put in a new bed, so the many varieties of marigolds will be great to fill in until some of the perennials grow to their full size. There was such a great selection, I tried not to go overboard with my dreams of getting everything planted. At least I live where I can start seeds year-round. I always have a few trays under development. Thaks to everyone who is participating, I hope this will be a blessing to each of you, as it has been to me. I will get the bird on her way to Nature Walker tomorrow. SEEYA, Margie aka Queen of Dirtland. LOL

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

So I may have it, by next week! I better start getting ready...
You turned it around quick! Thanks! (I think)

Seattle, WA(Zone 8a)

I just checked, and the other robin (tracking #0391 2170 4050 0000 5504) has been delivered to Richland Center, WI. If Flowernutt doesn't have it already, she should have it VERY shortly.

I also forgot to say that I dmailed ZZtopsoil, but I did not hear back.

Although it was fantastic to get them both at once, it sure is over fast! :(

New York & Terrell, TX(Zone 8b)

Hi everone,

The forward Twisted Robin is here; came home from the dr's office, it was on the porch in a clear plastic bag (nice postal carrier.)

Would anyone want me to put in some Shasta Crazy Daisy?

Gotta get this box back out by Monday morning; I'm getting the eyes dilated at 3 PM.

~* Robin
