Weezin???
TP?
Happy BD, Annie! OK, here is the TP story.... when I got that box packed, I suddenly realized that Kim was probably going to need some TP when she saw the box! ... Thus the picture.
ROTFLMAO
HAHAHAHA!! Good grief you make me laugh!!
Hope you haven't shorted out your keyboard, NC!
Don't worry it's the work one anyway! LOL!!!!!
Lucky break! LOL!
ha! cute pic weezin!
I've got a 12 gallon tote full of seeds, and before I sent the seeds to Kim, I was going to need another 12 gallon tote. I couldn't plant all those seeds I kept planting non stop for years! Now I can fit most all the seeds in the one tote. I feel better! Of course, now Kim's got to deal with them!
Hey, when you have dial up at home you'll avoid using your computer at any cost! But I'm getting roadrunner Saturday so watch out!!!
What's roadrunner?
I have some green "stuff" showing up on my started seeds, guess its mold. What do I do? Is this panic time?
spray with 1 part hydrogen peroxide mixed with 20 parts water. That knocks off some of my moss/mold.
Roadrunner is southern for high speed cable.
Ohhhh! Yes, cable modem will make NC dangerous!
I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch out ladies and gents I am high speedin it all over the place!!!!!
I'm kinda surprised my old computer can keep up! LOL!!!!
Yes, sometimes upgrading to an old computer is like buying provocative lingerie for your 50th wedding anniversary... good fabric, lovely color, but better in the package.
ROTF!!!
Hee hee hee! My computer wasn't this fast when I bought the thing!
Get - Adaware - (www.tucows.con) or another good spyware program or you will soon be running at dial-up speed again - please - Dyson
Don't worry already covererd!
Thank you
Boy, did I miss a bunch. I thought everyone was just busy like me. Ya hadta go ahead and start a new one without me knowing....LOL

Weezin... whats in this pot by the bellflowers?
http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/3290/
Yeah, what is that?
Well for a little run down on seed snatching
Just didn't have the $ to run down to Okeechobee this weekend for the first central and south Florida Plant Swap.
Instead went over to Jax Fla Gardeners. I took him a Brug cutting, a copper plant cutting, some small coleus cuttings, several seeds.
I brought home rush, dusty miller, and then seeds for moon flower, & cypress vines. And a variety of other miscellaneous seeds. Just walked around his half acre snatching this and that.
He's a Georgia O'keefe style artist and does 40" x 60" paintings of roses, etc. Really gifted!
He lives 8 blocks from me.
Being Flutterby crazy, I bought a pkg of Butterfly weed seed. Put em in a melita coffee filter, sprayed with H2O2 and put it in a zip bag in the refrigerator on Jan.10th.
Three days ago , I sprayed the filter really good again and set the sealed, inflated bag in semi-bright light.
This afternoon, all but 8 seeds had a tail and went into seed flat or the ground.
And that folks is what I call chitting, lol

Kathy, I think that's lobelia. This pot was at Wilma Lind's house, so I don't recall. Wilma has been gardening in Alaska for longer than I've been alive, and she's still gardening though she's in her late 80's.
Good work, Sugarweed!
Wilma Lind is an inspiration, please tell her I said so.
I love Lobelia Weez! I first saw it in AK and fell in love immediately! I love that it's easy to grow too. Course it doesn't make it to fall for me but I do get a good Lobelia 'fix' before the heat here snuffs it out. I've been growing it out of the SAME pack of seeds probably 6 years now. :)
Thanks.. was out there on the plant files trying to figure out where I'm gonna put what and where and came upon that pretty little picture and loved the little whispy flower addition. I have some lobelia seed, however I heard it won't do good in my area because of the heat. That won't stop me from trying it!

Kathy, I think NC has the secret to growing it in hotter climates. Get it early and figure on letting something else in the pot or basket take over when the heat gets to the lobelia. Here it grows all summer long. It is one of the first types of seed I start in the spring. I start it in January to get it to bloom in June or early July. I think this is 'Sapphire'.
Oh wow, thats beautiful, so vibrant the colors are. I'm not sure which variety my lobelia are, I just know they are a mix. I would be satified to see some flowers before it gets hot, when they are that pretty. Alot of flowers I love do have a short bloom season, perhaps thats why I admire them so much, because I never see them long enough to grow tired of them.
I planted some heather last fall. Its not looking good. I'm not sure what its suppose to look like in the winter, but these look pretty D-E-A-D. I hope not, I do love heather and I really don't see alot of people planting it.
My seeding is going pretty good... have lots and lots going. I have peonies in pots by the sliding glass doors. In trays I have, basils, rosemary, dill, chives, sage, thyme, forget me nots, bellflowers, cannas, snow in the summer, black eyed susan vine, rocket larkspur, scotch marigolds, pansy's ( LOTS of PANSYS) hollyhocks and I know I'm forgetting alot. I've winter sown foxglove, canterbury bells, black eyed susans, (different varieties), phlox, russian sage, sweet william, dianthus. The two I'm having difficulty with is salvia and chamomile. Can't seem to get it to go for some reason. This weekend I will start some petunias and lots others. :)
You know what Carol? I wasn't even going to DO Lobelia this year but now I might just have to! LOL.... Got to go dig around and find that pack now darn you!
:)
Hey Kathy, I pair mine with Coleus - one is getting big as the other is going poof!
Careful NC, you may have to go buy more lights LOL
That's a great idea, NC. Here nothing much dies back in the summer but the spring bulb plants like jonquil and tulips. Everything else seems to stay green all summer, whether it's blooming or not. One word of caution, lobelia are typically slow growers, so you may have to buy some if yours doesn't get to size early enough. I believe this lobelia is Riviera... not sure.
For goodness sakes!!!!! Boy you miss a lot by missing the bus!!!!! Sure glad you came by my way to find me, good thing I had my rain gear with me, and some candy bars and nuts, I might have starved all alone out there, and caught pneumonia! Got some coffee ready Mags? I sure do need some!!!!! I'm famished, what's for dinner gals?
I thank you so much for the Birthday wishes, getting on over here, this weather making me house crazy, I pulled tons of weeds today while the sun was out a bit. These achy bones are rusty for sure. So, I need to get back in practice to jump those dumpsters again. While i was out there I managed to do some clippings in the woods, hahaha, I got me another double yellow Brug, poor thing hangin on the ground like that, tsk tsk, I just had to prune it a bit more! Now if I was braver in that neck of the woods I'd gone up to the door, but they should know better, tee hee!
Weez, was that toilet paper for when ya was laughing so hard, ya had to wee in yor chair??????? How did I miss the seed trade, Gosh darn anyhow! I'm drooling over them, sigh...
8ft, your algo-something "silverado", didn't know what mine was called, thanks, so now I know to call it "Algo-something". Ya know, no matter how much it is neglected here in our office, it jes won't die!!!! Grand plant for sure! You look good all iced up like that, lol, We'll jes have to call ya hairy Frosty from now on!
Mags, don't tell me ya cut that wood ursef now, how nice to have good wood for our little camp!
Kim, what a great thing to do with that tupperware you found in the dumpster at Wally World!
For my big Bday, Valentines and Anniversary of meeting each other 19 years ago, I got the greatest present ever, a Rion Lean-to Greenhouse, now if it would stop rainin a bit, we could get it finished so I could put my seed trays in there, I'm doing a no more rain dance. I'm tired of it now, just kept having to unplug the drill, go back in too many times, the hail was fun, we all stayed out there for that in the middle of T-storm, Lightning and thunder, was pretty much fun, the kids thought it was the most fun they had all year, silly kids!!!!!
I never heard of proxide being used to kill stuff, I'll have to try that, and heat up stuff in oven, do tell, I'm green over here! I use alkyhol, lol to kill little buggers bothering my indoor plants. I need to stay close to that bus, and learn more, hummnnn, what a concept. Anymore snatching stories with pics? Love you guys, Annie
