A favorite of mine is "Don't look back, we're not going that way."

Favorite Garden quote
What a man needs in gardening is a cast-iron back, with a hinge in it.
My screensaver on my computers
This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.
My thoughts some days
Do not attribute to malice that which may be adequately explained by stupidity!
The screensaver wins out most days...I guess the question is. at what moment?
I ran across this while back and liked it

Oh mercy! That HAS to be from Jonathan Livingston Seagull, right! Haven't read that book in years! (I better go get a copy for my Daughter. She'll love it!)

Oddly enough, as popular as "Jonathn" was, and as much as I love it - it was not my favorite of his books. He wrote some other beautiful, very thought provoking books. You just have to suspend time and space to get all/some/any of what he is saying. (And read again, because you might find something else the second and third time through.)

Oh yeh! I remember now...I read both books. (Hmmm...wonder if I still have them.)
Thanks, will go look in my storage area for them.

I often over my life have wondered why people don't always see things exactly the way I would like for them to. As I get older I have finally realized we are all very unique and different. I remind myself of that with a little pile of pretty glued pebbles on my book shelf. A little sign on a popsickle stick in the middle of these pebbles reminds me:
EACH PEBBLE LIKE EACH PERSON IS DIFFERENT
If you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans.
I have so enjoyed the "wisdom" passing through, read everything, jotted some down. I laughed and sniffled at some too. Y'all are a hoot and good bunch of folks.
When my daughter was a wee one and wanted something, just for wanting I'd tell her:
"Wish in one hand, spit in the other and see which one fills up the fastest"
I think my headstone will read: Absent from the body, present with the Lord
I just remembered another good saying: A person shows character by what they do when no one is watching.
I heard a young man, already a millionaire just because he refused to live as he was brought up, in a slum, little to eat, etc. and sitting there, at the age of 9 he thought to himself, "There has to be a better life than this" and thus began peddling things door to door.
He spoke about the value of people in encouragement of new ideas and avoiding those who were always so negative and would tell him he couldn't succeed, with this simple sentence:
"If you can't change your friends, change your friends".
If you always do what you always did,
You'll always get what you always got
"I wish you double what you wish me".
I saw this at a flea market today.
A dull woman has an immaculate house....
I just had to laugh when I saw it.
I must be extremely un-dull!!!!! ~ Suzi :)
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this. cut & pasted some to add to my web site! here is another:
"Though I am an old man, I am but a young gardener." Thomas Jefferson
"Fall all you want to, but always tuck 'n roll." My surgeon
"Avoid suspicion when walking through your neighbors melon patch: never bend down to tie your shoes." Old proverb
tf
"Worse things have happened to better people."
-- Me (after numerous events that seemed rather tragic to me at the time)
"Don't attribute to malice that which can more easily be ascribed to stupidity."
-- unknown
Love the stupidity one! Excellent.
Thanks pirl ... wish I could give credit where it's due, but hey ...
It's all too true all the same!

Isn't life gay?

I heard this years ago and don't remember where it came from lol, If I ever knew!
"When in doubt, Lie like H__L" ................................
heycharlie - that goes along with the birthday card that says if you don't want to lie about your age, just tell them you're the same age as me - then LIE LIKE H--L ABOUT MY AGE!!!
My favorite sign in a resturant.
If you is broke, you done et.
If you go to a family reunion you're bound to run into a goofy cousin.
Okay - you've all seen those "small business" and "Mom and Pop" signs that NEVER get changed. The ones you pass every day on the way to and back from work, etc, that advertise the same SALE for 17 months, right? Well, I just about caused a wreck when I saw one of that type sign that read -
The Boss said change the sign, so I did!
LOL! That reminds me of a sign I saw at the Tazewell VA Flea Market many years ago "T-shirts: 1 for $7, 2 for $15" Even as a ten year old, I knew that was not a good marketing strategy.
edited to add 'sign'

yeah, but how many people actually fell for it and bought 2?!!!!
How about:
If God is your co-pilot, change seats!
I love that one Suzi, the church down the street had it on their marquee for a while and I smiled everytime I saw it.
Here's one I saw in someone's Pogo profile last week: A true friend isn't the one bailing you out of jail, it's the one sitting in the cell by you saying 'Man, that was so cool!!!'
That one made me laugh, even though I took it more figuratively than literally.
Rachel
If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything!
How about Dorothy Parker's: If you don't have something nice to say about a person, sit next to me!
This one started a whole argument with a friend: I think she's too stupid to "get it":
A friend is someone who will agree with you when you're wrong: anybody will agree with you when you're right!
Rose, my parents said that a lot to me while growing up. It is being passed on to my kids now. Sometimes it can be hard advise to follow.
Found this on google but thought it was so true:
