There are so many of us that have passions for orchids, cacti, etc,. But I bet if you checked their entire yard, they have a coleus or two.
Let's all join forces. Sign up here...

COLEUS FORUM.....SIGN UP HERE DAVE'S WATCHING
I'd love to have a forum for coleus, but there is already a forum for foliage plants.
http://davesgarden.com/forums/f/foliage/
But this one would be special....There's one for just Roses..so why not us?
Thanks for the vote....
Nancy Lee
It's a good idea Nancy Lee...but I wonder if Dave will think it's really necessary. One thing about it...a forum specifically for Coleus would help me remember WHERE I put out "Addicts" thread!
LOL
~julie~
Julie, that's what I thought....I love that thread and watch it.
Nancy Lee
Since I am a coleus addic I think it would be great. That way it would not be in the annuals forum.
I'd love a coleus forum!
i think Coleus could have enough support for it's own forum from spring till first frost
then it seems everybody goes quiet, it would need some winter support also
Dick
edited to say
Julie i wondered where you all had disappeared to ?
i've been monitering the foliage forum for Coleus
this is the disadvantage of having only selected forums on your home page

Dick...I don't think you've met our "addicts" group. LOL If it hadn't been that pictures were beginning to take to long to download, our threads would have been huge, even through this winter. (We're growing them year round)
~julie~
I love coleus ... have orders coming from 3 different places so far. Can't wait till they show up around here .... let alone when I go traveling.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I want some coleus right now. I will have an even bigger bed for them this year, under tree roses. I am getting so excited.
Where did you order from Deb??
I would love to be able to look at all the coleus pictures Julie. Look and lust. What I do best.
I would love a coleus forum. I just went to my favorite nursery today, to see if they had gotten any in yet.
Dee
Well Guy, it looks as we are on our way.
SEE DAVE!!!!
I hope he sees this and gives us a break. We're real people too!
Right Gang?
Nancy Lee
I ordered from ... (had not ordered from them before)
http://www.hilltop-gardens.com/coleus.html (Sounds really nice ... aims to please)
http://search.whiteflowerfarm.com/cgi-local/search.pl?text=coleus&dosearch.x=12&dosearch.y=12
I would enjoy a coleus forum also. I just started some seeds yesterday hoping for lots of color this summer.
Joy
This is looking really good Nancy Lee! I don't whether any of y'all are paying close attention to the garden mags and TV shows, but if you look closely you'll see that Coleus are really getting to be quite the *in* "accessory". I think I'm building my entire garden wardrobe based on them. LOL
~julie~
Here is where I ordered from last year. They sent nice starts. A little pricey, but they sure were packed well.
http://www.rosydawngardens.com/
I vote yes, I'm interested.
Paul
Brugie...when you say "Nice starts" how large are they? And did they transplant well and stay alive for you through the season? (I know there's no guarantee on the last question...that's up to me. LOL)
~julie~
Why stop with your garden wardrobe, Julie?
I think I'll get a summer dress to match my coleus. (LOL)
I would Love to have a Coleus Forum! I have them most of the year. I love all the different colors. Please Dave!!! I have to keep mine under the porch. As the sun get to hot for them here. :)))))))
binky!!! That's *not* nice! :))))))
Hmmmm...a summer dress to match....I wonder which one I'd chose to duplicate? (Maybe just a new embroidery design for my garden shirt...yea. That would work! Now I wonder *when* I'd find the time to digitize and sew it out. hehehe)
The more I think about it...the more a new forum sounds like a necessity. LOL
~julie~
Okey Dokey, Ya'll know I'm already a basket case, lol. I'll participate if we get a coleus forum.
Gooooooooo, Sugarweed!!!!
Well...I guess you guys should know...that link that Brugie gave us put me in the "mood" for more buying. hehehe (And would you believe that I was just downstairs checking on my seedlings! Gee...I can't figure out why several hundred plants just *aren't* enough. hehehe )
~julie~
Julie, the starts were all big enough that the day I received them I took at least one cutting from all of them but one. I think what I like about this site more than anything is that I can get different coleus and I'm willing to pay the price for that. I should have ordered sooner so I could have shared with people who like them, but mine won't be shipped until April 11.
Thanks Brugie...that's exactly what I wanted to know. I'm more than willing to pay a decent price for a quality plant...and it's even nicer if I'm going to get something I can work with to get more.
Maybe you'd like to join our little "Addicts" thread. We do a lot of sharing throughout the season. (We're in the Annuals forum...and pretty close to the top of the thread listing right now. :-D)
~julie~
Thanks Julie. I'll try to get over there real soon. Right now I have to get to the greenhouse. I was headed there an hour ago and I'm still sitting in front of this computer.
Julie,,,Julie....
Start pushing our new "COLEUS FORUM".......
Brugie....if not....we be here!
Nancy Lee
I thought that was *your* job N.L. hehehe (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
I'll mention it in the threads I'm frequenting, ok? I just hope Dave thinks we're serious and that we aren't just wasting his time. I'd *love* to have a spot where we could post individual threads and not have to keep all our pictures in one *long* one.
I'll pop in a bit later...to see how you're doing of course. :-D
~julie~
Glennis is beautiful!! I think it's time for a coleus forum. I just received an email from rosy dawn gardens that my coleus will be shipped May 1st, can't wait to get them. I will have lots of coleus to share when the weather warms up. My last batch of cuttings that I put on the heat mat a week ago already rooted. There really starting to look nice, I gave them a spritz of messenger right after I planted the cuttings, before they rooted and they look beautiful.
Cathy
Glennis is one I ordered- I'm really glad I did. Nice photo!
(Edited to add: there is no photo of Glennis in the PF)

This photo of Glennis is in the queue for the PlantFiles, but it is about #48 in my submitted images so it will be awhile before it appears.
Oh, Good. It's such a beautiful photo.
Julie....how did I get the job? I thought you were are leader?
Nancy Lee! You're TOO funny! It wasn't *me* who started this forum thingy...but I'm mighty GLAD you *did*. LOL
Oh...I think I'm going on a trip...to whereever you guys live so I can steal your goodies when you're not looking. hehehe
~julie~
Last year our Lowe's and Home Depot had gorgeous coleus for like $4.00 around here. Every week they would get a new order in and they were always new. Really nice ones ... I can hardly wait until plants start showing up around here. I am so ready!!
Ok, Julie......I love being Queen anyway..............
Now here's what you have to do......................................................
