when i was a senior in high school i did my water ballet solo to lucy in the sky with diamonds, for those of you who don't know, this song was about an l.s.d. trip/high. it wasn't until years later that i found this out though. i just liked the song. now when we visit las vegas, downtown at the fremont experience they use this song in one of there shows. its fun to watch and reminisce.

i had a realization just yesterday. i was glad i was getting old, 47, and the wrinkles were setting in, it gave me permission to say, this body will never be 20 something again, and i can give up all those "looking beautiful and perfect" thoughts and just say to heck with it and enjoy life. no more do i have to worry about if the "guys" are looking my way and if i'm pretty enough, or slim enough, or whatever enough. i am who i am, glad for it and the inside has always been beautiful!!!!! ;)
in speaking with older woman we have discussed how you just become invisible one day. no one looks anymore, and that is what triggered this acceptance for me. yes!!!! and it feels good. thank god for older age.

debi_z, You should "Go Ask Alice" if you want to know about the song Wanda was humming there.... ;) ... I am sure that many of us flower growers from the 60's remember it well... and as long as you are happy with the age you are, that is all that counts...
Wanda, old age isn't 'setting in' on me ... it is darn well nesting! I feel older than I am and look older than I feel... (did I get that right?)

ps: I whimper, too, somedays.... lately been doing that alot... but I think I am over it for this time. (Note to self: Do not get sick again this year. Once is enough.)

I'm also 47 and feeling the same way. It's funny how I'm used to teenagers calling me Mrs. and Mam, but I've started noticing 30 somethings doing the same thing and it felt kinda weird at first but now I'm getting used to it.
