New Morning Glory 2005

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Oh,Emma,the pink is fantastic.
Moonlighting, could your mix be "Sunrise Mix",one that Burpee offered several years ago? There were such stunning flowers from that mix posted last year I bought some from e-bay. I haven't any blooms yet,but the leaves are all variegated-mostly "cicada" leaf,so I'm hoping for some good ones.AND I had excellent germination..almost all the seeds from that mix sprouted.
By the way, where oh where is budgielover-she was posting some beautiful pictures of her morning glories, and we have'nt seen her for awhile.Come back!

Got my first Fujishibori bloom today.
These are from my seeds from last year.
It wasn't that photogenic,
but at least you can see the colors and pattern of the bloom

Oh My Gosh, I planted Fujishibouri Wisteria tye dye seed I got from Japan in a co-op this past spring. I just wanted an extra so I would have a back up in case something happened to my other vine. Well it bloomed today, and I don't know if I should rejoice or cry..............
I do like it and it is a bit different but Fujishibouri it AIN'T............what do yall think of it.

Dee that Blue is Amazing. Gotta be a Stray???
Don't let that one get away!
Maybe one of us can help you figure out what it is.
[If not a Cross]
And what a magnificent photo of my Chocolate Silk.
Just set it as Wallpaper on my Computer.
Have you done this?
I must change mine more than one time a day.
But this one looks Awesome as wallpaper

I love the energy you all have for this group of plants...it's very contagious. Thanks for all the photos!

Gail That Is Just Awsome................OMG.........I didn't even plant any this year.........If my foot could reach I would kick myself..........tag that one and keep the seed seperated it might be some thing special. Man oh Man I like that one........I had the JC planted across from a Mt Fuji Deep Blue last year...........sooooo maybe it crossed but I would have expected something different than that.
Is the flower about the size of a regular JC, is is about 3 inches across??

Emma feel free to use the photo of "Your" Chocolate Silk. I think it is one of the prettiest I have this year. It is just sooo perfect.

This blue that appeared in the FujiShibouri is a mistery, I don't have a clue where it came from. I will have to see it there are more blooms like this on the vine. There is another vine in with this one but it has not bloomed yet so that will be intresting to see if it is the same. I agree it is worth keeping and I will save seed if I get some and see what happens next. This flower is not large maybe about 4 inches across and it is a very very clear blue. The throat is a purpleish to lavender and then white to yellow. It is very nice..........

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

All these pictures are wonderful. Everytime I see a new one, I think "this one is my favorite." Then here comes another picture, and I think "no this one is my favorite." LOL

Pam, I also purchased 2 packs of the Akathukinoumi on Ebay. I hope mine aren't from the same Seller, because I really, really, really want the one like WW's.

minigrannie,I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.Out of twelve seeds,I believe only one germinated for me.I hope it sets seed so I can trade them! Dee,I'm goin' out with the ruler now....

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Ok,Dee,it's about 2 1/2 inches wide, but it's the first bloom so they may be bigger later.Isn't it pretty?Your "Fujishibouri" mistake is too gorgeous. Another shade of blue! Just when you're sure you've seen every hue of blue another one comes along to leave you gasping.

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

And this morning, This is another one from "EmmaGrace" and it is in my Plum Frost. This one is just awsome, as soon as I found it I tagged it and taped it shut. Hope I got to it before any bees...LOL

Now that I know what it is I will edit this and put a name with it...........
according to Emmas Post below.....I'll have to find out if she has a name for it.....LOL...
Your "Lavender Picotee Plum Frost" Cross is GORGEOUS....

"BENIGASURI"...not quite what I expected. A bit smaller and not as streaked as I thought it would be but this is a first bloom. I sure hope it gets better.

Holy Cow, Dee.....
Your Lavender Picotee Plum Frost Cross is GORGEOUS....
BUT, the second photo is UNBELIEVABLE.
The PF 'Dark Blue with Darker Star Frost' with Fuchsia Halo at Throat Cross.

This bloom is the 'closest' I've seen yet to the Plum Frost Markings.
Go back and look at the 'Real' Plum Frost and you will see.

You definitely need to tag this one and WATCH IT.
I hope this entire vine blooms like this.

Post more photos of this one when it blooms again. K?
I am REALLY EXCITED about this bloom.

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Here is 'another' Plum Frost Cross from this morning
a Very Pale Lilac Tie Dye.

K-Thud.........OMG..............that is just beautiful...............
I hope I have some like that too.
Emma do you have a name for these??? that one looks like it could be
a "Lavender Pearl" to me
You need to come up with one because these are unique and we
Need a way to keep them seperate and someway to tagg them.
Even if you just give them a number until we know how they will
do next year.....
Let me know.

minigrannie, just LOVE your Blue SunSmile.
Maybe I'll get one in some of my MIX that I planted.

Dee, I like that name 'Lavender Pearl'.
I'm not even going to 'go there' yet with trying to name these Crosses - too many.
Unless something just jumps out there that sounds right.
I DO have a numbering system.
I've got to finish numbering the others that I've planted,
but I do have all of my Plum Frost Vines numbered.
The Very Pale Lilac Tie Dye is #022.
Actually I had TWO blooming this morning,
the other one is #004
Sooooo maybe you will get one of these.

OMG............luvsgartdanes I love that one. I hope you get some seed I would love to trade for that one. Is the Candystipe Purple the real name or one you made up?? I am asking because I have never heard of it before. If it is the actual name then we need to get it in the DataBase. I like it.....

Dee

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

DonnaS, Milky Way is like the one I have posted here, it is the white with the Blue Spikes, the blue one is "Blue Denim". . Some have Blue, or Purple spikes and some have Pink. But your flower is a "Flying Saucer" and a very nice one to.....

DonnaS
Your Bloom looks like Flying Saucers Ipomoea tricolor.
Beautiful Bloom!
I'm growing these this year for the first time.

Ronnie, the Joyce Cobb seeds that I sent you
came to me from Larry Smith who hybridized this one.
I'm also growing it this year --- no blooms yet.
and OMG, your Candystripe Purple is so glorious.
Heck yes, give it a try and plant those babies NOW.
