I was in Louisville today and saw this on a church placard. I immediately thought of all the quotes we've been posting here lately :)
"Come in and visit. This church is prayer conditioned!"

what you have always done,
you will always have,
what you have always had.

I've heard this for years and found it to be very true:
What comes around goes around...
One of my fave quotes is something my sister said one day after buying a lot of craft supplies "I can't wait to see if I do it" LOL she kills me.
IO1, you've got it almost right:
God grant me the serenity to except the things I can not change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.
...and you both used 'except' instead of 'accept'...... :)
That is actually called the serenity prayer and it is very nice:
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.
the serenity prayer - alcoholics anonymous - reinhold niebuhr
I have so many favorite quotes. Used to collect them and enjoy them all. Then, used some in a college paper, and had to rewrite a majority of it after had to find the authors, but couldn't find some. Not as much fun after that. Saw several of them above, Eleanor Roosevelt, Bible, others... I'll just put in this, for now:
