My first VooDoo bloom

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Hahah I believe that.

My first encounter was a bunch of about a dozen little stinkers.

I couldn't wait to take the pic to my local garden center.

Just to be laughed at 'cause I thought it was some kind of ALIEN the way they would appear and disappers over night ..... lol

You want to talk about STINK!!!! I dug up my bulb to see if it survived the winter, the big bulb was rotten,it made the bloom smell like a rose!!
I think I my have a baby off it,so I may be able to leave them in here.

Oh no, that's too bad. I don't know what mine is doing right now. It has been planted for a while, but it did get cold. I hope it still lives.

You should be fine, mine was in the ground all winter,it is odd how they send off shoots, very thick tubers.

I hope your baby makes it. If not and if mine grows, I'll have tubers this fall to share.

Well, have a large one that did great last year, don't recall any bloom, but beautiful leaves. I took it up in the fall and it started to sprout in the house a couple of months ago. I then potted it up and set it in the GH til it got warmer - that sprout grew about 3 inches and seems to have just stopped. How long should it take to shoot up a leaf?? It has been outside now in that pot for at least a month. I even fed it some MG - Still looks the same.

Mine did that last year too. Took a long time, but when it got nice and warm, it shot up like inches a day, it seemed.

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

my mother bulb overwintered very well here in the ground.
