Star Wars, Episode III

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

SpOiLeRs! Didn't see it? Don't read on.

We saw Episode III last night, late show. It was pretty good, epsecially showing Anakin's struggle as he's drawn to the dark side by both its power and his belief that it can save Padme.

I know fans are going to shoot me for this, but I thought a lot of the scenes with Emperor after his disfigurement were kind of cheesy. But I know overkill is all part of the package - it's a BIG story with larger-than-life villians and heroes.

Question: Why in such a technologically-advanced world would their holographic transmissions be SO poor? I mean, c'mon, they make sentient droids!

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

LOL I said the same to the DH and got glared at. I also picked on the dialog. No, Anakin I have the high ground. I was laughin, again I got glared at. When it comes to his movies the DH has no sense of humor.

Gardenwife and araness:
I sense a disturbance in the Force (which would also explain the quality of the holographic transmissions)...The two of you must be very careful that you do not take the path that leads to the dark side....Now repeat after me: Star Wars is all good, all the time. I love Star Wars, and my life would not be complete without it. The world would be less exciting without Star Wars and the Expanded Universe. LOL

aaargh...(clutching head)...but...it is....wrong
...to...accept...goofy technical glitches...and...
wanton silliness...in theatrical....*gasp*...blockbusters...

Quoting:
No, Anakin I have the high ground.

I laughed, too! I had a couple of giggle fits concerning the Emperor, and Howie got mad at me. LOL

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

Hmmm! Howie and DH of araness:
Quickly talk we must! Going fast to the dark side they are!

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

I thought the same thing as GW during the movie about the bad acting. However my beef is people who talk and bring this up during the movie. I won’t say who but their initials are GW. I can over look these things and stay focused on the movie. I like to be emerged in the experience but it's kind of hard to do when you have someone laughing and nudging you. Again initials of GW.

Maybe it is a plot from the dark side.

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

LOL see this is the reason I don't let my DH have an account.

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

I'm with you Howie!!! Me and the gang discussed the movie and some possible discrepancies/plot twists after it ended. If a certain person with the initials GW should happen to read this, Forbidden from laughing and nudging during Star Wars are you! LOL (Hey GW, do you like my Yoda impression?)

araness:
Let me use the Force (my Jedi mind trick) on you. Dave's Garden is good. Your DH would enjoy it here. You think it's a great idea to sign him up today! You want him to read this thread... :-)

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

*G* I've emailed him the thread, but nope he doesn't need to play here. Besides he's very anti-gardening (and his first degree is Ag engineering!!!) His Mom is a MG and he said he got enough of it growing up.

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

Speaking of anti-gardening, my boyfriend has no use for plants and gets a pained look whenever I mention them. I asked him if he was free on Saturday morning to take me on a little off road drive. He said, "yes" and wanted to know where we were going. When I told him, "Zone Ten Nursery", he scowled and grimaced so much that I pulled out my light saber because I thought he was turning into the Emperor! http://www.zoneten.com/

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

*G* I know DH has a Friday and Monday off so a long weekend and he's already told me he's not doing any work stuff (his words not mine) His eyes glaze over if I even mention a veggie at this stage.

We went last night! Took our 6 year old. When she was born at 6 am on the 18th 6 years ago Episode one came out and I left my mother in law to my bed at the hospital and ditched with some buddies and went at 1:30 am. This time.... 6 years later we had her birthday and Mommy and I went to the movie that night to preview it. She is fine with it as long as I tell her what is going to happen first.

Drew

P.S. The whole Darth Vader vs. Obi Won fight in Episode 4 really fits well now eh... Especially with the put the light saber away and get yerself cut in half bit.... Isnt it also interesting that Eposode 1 was exactly 6 years before Episode 3? I wonder what the other release dates were? Anyone know?

Hi Drew:

The original movies and the prequels were released three years apart. The actual release dates were:

Since I am a closet Star Wars fan, I haven't seen the first three yet. But I have the original
three that are watched to death. Every so often I must have a Star Wars "fix". This might
come as a shock to DD Melody. When my kids were small I didn't go to movies much, so
really enjoy reviewing the movies they talked about in their early years.. May the Force be
with you all! Yo-Yo1

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

May the Force be with you Yo-Yo1! I'm hoping that a box set of the prequels will be available before this year is over. Then we can all have a Star Wars holiday marathon.

Hi GW:
Thank you for the link. I was watching Store Wars when I was disturbed by a combination of salmon, pistachioes, and strawberry yogurt from the Dark Side. I'm feeling better now so I will begin watching the movie again. :-)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

YoYo1, had no idea you were a fan! They are great movies. :)

(Delecie, just tell me they weren't all mixed together and I'll be okay).
