Garden Angel Fund Quilt raffle

Ursula, you have been such a staunch supporter of the Angel Fund... so you have every right to bite nails... yours and others, LOL!

darius, this time I did not contribute (it's too expensive to buy a dollar check here), but a wonderful Garden Angel bouht a chance for me to win the quilt. I feel really blessed to belong to this wonderful community!

Ursula, I meant all the seeds you have donated for the proceeds to go to the Fund. Plus your new Christmas offer, which does not go to the fund, still hepls those in need.

Oh my gosh! The quilt is beautiful. You ladies are so very talented. I sent my donation just a minute ago. If it wasn't for Kell posting on the brug forum I wouldn't have known about this. Thanks Kell..... Such a great cause too.

Since we are holding off on the drawing for a few days, you can still get in on the raffle.

Should we post in a couple other places? I figured this forum and the Gen. Discussion would catch everyone. I didn't want to be a pain in the butt about it, but figured people would see it here or there. Just didn't want to act like I was hounding folks to buy chances.....wanted everyone to do what they felt that they should about it.

May I take this moment to highly commend everyone who contributed to the quilt, from the speck of an idea, inception of a design, the making quilt squares, and the final coming together and hand-quilting!

I know future recipients of funding from the Angel Fund may never know the source of their funding, but ALL of you that participated will know, and I hope you have a great Peace for your contribution!

Thanks for posting that reminder in another forum, Mel. I'd forgotten to get a ticket! I'm glad you extended the deadline a little, too. Whew!

P.S. Actually, I sent you $10, so put me down for two tickets even though I said it was for one in my PayPal note. I was thinking they were $10 each.

OK gang...Dave and I are both trying to come up with a drawing time that we can both be here on DG for it....the 10th won't work..so we are looking at something a bit sooner than that. We want to have it in the evening, so that most everyone will be able to be home to participate in the fun if you want to.

What I will do as soon as we get the day and time.....we are looking at early next week, by the way...is make a brand new thread....Quilt Raffle Party!

We want to do this live , sort of like the membership countdowns we used to do where we all watched for member '500'...or 10,000....they were always so much fun.

Keep posted...we won't make you wait much longer...we promise!!!!

The deadiline was Dec 1...but if someone really wanted to purchase a raffle ticket...or just forgot, we'd squeeze them in.

Dave and I are getting everything together for the cyber drawing and as long as the code actually hasn't been processed with all of the names and chances bought...we could add another.

This should all be done in the next day or two...we just didn't want to turn anyone away if they wanted to participate.

What about opening the chat room for the drawing? That might be fun!

I am new to raffles on DG...do we get a number for our tickets purchased ? As a matter of fact, how do we even know our money was recieved and that we are in the drawing?
And then what happens....Dec. 6th Monday, right?

I got the notice that the money for your chances came in Dec.1. I have a master list with everyone's name and amount of chances they bought.

If anyone wants to double check....just let me know. I can tell you the date and the amount..

Dave will have to let us know what kind of program he wrote to generate the winner, but I assure you, whatever he came up with is fair and accurate. I trust him completely to give us a wonderful Raffle. I do know he tested the program, and said it works fine. He's going to put the names in either late tonight, or first thing tomorrow.

He's usually not around on the weekends...it's his family time, so you won't hear from him today. He'll probably post something tomorrow.

What a wonderful project you members did. The entire program is a wonderful idea! I bookmarked this thread so I can see other projects being done for it in the future!

BTW...my DIL Tracy aka Lilystorm is looking for software that can do the raffle kind of stuff....do you know the name of it? Or I guess it would be better if she asked Dave himself!

Knowing Dave....he just wrote the program. I'm 100% sure on that...it would be a Linux based program too.

He might be able to give her some pointers on this type of thing though....he just does not do Windows...(pun intended...heh,heh,...)
