Show us your yard!!!!!!!!!!!

Birmingham, AL(Zone 8a)

Much better as of today - mailed 14 boxes out - finally caught up on trades! Bit of a cool front helping - what was it today, only 85 or so? :)

I'm a rock gatherer myself and it is such fun. Speaking of moving houses, they have been moving an old victorian in Hartford CT since Saturday. Tim got lots of pics even one with him standing under it as if holding it up. Unfortunately it got stuck and held up traffic until today I understand.

Great thread and so enjoyable to view all your gardens. This is what we started with .

This photo was taken in February, garden started but no lawn.

nelson, New Zealand(Zone 9a)

The lawn was planted on April 2nd and has grown well, in spite of the fact that we had two huge downpours of rain which washed many of the lawn seeds into my borders - Grrrrrr!! This phot was taken from inside my kitchen window, so you can have a peek at my neighbours front yard as well.

Nice work, Ferrymead! Has it been difficult ridding the beds of the grass, or were you able to nip it in the bud with a pre-emergent?

Fairmont, WV(Zone 6a)

Beautiful yards...they are an inspiration to me (just started putting in gardens this year)...thanks to whoever bumped this thread. I've actually taken a fair number of pictures of my yard, they're posted in my garden diary online if anyone is interested. :) Please keep in mind everything is either "before" (haven't worked on it yet) or early in the process! :)

Hi garden wife,
No, never put on a spray to stop the lawn seeds growing. Waited until they sprouted then took them out by hand, still grass growing there though. I found it easier to let them get a bit of height on them so they were quicker to grab!

I'm just now getting back into my gardening hobby after being a Grandma babysitter for three years. ;) Love my baby!

I've had a lot of work to do to get things cleaned up and back in shape. I'm still working on it all. Here is a few things I've managed to get done

My Jasmine is growing on a t-pee thingy. It is also growing up that oak tree right close by. These pics are in our backyard. Lin

Lucky you, being able to keep jasmine outside like that! I have mine in a container here in zone 5. Your flower garden is precious, just cute as a button with that fence around it. Can your bananas stay in the ground year-round there?

Midway, TX(Zone 8b)

Thank you! I'm very proud of what I've gotten done so far this growing season.

Yes my banana trees can stay in the ground here. They do freeze back but always come out quickly in the spring. I've also got a baby Sago Palm that's in the ground too. It's a slow grower but coming along pretty well. Lin

Here's part of the backyard from last spring (note the daffodils ). The stems in the pots are from the previous summer.

This is going up our front steps (we have a side entry garage). A couple of weeks ago, I planted 3 big Salvia patens "Blue Angel". Love them!

This is a flowerbed at the corner of our driveway and the sidewalk. The flowers I have in are for attracting Butterflies and Hummers. Some I just planted this year.

Seafire,

We don't have a big yard, We have a small sub division lot, it might look that way because of the way the pics were taken.
