Show your Christmas trees!!

Jody, are the icicles also glass? Somewhere i have a small box of handmade (German) glass icicles that I bought in MD in the late 1960's.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Jody, your tree is up, and the presents are bought AND wrapped? Wanna come and do mine? The tree is beautiful!

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

Darius, yes the icicles are all glass too.

LOL Thanks Joan... My DH and I have a tradition. We started doing it our first year together (because DH is a big kid at heart) and have done it ever since. We play the "12 days of Christmas". We open gifts throughout the month of December. Sometimes there isn't much more than a stocking left to open on Christmas Day, but we have a ball and really enjoy it. So I have to have gifts ready to go by Dec 1st.

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Well, here's ours. DH wanted to put it up right before Thanksgiving, and I said, "Oh no sweet honey dearest it's far too early, we must wait until after Turkey Day" or words to that effect, :o)
but today is the day, I promise!! LOL (Unless interrupted by one of the other postponed Christmas chores, writing out our cards, wrapping, tagging, cookie making, etc.) This is intended to assure all the other procrastinators that you are NOT ALONE!!

Pathway Lights... I put in 5 pkgs. of rope lights today, hooked together down one side (90 feet) of my path to the parking area. There are NO lights on that side, so maybe this will keep me from breaking my neck.

I plan to do the other side as well. The lights have lots of curves to the tubing right now because the tubing is cold, but a few more of the staples used for weed fabric should take care of them.

2 Photos, one just before dark so you can see the path... The dark spots are leaves already on the rope lights...

Path after dark... you can see why I wanted some lights!

Here's the tree in the dining/living room area. The picture isn't so great, the tree is really much prettier than the picture shows.

I also have these three scraggly trees in the den all year round. I decided to decorate them also. I put as many bear ornaments as I could find on there, and then some lights.

JoanJ, your tree is gorgeous. All three of them are so bright and cheery.

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

OK, here's out tree. We (I) put it up and decorated it today. We bought it last week and it's been in a bucket on the back porch. I threw a blanket around the bottom because my mother is putting the binding on a tree skirt I quilted.

I love all types of ornaments, especially the Old World Christmas ones that are so delicate.

MsMaati...nice job on the outside! So pretty! We like driving around and looking at all the lights during the holidays. I love the candy canes. Very nicely done.

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

MsMaati, the outside looks wonderful. I'm not as far behind as DH, we have no lights up at all because it's been raining....in Wisconsin.....in DECEMBER! But there is progress on the tree. It's up, and has been for a few days, cats so far haven't climbed, but then, why would they when there is nothing to take off, or hide. It's good for napping though!

Thank you grayse. We cut back a bit this year to try to conserve on electricity. I love to drive around too. We have a home here in Evansville area that goes wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overboard. If I get a chance I will photo it and post it here. OUr park does a big display to benefit Easter Seals. It is very nice too.

Nice! I really like the antique ornament tree, and the shelf behind it with the dolls.

My grandmother was from Coshocton.

Paris, TX(Zone 8a)

How pretty. My sister collects barbies, and she puts up a Barbie tree as well as her regular tree. The regular tree is more traditional, but the Barbie tree is White with pink ribbons around it, and she hangs her keepsake barbie ornaments on it. It's really cute.

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

darius, who is your grandmother? i have lived here since i was five but my mil was born here and has lived here for 74 years. she knows everyone. the dolls are lizzy high dolls from longaberger.

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

There! Finally. No more room for cat napping. Packages wrapped for the most part, still some baked goods to box or tin, but after a four hour wrapathon this morning, I'm quitting for the day! I seem to have misplaced some of our ornaments but I'm too pooped to look for them, maybe tomorrow.

My grandmother was Della Reed, then Richards (after marriage) and a sister, Eva I think, lived in Coshocton all her life but I don't remember her married name. All my geneaology papers are in storage.

I'll get back to you on this!
