US has Double Pink

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Hang in there Kareoke. You are going to be so excited when they bloom for you.

Thanks Linda. It has been a good year and maybe there will still be more............

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Here is a new picture. This one held up through the wind and the heat today. Ignore the cucumber I have in my hand. I found it while out taking pictures. LOL!

Beautiful. Cuke looks really good!!!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Wow, what a photo, Shirley, yellow, spent leaves, a cucumber (burpless, I assume!) and one of the most beautiful blossoms, ever, it's really pretty, so feminine!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Sherry, this plant is in a pot, but the wind storms we have had, ripped the roots partially out of the ground when it blew the plant over and I couldn't straighten the pot without cutting the roots, so I left it alone. I don't clean yellow leaves off my plants at this time of the year. There are just too many. Yes, it is a burpless cuke and I think I'll go clean it and get some Ranch dressing out and have a party. LOL!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

She looks great!!!! (love cukes with dressing!!!)

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

The flower is so perfect i didnt even notice the leaves. Love how the inner skirt drops out completely

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

All I see when I look at that last pic are all those stalks! Cutting material! LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Those stalks don't even belong to the double pink, except the one that lays under one of the others. I'm telling you, those storms just twisted and messed up my brugs so bad this year. It isn't a pretty sight out there..

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

these flowers just facinate me, they are so beautiful, Brugie I wish I were close enough to help you out and take some to my house *LOL*

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Me too. Want to make a run to Iowa? Bring a U-Haul. LOL! I have lots of tropicals that I can't hold over again. Plan to keep some ears, cannas, hibiscus, and brugs plus a few of my sun loving coleus. Just way too much out there to bring in. We would have to move out.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

What a dream come true........such a pure beauty.

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

I've been out of sorts with no power... little breezy and rainy..(big understatement) but I'm back now and what a wonderful thing to come back and see!! Congratulations Shirley, a no more deserving person to grow out the U.S.' double pink. Thank you Monika for sharing your seeds with Shirley and giving us all the hope of having a double pink in each garden in the future!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Brugie I feel for you, it breaks me up to part with any flower, and when I see one failing I do all I can to bring it back. Guess you will just have to shut your eyes when you shut the door on good weather.

I'll work on that Carol. It would be nice if it could be shared with all of Monika's friends here.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

How long will it but until Monika will be registered??

Syracuse, NY

Congrats Shirley it was well woth the wait couldn,t happen to a nicer person. Bob

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Sherry, I'll register it after it has bloomed a couple of times next summer. By that time I'll know more about it all the way around.

Thanks Bob, you are too kind.

Day Dreams is my favorite of the two pink doubles I had. I just thought the first one should be named for Monika.
