I went out this morning (shopping for plants w/ 3 small children is an experience) and got the rest of the perennials I needed. Between last night and early this afternoon, I got everything in...

I was expecting the mail order stuff to be tiny, but wow! They were itsy bitsy teeny!! After I got them all planted, though, I felt better about their size.

The birdfeeder bed is going to be fun :) Butterfly bush, chrysanthemum pacificum, Joe Pye weed, 3 liatris, and I'll add Black Eyed Susans after the RU this weekend :)

Your beds really look nice. Now if the weeds forget to come up you got it made.
I had real good luck with things I planted last year coming back. We had no snow cover & I hadn't mulched anything, go figure.

Huga .. everything looks to be comin' along rather nicely !! .. Know you're pleased with such super progress on all of the beds .. and the plants arrival and purchase of others: is just topping things off!

Those in the bed are lookin' mitey dandy !! .. Sounds (and looks) like an ideal selection of plants too!

Ahh, those kiddos had to have been of some comfort to ya. But, yep, quite an experience, indeed! Wonderful .. for including them: whether you had any choice in the matter or not! (*huggerooners to ya*) Plus, you're makin' memories ... Besides, I always found that I'd ask my small children their opinions about such stuffs .. and they'd be most willing to supply their lil input the best way they could! Of course, I'd want fer a few more hands to hold onto them (ha!) .. Now-a-days: it's the grand yunkins I confer with .. (*hee*)

I'll sure nuff .. keep on checkin' in .. for even more wonderful updates (and fantastic photos) of your progress.

Both you and the hubby .. have gotta be jes some kindly pleased with, and proud of .. yourselves!!

Also .. sure nuff appreciate your continueing to share your project, progress and excitement .. with the rest of us!

Thank you, Mags :) LOL -- you're right, the girls do really love to share in the plants. They know more latin names now than I did when I was 25!!! :)

We were a sight today, though :) Joy was in the sling, SG was in the cart, and Hannah was walking, running, galloping beside. Poor Hannah bit the dust about 10 minutes into our visit, though, and got some good scuffed up knees. Poor thing! :( Wow, though, that girl's cry can really pack a wallop! She got under control relatively quickly, though, and the sales lady gave her and SG each 2 cookies before we left ;) After her little accident, she was riding in the bottom part of the cart with all the plants! So there was a baby strapped to me and two preschoolers stuck in amongst all the greenery in my cart!!! LOL... oh dear.

All in all a nice visit. Then the girls ate picnic lunches on a blankie out front while I planted like I was racing somebody!! LOL :) They were particularly interested in the creeping phlox... both because it was lavendar and because it was the only thing with flowers :) Thanks, again, for the sweet comments!

Take care,

Jacci,
Your enthusiasm has been so uplifting and I have really enjoyed watching your progress! Would love to have seen a picture of the four of you in the garden center yesterday -- I'm sure that would have been a great shot. :-)
Looking forward to seeing more pictures as your gardens begin to bloom!

Jacci - I have a tough time with just one wee one along!! You sure got the energy that's for sure.

The beds look nice and although they're tiny they big big n' purdy next year!

Huga! Wow!
I've been away way too long and had a lot to catch up on here, but boy was it fun to see!

Whoa! You Go Grrrl...

You've sure got style and great taste. ;o) Gorgeous work you've done and what a great husband you have!
I'm fascinated to see what's to come! I hope the weather has been holding out for y'all so you could get a lot more done. I'll be thinkin' of you this weekend while I get more goodies in the ground myself.

Congrats! Woo Hoo!!!

So, how's it going? Any updates? :D

Springboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, I was just reviewing everything we've posted on this thread and the one before. Did we really do ALL of that since the beginning of April??? Are we INSANE???? LOL! :)

It's pitch black outside right now or else I'd run out and get some "update" photos for ya'll. Tomorrow :) I just planted my annuals today and those beds are filled to the brim. I could barely add anything else even if I wanted to :) The mulch is coming at the beginning of the week next week and then it's just maitenance until fall. The trees/shrubs I mentioned in an earlier post didn't happen. I spent more on perennials and annuals than we had planned and the mulch will add extra expense, so the trees and shrubs will have to wait until fall.

I can't leave my front yard alone, though :) I keep coming up with more places where the grass has got to go! LOL... my husband must be the most understanding man on the planet :) My neighbor tore out some of her shrubs from the builder the other day and was going to throw them away! Ack!! Granted, the were junipers (not exciting) BUT they were chartreuse. So, guess what? Yup, I grabbed em :) But I didn't have anyplace for them, so I had to take up more sod :) My mailbox bed got an expansion project and they look very nice there. Score :)

I'll have to post some photos for ya'll here soon. Hopefully, I'll get some tomorrow. The plants are still pretty little, but the annuals helped fill things out a bit more. I keep telling myself "Sleep, Creep, Leap".... it all takes time :)

Can't wait to see more pictures!

Sorry they didn't come today :( Severe T-storms today and not the best time to get out there for pics. Soon, though, soon.....

Huga ;)

Nice rain for my annuals, though!

Huga's just sitting, waiting for the sun to show her pretty little face... icky day for pics.

Springboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Okay :) Here are some shots I got today of the "progress" :) Believe it or not, the plants really are much larger than they were at planting, well some of them are anyway :) Those ferns, BTW, will be hanging up sometime soon ;)
