Secret cactus and succulent Trade
Jan, U have mail :-)
Tombstone hope mine was right - sent it out this morning! Email you. :))
Oh great, of coarse you would be on the ball and wouldn't you know it, Yours was the wrong address. I sent emails to both who it was suppose to go to and to who it is going to and hopefully we can get it all straghtened out. If not then I owe your secret partner a special box from me.
I just knew I had screwed up (parden the slang) somewhere.
Oh Great! Now I screwed up by just letting on to your secret parter who sent the package. Well, no big deal I am so glad you caught it and your not so secret partner will get her box on time. Good going girl . Glad you were able to catch it at the Post Office.
Jan
mine was sent this afternoon.
You just underestimate our enthusiasm Jan! Just can't wait to get those boxes flying! Always feel sorry for the poor person behind me in the PO line though...;)
Thanks for organizing this trade - if I did it there would be a lot more than just ONE wrong address!!!!
Jan, mine went out also this morning by priority mail.
Maxine

Cathy

Well I went out today and got most of mine.want to take some cutting from some I have. so will get mine together in the morning and off to the post office. I had so much fun, picking out the little ones. I sure hope my girl likes them :)))
Well, you guys are just too much. I am so glad to here all the great news. I'm sure that everyone will enjoy their box of goodies. I can't wait to see what I get.
Mine will go out tomorrow as I just got back from Mayo.
I am sooooooo glad that I don't live in Phoenix. It was 111' there today. I thought I would die. Thank god for air conditioning. I have to go back again next week for CT and biopsy. Not looking forward to that trip.
I have to tell you all the most bazzare thing that I saw on my way up. There was a semi in front of me and another car beside the semi. The semi swerved and almost hit the car next to him. Much to my amazement he swerved to avoid hitting a pelican. Yep! an pelican. It was so sad to see this more misguided huge bird sitting just off the hwy. Evidently a flock of pelican got blown off coarse and were diving into the asphalt as they could see a reflection. Thinking it was water they were diving right into the road. If I hadn't had ten thousand cars behind me I would've pulled over. I don't know what I could have done but I would have tried to do somthing. Can You imagine seeing a pelican in the middle of the desert? Poor little guys. It just made my heart ache.
Anyway, My package goes tomorrow.
Jan
Hi Jan....funny you mention the pelican episode...I just read about that very thing happening in Arizona, a couple of days ago:
http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2004/07/09/world/pelicans040709
Very sad. Glad you're home safe and we're all excited about getting our surprises!! (Hot here too, but not 111!!) Janet

Jan, glad to hear you made it home safely, I hope your trip was helpful. I didn't realize you were having these difficulties. Best wishes your way!
I heard about the pelicans on NPR. You are right, it hurts to hear about it, I can't imagine witnessing it.
Hi! Mine went out this morning. It has to go across country but I never dreamed I would go over the limit with the box I had. I got to the post office and it cost 9.00. I'm sorry I went over the limit. Didn't mean to one-up anyone as it was not a big box by any means. I hope it arrives okay and survives all the heat. I hope they enjoy the plants. Lou
Oh my, got my box - of goodies today from Marlatt8 - what a great selection. I think there are 17 different little checks & hens and 3 - different sedums. Thanks so much they are great. I didn't have most of these. I don't think you can have too many Chicks & Hens!! I really love them.
I received mine today! A very nice healthy sized ice plant. Very different from the ones I've seen. I love it and have put in pot to starting grabbing in. Thanks so much still a Secret Trader. (LOL)
I just love doing these trades.
Thanks Jan for thinking of it and hosting this.
:^)))
Molly
Hey you guys, It's only a secret until you send it. You can tell your recipent who it was that sent it when you send the package. Heheh. I mean let them know who it is from so they can respond when they get their goodies. Sorry I didn't make that part clear.

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!
All I can say is WOW!!!
Molly, you out did your self. How very generous you were. Thank you so very much. I am just tickled pink. I love them all and am particularly fond of the Donkey ear, Cape blanco, and Lilac mound. But they are all such wonderful plants. Now I've got to find the perfect spot for these.
Thank you again so much.
Jan
Just like Christmas in July huh?
And boy do we need some Christmas! Gotta have something to keep us going through this awful weather! (waiting on doorstep for boxes...sweat dripping)
Dixiechick, you are amazing. If I were to look up the word "generous" in the dictionary I'm sure I would find your photo. These are lovely plants - and new to my collection. The fact that some were potted in "Dixie" cups was not lost on me! Here we go -
Hoya - such a sweet plant
Devil's Back Bone (cool name and I love it's look)
Lipstick Plant Black Pagoda (I've been wanting this one!)
Unknown Philodendren (unusual type, upright)
Red Sedum (rich color)
Bromeliad!
Aloe (finally, an aloe!)
A LARGE Sedum - going to plant this one in the front of my garden
Several sweet little succulents - some unknown, a couple may be a hen/chick of some sort
Blue Spruce Sedum (I like this, never seen it before)
More unnamed succulents (what a sexy word)
Night Blooming Cereus
Cereus Monvillea-haageana Night Blooming Vine (Wow, these are cool!)
Thank you so much! They are all potted up and looking good. I'll think of you each time I see them! You're so kind.
Dixiechick, I forgot to include the Pineapple Sage - got it too. Love the scent of the leaves!
Boy, are we having fun. I can't wait till everyone has there goodie box and Is as happy as those of us that have already received ours. Aren't you glad you joined in on this trade. I am. I would say that this is pretty much a success story, Heh?
I was looking at the all the replies we have posted and I think that we did good.
good going guys.
Thanks for making this trade such a fun one.
Jan

Haworthia, I have a pink one, what color flower? Bee's love it.
Sedum 'Meteor' Pretty!

This is so much fun, I can't wait to send mine out, a few more days!
Well lookee here, I got another one from my secret trader. Aren't they great!!!! The ice plant has a bloom on it already and the "Turks Head Barrel Cactus" is amazing!!!
I love them both. Leeann Thank you so much. I hope you didn't hurt yourself pulling the cactus. I have just the place for it. I have a little mini desert by the garage wall near our barbecue patio. There's an awning over it, so it keeps dry even during our rainy weather.
Thank you ever so much Leeann.
JAn, this has been great fun, I'm so glad you thought of it!!!
:^))))))
