botany test

Walkerton, VA(Zone 7a)

How right you are, Terry. Part of my job involves writing tests with multiple choice questions. Coming up with a question is easy, coming up with three credible sounding (but incorrect) disclaimers is hard as the dickens. May I suggest a True or False format as well as multiple choice?

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I flunked! lol! Too embarrased to give my score!

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

True & false! Never did well with those. I protest? ;-)

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

feel like i'm back in school cause i got the same grade as my school test....30. oh well.

Gardena, CA

8 of 10 for me and I protest.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

you only fail if you don't try! you have succeeded by learning some new stuff. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cool. to me it has always been the effort mark, on those report card thangs. :)

edited to say.....terryn said i could cheat so that really isn't cheating. :-b

I failed the geranium one too Badseed. Technically, a "real" geranium is perennial.

The questions were rather ambiguous so I'm not surprised some of you felt your results were bad.

For instance (Vic, I'm not picking on you :) in the genus Geranium there are annual and biennial species too so whether the question master was alluding to the genus Geranium or the genera Geranium and Pelargonium was not quite clear, it wasnt really a good question because in either case it was the same answer. Questions 1, 2 and 3 might have been better worded, the rest were much more succinct.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

i didn't know there was a perennial geranium until i came to daves.

Gardena, CA

I didn't know there was an annual geranium until I came to Dave's.

Terry!!!!

What is the correct answer to the Kansuensis question? I haven't looked it up yet, but curiosity is killing this cat. I may start a google search soon, but didn't want to cheat. I guessed the one that nobody else had guessed, but I'm curious about the correct answer.

You don't have to Google for it. Click on the Botanary tab (above), type it in or browse the K's and you'll see the correct answer. (I didn't want to give away the answer here in case anyone else was still guessing.)

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Okay, I'm off to find the answer. :) Thanks

Around here, there are scented Geraniums, seed Geraniums and hardy Geraniums. You can't buy a Pelargonium. LOL

Gardena, CA

Badseed,
Same thing over here. Except for all the good folks in Dave's Garden, no one has ever heard of a Pelargonuim. I have no idea what I would get if I asked for it. Ha

So funny that I flunked this test. My neighbor Dee says I don't have a green thumb, but a "golden" thumb - but then when it get's down on paper - ka-pooooowie!

Kinda like me and music. I don't read music well, but have played the piano by ear since I was 5 years old - who needs music when you can hear it in your head and play it the way YOU want, lol!
