Texasgarden,
Great drip system. I have been using drip in my rosegarden for about 4 years and love it. I know exactly how much water they get. Have close to 100 roses and they are getting big now so I am looking to expand the drip system from one emitter at base to a string of connected inline emitters intstalled at the dripline. Could use inline emitter tubing but the preset spacing causes some problems. I have a question for you. I am converting a shade bed under some very old dogwoods, they are about 30 ft high, and want to insure they get enough water. I wonder if you have run into anything along those lines. Or do you know anyone with that info. Your system is really fabulous and I know you will love it. I must have about 150 emitters out in my roses and maybe replace 1 a year. Use primarily pressure compensating. I come off of both half inch tubing snaked through the beds and also some of those multiple heads that you can put the quarter inch tubing to. My main suff is pvc underground as the landscapers but in 2 valveboxes and lots of pvc and heavy funny pipe off of it sticking up in the air when they did the basic structure for the rose garden. Good luck with you garden. Your plants will love you, especially the flowers.

My new drip system
I am very impressed. You have given me the courage to maybe try it myself.
In the picture showing the 1/2" tubing connected to the faucet, I really can't see how that was done. Would you mind explaining that for me.
Everything else is very understandable and extremely helpful.

Wow Collierose! I think your system is more complex than mine! 100 roses? Wow! I have mature shade trees and some other mature ornamentals. Other than the one weeping bald cypress, I pretty much rely on my lawn sprinklers and drip system (spray attachments so the whole area gets wet) to water my trees. I have seen those "ring" type attachments that you put around the drip line of the trees and just hook them up like a regular emitter. You could try that maybe? I just go up and down that drip irrigation row at Home Depot and look at the different attachments- I'm no expert! :)
Adeline- that picture really doesn't show the hook up does it? If you go to that one row at Home Depot you will see lots and lots of emitters, fittings and attachments. On each box it tells you what they are for. The box that said "use for hooking up a 1/2 hose to the water faucet" or something like that is what I dug in. It's just a piece of plastic really. One end hooks to your faucet just like your water hose, then you stick the 1/2 hose in the other end. Does that make sense?
Jamie
Jamie,
It sounds like it makes sense, but I am so tired right now, I will have to find a time that I am not so tired to absorb the info.
Can you tell I had a very, very hard day at work?
Thanks for you reply. I truly appreciate it and will visit it another time.
Adeline
