The first bed!!
Sis - can't wait to find out what sort of plant your dh is talking about. We have been cheating a bit!! Brought in a local guy to dig out the clay from the front beds and replace with amended soil and manure. He then went on vacation after he did the first bed (left of house) and only showed up again 2 days ago. He was going great guns and I thought surely now we would be able to plant those little gems of mine which are surely suffering now in their pots. Well, he had an emergency and the tractor is still standing on my front lawn and the earth piled up high. We have not had rain in so long now and I believe it's coming on Tuesday. Now do I really want a tractor leaving ruts after the rain?? I think not! Will keep you posted.
Hi Louisa,
Lets hope we get rain tomorrow. Even with watering my place is pretty parched.

Everywhere is parched Sally. Rain on Wednesday I think - probably a storm. Planted Tim's passifloras and pyracantha on the trellis enclosure around the a/cs today. The second bed is ready for planting but have errands to run tomorrow which is a pity. The plants would haved loved the rain.
Hi Louisa, did ya get some rain?? We had a small one just go through, not much to brag about, but something we did need'
I wouldn't be thrilled having ruts either, when is he coming back to finish?? Soon,I hope' DH just called, from El Paso, and will be in,in the wee hrs. Hope he got a pic of the plant in Phoenix' Can't post though, having fits with our server, gonna get some answers or credit this morning, our customers are having fits too' Always something, isn't it,right??? See ya,Sis''
Can't wait for your DH to get back Sis - waiting with bated breath for the surprise :-) The bed was finally finished and would have planted yesterday but had errands to run and see the doc. Now the rains have come - halleluja!! So will wait a couple of days and should be able to start planting end of the week. Bought a lovely evergreen - Ilex cassine is the red berried one - mine has yellow berries. I know it's hardy to zone 8 and we are 7 but am giving it a protected site and hope it will survive. It was too lovely to pass up. So now today it's housework ugh!!
