It's the kind of sow bug that can fully roll up into a ball 'cause its legs aren't splayed out. http://bugguide.net/node/view/14

Yes, I was sorry to see the roly-poly as a casualty. I always thought sow bug was just too "grown-up" a term for those lil guys... lol... been fond of them ever since I was a child, and purposely turned over rocks to find and watch them. :)

A roly-poly is a good guy or gal. They eat dying vegetation and you shouldn't squish them or kill them. They don't eat nice healthy green leaves like the miserable earwigs do!

I never killed them anyway pirl, cause they reminded me of armadillos.
