Badseed,
I'm sitting on my hands being good as requested.
Ruby/Jody down for 300,correct.
Your a Peacemaker,Bless You,Jody

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I have emailed the company, let them know my intentions and asked for weights per 100 and also on shipping 3,000 to me so I have exact numbers before we proceed. I do want to be sure that shipping will not eat any savings, since they will be mailed twice. I am stocked up on flat rate boxes and we are good to go! The website says they ship within 24 hours of the order.

Rachael, since you posted above and I believe only 200 are in question, I can go ahead and add you in. :) If I comprehended everything above, we have an excess of 500 unless everyone adds on to their order. LOL I will await confirmation of listed participants before anyone else is added.

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

chele,
My 200 is fine.
But if I have caused problems, just say so and I will be glad to back out. Don't want to cause any problems with others here on DG.
Carol

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

It's all good! Thanks for the confirmation. :)

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

Badseed,
I think shipping is free to you.Jody

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Good grief I feel partly to blame for this mess. Sorry for all the hassle. Chele thanks for taking it over. If you can time it where they come next week when I come to visit I can help you pack them. I confirm my order at 200. I can add more if we need it to make the numbers.

Editing to correct my spelling. I should know better than to try to post from work.

I haven't been on this thread since this morning. Look at all I've missed. ;-)

If you need to order in multiples of 1000 and it would help, you can add another 100 for me.

Carmen

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

If we hurt anyones feelings we are sorry, just did not understand why. Daisyruffles and Rylaf we did not mean to hurt your feelings if we did. :)
Thanks Badseed for taking over and yes 300 is the number. Now back to work in the garden.
Ruby and Jody :)

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

Sorry barbur we need to add you to the alopolgy list.Jody

Port Lavaca, TX(Zone 9a)

Badseed (you don't sound like a badseed!) I can use 100 of them. If the postage would eat up the savings on 100 you can add another 100 (if you need to).

Jody and Ruby, Thanks for thinking of my feelings, there's bo need to apologize to me, I'd be fine with some or none:^)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

See, I knew we were just suffering from heat exhaustion and looking at weeds! LOL barbur, nice to meet you. Thanks for the compliment. My name is a play on words of sort. :)

I received an email back from Everlast. Prices are per 30, 100, 1,000 and a price break at 10,000. So, we are doing 1,000 x 3 which keeps them at 28 cents per marker. And yes, S/H from them to me is covered in the price. According to Melissa 500 will fit in a flat rate box and I have those. Shipping on those is $7.70. Everlast says they send 500 per box and the boxes weigh about 50 pounds. Hence, we are looking at about 10 pounds per 100 markers. I think flat rate boxes are the way to go.

To figure out your total , you need to muliply .28 times the number you ordered plus $7.70 for postage. Basically that puts you at $28.00 per 100 markers.

Let's let everyone confirm, see where we are and get them ordered. If I can get them before Mystic comes to visit me, I can put her to work packing. LOL

You will all have to pay by check as my paypal is not set up for 'busisness' or credit cards.

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

How far are you from 3,000? Just let me know whether to send money for 200 or 300.

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

Badseed,
Thought I'd better give you a heads up.
Are you ordering the 21" markers?
If so they will not fit in a 14" $7.70 flat rate box.
They have to be shipped snail mail.
Thanks,Jody

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I just got a buzz with the same message. LOL Okay, we can go back to the shorter ones or try to think of something else or another means of transport. Give me a minute or ten.

I don't think I have gotten a number from Rachael yet so numbers should still be the same.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

im happy with whatever you gals figure out! lol just let me know

Dallas, TX

Badseed ...its so nice of you to put out the cash first and handle all this for us. I hope everyone is happy now. lol ...just email me where to send the mony asap.
Mystic you gonna travel from KY to OH to help out too? You guys are winners!
Sylvia

N., CA(Zone 9a)

Badseed/'chele, I'm still in for 200 if that # works. It can be modified to accomodate everyone else involved. I just appreciate you letting me in on the purchase.
Thank you, Rachael

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

I really want the 21" ones. Could you use 2 flat rate boxes taped together for length?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Flat-Rate boxes cannot be altered, or the postage rate is void.

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

Dang!

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

Terry,
I want to apologize to you
for being such a B(&!^$&%(*%$# yesterday.
I think we had a Communication problem of some sort or we were not reading what the other meant.
Anyway Terry I want to be friends I don't want to be enemies, over some stupid garden markers.
So I'm Apologizing to you.
Terry I'm Sorry!!!!!
I hope you can accept it. :)
Thanks,Jody
PS I can't spell

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

Badseed,
I think we are going to have to re-think this order.
I think the best route to go would be dividing the orders into zones. To save on shipping I just looked up shipping from you Badseed in OH priority to Tx about $15 priority and that was only 15lbs. to Ruby.Shipping to me from you was about $8.50 Parcel post and $13 priority. You to CA. was about $36 priority
New York about $26
Ruby in TX (rose_petalzz) said she would do a 1000 but would have to have the checks/paypal sent before she placed the order. She doesn't have enough extra to cover the full 1000.She's have to put it on her debit card.
Another option would be to get the smaller markers say the 11.5 inch and send in the $7.70 boxes. What does everyone think.I'd still like to have the 21" but would settle for the smaller ones if I have to.I just need markers at a good price. :)
I don't have a credit card and my bank is a tiny bank in the middle of nowhere we don't even have debit cards.lol.
Hope we can figure something out.
Thanks,Jody
I gotta linp out now to take daylily photo's do a bit of breeding(daylilies)lol. and water.Hope everyone has a great day... and if you live where they are having heat advisories be careful today while outside gardening.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Jody, you need to stop sharing my brain cells because I assure you I do not have them to spare!! :P

We are going to have to make a decision. Shipping is included from them to me or them to you. I checked into FedEx and their rates are pretty good, even slightly less than USPS for most people. When it comes to daisyruffles and rachael bee though, you live in the furthest mailing zone any way you go. If you two do this order on the long markers, you come out less than $3 better than if you order on your own. Anything you two would save on the actual markers would get eaten on the postage side.

Basically you are looking at an 8 cent savings per marker between the 100 rate and the 1000 rate. Barbur, I don't have your zip code, but since you are only ordering 100, your price through a split or on your own, will be about the same.

Besides pins, does anyone have their heart set on the long ones? I'd hate for anyone to get left out but if we do the long ones, two people will not see a savings and if we do the shorter ones, people wanting long ones are left out. What to do?

If we go back to the shorter ones (exactly the same but shorter), we can continue with the plan and use the flat rate boxes. Personally I do not care either way as the other 300 I bought are the shorter ones.

At this point, we need to make a decision.

N., CA(Zone 9a)

Well since I wouldnt be saving much on the long ones, I would want to get the short ones. If you do decide to get long ones, I probably would not partake. Either way the group votes is ok with me.

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

I really don't want the short ones, so I'll just order on my own. No problem.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I need to hear from everyone. Are short ones okay and are you still in for the same amount?

I really am sorry Carmen. Is there anyone closer to you that could split and make it more worthwhile? FedEx from me to you would have only been $7.18 so if you can find people close to you in mailing zone, it would still be worth it. You would just have to find boxes. Mystic and I had talked about cutting down the cartons the USPS triangle tubes are shipped in.

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

I may be going in with mgh here in Oregon for an order.
We are looking into it right now, today.
So will let you know hopefully by the end of the day (or tomorrow for me, since I am travelling from WA back to Oregon very late tonight).
I am interested in the shorter ones too, due to the cost.
Carol

Dallas, TX

I'm heading to Hobby Lobby to see what I can see. Somebody mentioned they carry a permanent marker that is less prone to fading than Sharpies.

TERRY... let me know what marker that would be...please. That mechanical pen...do it write in the metal?

Sylvia

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

A local friend has a store that carries garden markers AND pens. I'm going to get one today and see how they last...

Someone told me that Sharpie makes a pen that lasts, but under a different name... which unfortunately I have forgotten.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Okay, the shorter ones are good for me; is the F--cap style ??? I want 150 sent to me. Jody is emailing also for her 150. So they would be shipped in a flat rate box --right for $7.70 each for our two seperate addys. Let us know, and we are in! Thanks!
Ruby

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

I'd like 100 short ones.So the total would be about $27,right?
What style are you getting?I'll order 100 tall ones later on my own.If that's okay with you if I just get 100 :)
Jody

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Badseed, the shorter ones are fine with me.

Re: pens...no trips to Hobby Lobby until I get back, but if I find what it is I'm racking my brain to think of, I'll post it back here ;o)

Dallas, TX

hmmmm...very confused now...if need be I can do with a 100, But I want the TALL ones.
Sylvia

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Hope I did not confuse anyone, just accept what Jody said in her email, she only wants 100. But I want 150 please of the short ones. Thanks,
Ruby

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

If I need to get the other 50 to make an even 300,I will :)Jody

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

Sharpie makes a pen which is called Industrial Sharpie.
We use these at work for tags out in the field for grass plants. They work ok. Nothing special.
I have heard that Garden Marker is the best. If we could find a supplier for these at a good rate, that would be good. They cost around $3.95 each which I think is a lot for a pen.
Carol

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

fine for me~

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Okay, here is what I am going to do. I just got home from the grocery and my make up is sliding to my chest. LOL Did I mention it is hot?? Now I am gulping a drink which just gave me brain freeze! I am going to run out, feed my grass, take a dip then come back and regroup. I will start a new thread with numbers on it of who wants what. I'll post a link on this thread. I think this one has gotten a bit out of control with lots of contradictory info. Someone NOT participating even wrote and told me it was getting hard to follow. :) Thanks YOU. LOL In the meantime, feel free to post here if you still want in on the short markers or if you want to bail. No one is going to hurt my feelings and maybe another person can do a split on the long ones. Later taters.

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

I'd like to be in on the short ones. I'll take 100 or 200 what ever rounds out the order for you. I'm flexible...

Port Lavaca, TX(Zone 9a)

I would rather have the long ones and since it would be about the same after the postage is added to mine I'll bow out. Thanks for all the effort.
