I posted this in another forum, but no one has gotten back to me about it, so I thought I'd try here. I have several herb plants on my windowsill that were recently attacked by spidermites. I think I have it under control, but now my sage is looking wierd. It is getting gray spots on the leaves, curling up, and falling off. I've also noticed some black streaks on the stem. I'm wondering if it's some kind of mold or bacterial infection? Or could it still be from the mites?
Here's a picture:
Thanks,
Mara
what is doing this?
Looks like a die back possibly from the previous spider mite attack. The plant cells that were damaged have discoloured and the leaf is dying.
It may also be too warm where it is.
It looks to me to be overwatered. Let dry completely between waterings and it does tolerate cooler temps. MHO

Thanks,
I'll cut back on watering. It's not really in the warmest place...
I've never had a plant do that before, so I'm glad to hear some suggestions.

There is also a black mold thing that follows after infestations.
That's what it looks like it might be to me ... does it go away or do I need to give up on it?

Black sooty mold...
caused by the secreations (read...pee) of the aphids, et al.
not deadly, just icky
wash it off and life will move on :)
