CLCNever too Late to Plant?

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

We are in the teens tonight, but it is clear and no snow, so I am not complaining... ;) .. Tomorrow we having a heat wave... it may get up to 30 ...

Hang in there, Tazzy, spring is coming, one day at a time...

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

-12° and dropping. Gotta love Iowa in the winter--everything is frozen solid but the teenagers....

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Oh, Wanda... that is artic weather... how low will it get in Iowa? and the wind chill factor makes it even worse...

Emma is such a goose, she would not even got outside if it was that cold... she whines about having to go out when it is raining... lol

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

This Iowa--love it or leave it! Not for fair weather fiends... Four distinct seasons and three of them are on hold right now....

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Yeah, well it sounds like it is not for fair weather friends. I am content where I am.. Call me a wuss, but I have enough trouble with the joints here where it is not so bad... In your kind of weather I would have to have a bigger barn. I am outdoors year round, with my horses, and I suspect that I am not hardy enough for your winters... ;)

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

New plant entry: Starr of Missouri: hardy to Zones 6 and above only. Need regular water and fertilizer. LOL

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL... that is about right... this child does not do well when it is under 25... and prefers temps over 40 ... does not require a lot of maintenance, just provide plenty of horse mud and this one will flourish... ;)

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

LOL!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

And if I were rich, I would have a house in each temperate zone so I could always garden in comfort.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

And we would visit you!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

with your poaching shovel ?... ;)

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

yup

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

I knew it!!!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

When I'm rich, I'll make sure that each of my mansions has plenty of bedrooms for guests and poaching shovels, if you forgot yours.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

You're sooo sweet!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

What are friends for?

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Can I bring Big Bertha to dig for me I'm getting feeble/

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Sure, I'll save her/him a room in my mythical mansion!

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

good !

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

her/him? did i miss something?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

You mean s/he/it? VERY long story!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

ohhh, ok.. before i came to the CLC?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

That may be. You would have to go WAY back to the begining.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Another time, maybe you can guide me to the links.. too late for you to fool with it now.. or me to read... thanks!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

You would certainly need a full day of reading!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Wasn't that around the time of Tazzy flying around on the fan? Or maybe it was back when we were getting together a posse to head to Arkansas? Gosh -- it has been one long adventure, hasn't it?

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Yes it has! I think we need to get a posse together to go dig up Wanda's garden!! lol! Just for fun you know!!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

I think it was just before I came into it, when you were needing a new friend... around that time....

It has been a very fun adventure...

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Sure has ~ and we sure miss our goat-ridin' Charlotte!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL... and those lil goat pellets, too...

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

it started when moby and some others badseed i think were getting together and i start out to go to virtualy. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/446118/
at the bottom

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

My, my, we have been a busy lot haven't we? I thought it started because we all wanted to laugh and get away from the ugliness of Humble Bumble's machinations...

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

A relief effort? Machination....excellent description! Yes, we got a little silly and it was downhill from there.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

A little silly and a great club was born. See, Tazzy was the first "Naked Lady" on DG. We're just innocent bystanders....

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Moi?
I as pure as the driven snow ?
well after dogs and cats do
there daily requirements of snow tinting.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

azzy--You're too good to be true! LOL

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Wanda's right ... and that's a fact... ;)

I followed that link, but the next link from that thread doesnt work anymore, and I got lost...

Taz, you are supposed to play in the snow "before" the dogs and cats get there... BTW, I thought y'all was going show us your snow angels? Wanda? Didn't she say y'all did snow angels?

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Too cold to do snow angels. Maybe during a "hot flash"! Ha Ha Anyway, all our snow has a crust of ice on it---no way to lay down without breaking thru.

Wait a bit & we'll get some new snow maybe without the ice--that would be nice. I'm getting tired of just seeing Walker prints across the yard...

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

I cannot imagine having snow as long you do at a time... We at least get a break in between. And our weather is not nearly as severe being so much farther south. I think I would not want to be outside so much if I had to deal with your weather... My horses wouldn't like it either. Today we got up into the 50's and they say this warm spell will last for several days... think I will work on my tan tomorrow... ;)

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Got up to 40 today. Not making much of a dent in the snow, but at least the snow packed streets are beginning to clear.

Only have squirrel tracks in my back yard....
