Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I forget what the money will be used for....

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Monies will go to The Garden Angel Fund, which pays subscription fees for those of us who find ourselves in dire financial straits and would have to leave DG.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

The money will be used to pay for subscriptions for members who cannot pay when theirs comes due. It is also to help our international friends where the rate of exchange can sometimes make a 15.00 subscription cost them over 100.00

If you know of a situation like this, please contact Trish. Sometimes folks won't say right out that they are having difficulties and it's up to friends to catch on and let Trish know. The whole thing is about friends helping friends.

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

"Amen", to Melody's last sentence.

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Why does this thread say "Sticky *" in the New column? I've never seen that before.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I didn't know it was only for existing members that can't afford it. I thought it was for anyone (including someone new who wants to join, but can't afford it).

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

It's to help anyone Karrie, we just don't often get requests from someone who hasn't been a member. Sometimes there's a request for an international person who isn't a member, and I've heard of a few that were here in the States also. We aren't limiting this to current members by any means.

Capt...the 'sticky' is for posts that don't move down the page. It stays 'stuck' at the top. There's another one over in Recipes that I know of...there may be more.

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Ohhh.

Spokane Valley, WA(Zone 5b)

*FYI: Here's how this (and at least one other) sticky topic came about... http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/465550/*

So what does the tote board say now, Melody? I'm sure hoping Dave received our entry today... :)

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

The total is up to 865.00

There's just a few more days to get in on this project....we are going to close the raffle on Dec 1, and shortly therafter, we'll announce the winner of the quilt.

I want to thank everyone who has participated in this labor of love. The quilters, and the people who have donated the cash to fund this.

Thanks to all, our Angel Fund should be solvent for quite some time.

Now, we need to know of ones in need of the gift....if you have someone who you think might need help with their subscription, please contact Trish. She will take care of handling your requests with total privacy for all parties.

The fund is wonderful....but it's purpose is to be used. Just sitting in the bank won't do anyone any good. If we use the money....we'll come up with another project to build it back up.

Again, thanks so much for your help....no matter what you did, the thanks is heartfelt.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I hope my money was received also. I sent it through Paypal.

BrugNanny,

We have no record of you sending anything by PayPal. Would you let me know which day you sent it, and how much it was?

dave

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Dave I sent $20 through paypal on Nov. 27th.

Here is what my Paypal a/c shows:

Date Type Status Details
Nov. 27, 2004 Payment To stdout@standout.com Unclaimed

Nov. 27, 2004 Transfer From Bank Account Completed Details

Let me know what or if anything has gone wrong. I read somewhere that we could send money by Paypal to the stdout@standout.com for the money for the chances on the quilt.

Please advise if I should go looking for my money out there in la la land somewhere........lol

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Is the drawing tomorrow?

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

BrugNanny - your address is wrong. Check up at the top. e-mail: stdout@standardout.com You have standout.com instead of standardout.com. Cancel the payment and then resend with the correct address. It should go through ok then, I would think. :)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I am always so last minute! I have 2 3/4 hours west coast time to figure out how to send my $ thru paypal! LOL. So do not end it yet!!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Do you have a paypal account already set up? I don't think you can send money until it's set up and and that can take a couple of days. Just remembered, that's for a confirmed account, maybe you can with an unconfirmed account. Check it out! soon! lol

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I use my husband's account. I supposedly have one myself, for a few people have told me they have sent money to me thru paypal. But since I never set up an account with them, I have no password to get into where they sent it to my email address, so I can never access it. A catch 22.

I have emailed PayPal but they never respond. In fact just now I noticed you can add other email addresse to the primary one. So I tried to add mine, and up came a box saying that email address already has an account. LOL. Yes, mine that has money in it that I can never get into! LOL

So I had to put in my secondary email address I use when AOL decides I am spamming.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Wonderful things when they start talking to each other, aren't they?

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

Kell, try this address to reach them: https://www.paypal.com/ewf/f=default
actually that is paypal.com/ewf/f=default
Good luck!

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

We won't close the raffle till the midnight today....Dec 1...ya'll got a little while yet to get your tickets bought.

Good luck...and thanks to everyone!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

We're not going to announce the winner tonight, though. I think we're going to announce on December 10th.
