Coffee and...part 5 :-D

Ohh Julie I love making that kind of soup too! It's one of the only things I cook! Hey, I have some Jerusalem artichokes in my yard that are supposed to be good for diabetes! I've never eaten them although they are like potatoes or so I heard. They can be on the 'headstrong' side as far as management in your yard but they have beautiful flowers!

Good morning, (or afternoon for most of you). I'm just wandering through with my empty mug looking to fill it with some tea and see what goodies are here. It's time I brought something....hmmm.....have to think of what. I did think about getting some of the rhubarb out of the freezer and making cobbler, it is so good warm with vanilla ice cream. Ok, I just talked myself into it!

This morning I took a walk down into our large pasture to see how much grass is available for the horses. Newt our big cat followed me, meow, meow, so I would stop and let him catch up, pet him a little and go on. He follows me in the summer when I go to change the irrigation water. I'll post his picture so you can meet him. We called him Tommy when he showed up here a few winters ago as a stray, but a few months later when spring was in the air he started wandering and comming home beat up, so he got a trip to the vet and a lifestyle change. They asked what his name was and I told them well we can't call him Tommy anymore so it's gonna be Newt. Guess we should spell it Neut.

Hope all you with the flu bug and other ailments are feeling better soon. Take your vitamins!! Eat your vegies!! Do I sound like a mother hen? See you later.

Cute guy, your "Neut", Lol.

Many years ago I had a neutered male cat that would follow me when I went down to the lake to chop a drinking hole in the ice for the ducks, and to throw out some cracked corn. He fussed at me the whole way, only quitting when I was back on the land and clearly heading for the house.

Gosh, we are filling up these threads almost as fast as the Nightowls threads in Jokes & Chat. That one is up to #30 now, but WE have goodies plus coffee and tea!

Hi all, Time for a coffee break. I'm about due for a life break right now too. Not a good day yesterday. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/472592/#new Here's what happened - last post. Uck! Uck! I have a rack of hanging clothes under the cupboards so today I am drying them. The bottoms and sleeves touch the floor so they wicked up water about 6". All the baseboard came off today b/c the walls aren't drying behind them. They figure Sat. before everything is dry.

But the sun is shining and it's 45° out. :)

Awwww Kooger (((( ~hugs~ )))) I've only had those washing machine 'over-runs' when my machine has been in the basement...not much harm there. But then there *was* the time when I had the washer/dryer in a cabinet in my hallway, the washer got out of balance and knocked a FULL *huge* bottle of Tide on to the floor breaking its cap. That stuff NEVER came out of the carpet...talk about a sticky mess! Yuck!

Nicole...I saw a Jerusalem Artichoke plant in one of the mags a day or so ago. Came close to ordering it...maybe I should. :-D Thanks for the heads up!

Mary, be sure to bring some of that rhubard cobbler over...I'll try NOT to eat it all before the others (and *you*) get some. :-D Your 'Neut' and my Sadie would make a great pair...look quite a bit alike. I love the look on his face. :-)

HI Darius...can I put my order in for some of that Biscotti? I love the stuff...maybe I'll pull out my recipes tomorrow and see what I can throw together for us.

Well...the bread is out of the oven and good chunk of it is already 'down the hatch' with a pile of butter. :-D It didn't turn out 'pretty' as everyone else's but it tasted really good. LOL AND it's going to make some some grilled 'croutons' to go with supper tonight...can't beat THAT with a stick!

Think I'll have one more cup of coffee before I go...

Oh, yeah...here's our new thread. This one was getting a bit long again.
LOL (I LOVE it!)

Well darius and I are in the same fix as last week. We are expecting a possible ice storm tonight and tomorrow and praying it will turn to snow. We had ice this morning and I didn't go to work, but it warmed up and rained, so I ran to the grocery store, of course. Hope I don't lose power.
